July 11, 1990 - During a series with the Brewers, the White Sox
have a promotion that actually works. Sox P.R. director Rob
Gallas is the driving force behind "Turn Back The Clock" day.
The promotion recreates the scene as it would have been during
the 1917 season. Sox players wear replicas of those uniforms,
the scoreboard is turned off and operated by hand, vendors and
stadium personnel are dressed in period clothes and
photographers are allowed on the field. The promotion is copied
by teams in all sports and an offshoot promotion comes to pass
in coming years, it’s called "Turn Ahead The Clock."

[b]July 11, 1995 - At the All Star Game in Texas, 1st baseman
Frank Thomas turns a special double play. Thomas wins the home
run hitting contest before the actual game, and then becomes the
first White Sox player to ever homer in the game itself, when he
connects off the Reds John Smiley. The N.L. would win the game 3
- 2. Thomas was the only member of the Sox on the team.

July 11, 1927 - The White Sox tie a ML record with 8 sacrifices‚
all bunts‚ against the Red Sox‚ and win 7-6. The White Sox win
it in the 9th on daring base running by Bill Barrett. After
stroking a 2-out single‚ Barrett steals 2B‚ and when Fred
Hofmann's throw is wide‚ Bill reaches 3B‚ and continues home
when Ira Flagstead fumbles the ball in CF.

July 12, 1979 - The Tigers win the first game of a scheduled
doubleheader 4-1 on Disco Demolition Night at Comiskey Park.
Chicago radio DJ Steve Dahl and baseball promoter Mike Veeck
organized an event dubbed "officially the world's largest
anti-disco rally" at Comiskey Park. Fans were invited to bring
disco records to a doubleheader - to have them blown up after
the first game. Unfortunately, the explosion (and hundreds of
excited fans) left so much debris on the field that the Sox were
required to reschedule (and later forfeit) the second game. "It
looks," Dahl declared of the aftermath, "like World War II!"
