Is it already the 12-year anniversary of Greg Norton's 7th
inning sac fly that got the Sox within two runs in a losing
effort against Detroit?

On this day in Sox history . . . ..
May 27, 2007: after reaching their high-water mark of 4 games
above .500 (24-20), the Sox suffer an 11-5 loss to Tampa Bay,
beginning a 5-game losing streak that will take them below .500.
They will not be above .500 again for the rest of the season.
Highlight of the Sox loss? Power arms Thornton, MacDougal, Sisco
give up 6 runs in 2 innings of work.

May 28, 1973 - A night Wilbur Wood will never forget. Two days
earlier the game between Cleveland and the White Sox was
suspended by curfew tied at two after 16 innings. Rain washed
out action on the 27th so when the suspended game was resumed on
the 28th, it was Wood’s turn to pitch. He went out and threw
five innings before the White Sox would win it 6 - 3 in 21
innings on a Dick Allen three-run walk off home run off of
Indians' reliever Ed Farmer. Game one was also the MLB debut for
White Sox outfielder Bill Sharp. Thirty minutes later Wood went
out and started the regularly scheduled game. He would toss a
complete game, four hit shut out, winning 4 - 0. Two wins in one
evening! His line for the night, 14 innings pitched, one run,
six hits, nine strikeouts, two wins.
