this batch will probably go toward making medicine. :cheese:
elderberry tincture. gonna see if last year was a fluke, if i
make it through this year, then it'll take a third year, cause
       anyone can be lucky twice.

I had to look up elderberry tincture because I had no idea what
it was. Looks like its mostly vodka with just enough elderberry
that it makes it medicinal.

i got a couple bare root starters from isons nursery on the web,
       out of georgia i think.
but you can look close to you probably and find the same. or you
can go dig up some roots from plants this winter, and transplant
them, they will take off no trouble. just cut the stalk up above
the first few nodes, and then dig up the roots being careful not
to damage the fine roots, the hair like stuff... get that stuff
in the ground this spring, and it will sprout where the nodes
were on the stalk.. then the following year, you'll get a 8ft
shoot in just a few months time starting around march or so.

its medicinal without the alcohol, but it keeps it from
       fermenting and going bad.

You can find them growing beside the road many places. They are
easily identified when they are blooming.
