June 2, 1985 - A four run bottom of the first inning was all the
White Sox needed in beating the Kansas City Royals 4 - 1 at
Comiskey Park. White Sox first baseman Greg Walker capped off
the first inning scoring with a three-run homer. Royals pitching
then shut down the White Sox bats the rest of the way allowing
only a 4th inning one-out single by White Sox catcher Marc
'Booter' Hill. Starting pitcher Rich Dotson went 6 1/2 innings
allowing 6 hits, one earned run while striking out six to pick
up the victory. White Sox closer Bob James picked up his 10th
save of the season.

"Sucked" isn't nearly strong enough to describe that incarnation
of TAGS. Talk about the across-the-board downgrades that show
went through:
Ken Berry for Andy
Warren for Barn
Howard Sprague, Goober, and Emmett for Floyd, Gomer, and Ernest
T Bass
Helen Cramp for Ellie
And Richie Cunningham for Opie (who had long outgrown that
9-year-old cute naivete by the time the show went color)
And if you think I forgot Aunt Bee, I didn't. She was never
anything on the show other than the source by which the family
got fed.

I love rookie cards. Bruce Howard, one of two guys we chose to
keep in the minors and left Denny McLain available for Detroit
to nab. Anyone want to guess who the 2nd pitcher was that we
protected along with Howard?

Ken Berry was a great CFer, but could not hit. Staehle was going
to be our 2Bman, could not beat our Buford and Weis. Gibson I
can recall only cause I have the same 1st name and also that we
share the same Bday. Bob Locker had a great sinker, was a nice
setup man in the pen for Wilhelm/Fisher. Bollo I think went 4-2
one year, never heard of him again.
