I had a bunch of saplings sprout all around my trees this
summer. Dunno what I'm going to do about it, but I've mowed
around them twice so far. lol. Dale, if you get some saplings
going, I will send you scions off these cultivars.

i have tried one every year for 50 years, never found one i
liked yet. :puke1: i would rather try to eat 3 peaches than one
pawpaw. ;D

the paw paw big wig at KYU told me that a particular patch can
all have bad tasting fruit their entire life, close to kerosene
i'd say, cause we found a few smaller patches separate from the
big one, that did not taste at all good.
so if you kept trying paw paws from the same spot, then they
wont get any better. these proprietary strains are all supposed
to taste good though he said, that once bad always bad rule is
just for the wild ones.

  I see what you're doing. Onliest thing I prefer to
a pawpaw is a ripened-on-the-tree peach. So, yeah. I'd rather
have three of them, too.

i have all kinds of them back of the house, and my granddad had
a couple trees, he loved em. i have tried them from untellin
different trees. i just don't like em. i like bananas, and most
every other fruit, just not pawpaws. i always try one whenever i
find a tree full, but never got around to like them yet.
them peaches are hard to beat. can't have em around here, frost
most always get em.

goat weed looks familiar, just cant place it.. probably seen
during the years i went on farm calls with a large animal vet. i
know what careless weeds are, pig weed, thistle, that big mint
(cant remember name), but never heard about goat weed....do they
taste like paw paws? no wonder doves like'em if they do.
its a religious experience eating a perfectly ripened paw paw. i
wished i lived closer to this patch, so i could check it nightly
when its time.
[/quote]Seldom will you ever get a wild pawpaw for all the
critters, they love them. But you already know that.

I don't sneeze at peaches either. They are hard to beat, the
best ones ya need a handkerchief afterwards to clean off ya
chin. :tip:
