Fixed that for you.

Bulls' Derrick Rose needs to tell truth – he's not returning for
this season's playoffs
Adrian Wojnarowski - Yahoo Sports
NEW YORK – All around Derrick Rose, there are these
unforgettable images of the way the Chicago Bulls willed
themselves into the path of the Miami Heat. All around Rose,
there's blood, puke and voices screaming in pain. All around
him, these are the reasons for him to tell the truth now.
All around Rose, there's Joakim Noah dragging one good leg
across seven games and Nate Robinson heaving into a bucket. All
around Rose, there's Kirk Hinrich in a walking boot and Luol
Deng fighting to get out of a hospital room and onto the team
charter flight.
All around Rose, his teammates are the most inspiring,
spectacular substance in the sport now. These Bulls beat the
Brooklyn Nets 99-93 in Game 7 on Saturday night, and they
reached to the ends of the roster, reached beyond reason.
Derrick Rose says his injury status is "still up in the air."
(USA Today Sports)
For the good of his franchise and fans, for everyone's focus to
be where it should belong now – Bulls-Heat, Game 1 on Monday –
Rose needs to drop the illusion that his return in these
playoffs remains a consideration.
"Who knows?" Rose told reporters hours on Saturday. "It's still
up in the air."
Who knows? Derrick Rose knows. His choice has been made to sit
out the season and it includes no provisions for turning back,
sources with direct knowledge told Yahoo! Sports.
Inside and outside of the organization, that isn't much of a
revelation. After all, the surgery to repair the torn ACL in his
left knee was May 12, 2012. Doctors cleared him to start
scrimmaging with the team in mid-February. After all that, he
isn't walking out for the first time with LeBron James and the
Miami Heat waiting to jump him.

Is it my imagination or are all NHL play-by-play announcers
really good? Maybe I'm just hearing the good ones with my
limited exposure, although it seems like you'd have to be good
to call a game like hockey. joeconnors can likely speak to this.

I think you are right, RE: they are all good because they have
to be. By its nature, hockey demands a faster/tighter
play-by-play and a better analysis from the "color" guy. The
play in hockey is more fast (and random) than the others.
Then again, maybe it is just because you only see national
hockey games or local games, meaning you get to hear two of the
best... Emrick and Foley.
But regardless, you raise an interesting debate: which sport
has the best announcers? And which has the worst? Might I
proffer "baseball" for the latter?

Hockey announcers have to be good (and I think are the best) for
the reasons mentioned by Blacksox.
I can't stand neither Emrick nor Foley, but I can see their
appeal. I personally like the Hawks' radio PbP guy. He does a
good job of just delivering the action without getting in the
way, unlike Emrick and Foley IMO.
Next round, if you're watching a game on NBC, here's a drinking
game you can play.
1 Drink if:
Emrick uses the word "knife" as a verb.
Olczyk uses either "good stick" or "active stick."
Pierre McGuire (the creepiest man in hockey; bar none) calls
Emrick "Doc" / calls Olczyk "Edzo."
2 Drinks if:
Emrick uses the word "finesse" as a verb.
Olczyk uses the phrase "good active stick."
McGuire refers to a player by his full first name ("David
Bolland," "Daniel Carcillo," "Nicholas Leddy," etc).
3 Drinks if:
Emrick either uses the word "paraphernalia" or some metaphor
("waffle iron") when referring to goalie equipment.
Olczyk uses some derivation of the phrase "...and hold it
right... THERE!" during a replay.
McGuire refers to a player's junior team, college team, or home
town
Slam your drink if:
McGuire makes mention of personal information of a player ("his
father was a dairy farmer in Saskatchewan.")
