Wild Blackberries Pros and Cons
By: kisatchiecaller Date: July 9, 2015, 3:07 pm

love to eat them as jelly and cobblers But I hate to pick
them.......
snake boots , long sleeved shirt and covered in bug spray ,,,I
take my chances with the thorns and redbugs And every step I am
looking for a snake too..
this old mean SOB started buzzing while I was still 6 feet away
and scared me badly....I felt better after 3 rounds of snake
shot . I think I have enough blackberries for now.

Biggest rattler I've ever seen was killed while picking
blackberries when I was a kid, by my grandfather. They seem to
like those briars.

blackberry patch when they are ripe is a likely place to cross
paths with a big snake , seeing them is the tricky part .

Glad you made a good one out of it. AND I would be real glad it
gave me at least 6' of warning. I would rather have at least
10'.

Seems like a good year for them. I've come up on six timber
rattlers so far this year. Four or five copperheads, and
probably a dozen cottonmouths.
