I know this site doesn’t work the same as the neighbors site,
but with a little practice you should be able to get used to it
in no time...just mess around with it and you’ll get the hang of
it.
There are a couple categories where you can post just for easy
reference if you want to go back to a post, but to find the new
posts, just look to the right hand side of your screen and you
will see the new topics.
You can go onto your own profile and add your picture if you
like...just upload an avatar.
Another thing, on each persons replies, there are tiny little
graphics that you can hit, that are the little emoticons that
show whether you like or dislike, agree with, etc...on their
reply...many options.
Like I said, just play around with it.
Right now, I don’t have this set up as a private group...guests
can view the group from anywhere, and they can reply....I think
they would have to enter an email to do so. People cannot reply
anonymously though.
As far as finding the site, as of now, you will have to use your
link to do it...it has not been on the web for a sufficient
amount of time for google to show it in searches. If you lose
your link, go to a site called createaforum and you will see a
spot that gives you the option to look through a directory, then
type in Spring Hill Conservatives and you will find us.

Another thing before I forget!
This site is a free site! As such, the host, createaforum will
be placing ads on the forum.
They are giving us a free 30 day ad free period though.
So, in 30 days, ads will appear. I don’t know what they will
look like.
I think that’s it for now. I might come up with other things so
keep your eye out LOL

I'm okay with forums. I miss the days when this is what people
used all the time to communicate online. These days everyones on
facebook or twitter and those places are a warzone. On here we
wont be limited to just people in spring hill, we can invite out
of county / state relatives.
Also regarding ads; There are browser plugins for computers
using chrome or firefox that let you block ads. My favorite one
to use is called UBlock. If you install that into your browser
it all goes away. I use the Brave browser because it rewards me
with crypto money for looking at ads. On my phone I use Brave as
well, but I don't have an ad blocker there. If you search for
"Brave Browser" it should come up with a orange colored Lion
icon.

I use avast as a virus scanner, and it has something that is an
add on that blocks the ads also. I never got any ads at all on
the Nextdoor site. Except from private people wanting to mow, or
electrician or whatever. I didn't even know there were ads until
Patty had said something. I am spoiled I guess.
