After all these years, I still don't get the singular team
names. What do you call a member of the Thunder? A cloud? A
clap?

I just turned on ESPN2 and see that the Arizona-St. John's
Super-Regional game is on. White Sox 6th round pick Kyle Hansen
is pitching for St. John's and his team leads 5-1 in the bottom
of the 5th. Johnny Field, who is 0-2 on the day, is batting with
2-on and 1 out.

Arizona has now tied St. John's at 5-5 with AZ still batting in
the bottom of the 6th with 2 outs. Tying run scores on a error
on a ball hit by Johnny Field. Field now 1-4 with one RBI on
the day.

St. John's takes a 6-5 lead going into the bottom of the 10th.
Would have been a bigger lead but Johnny Field threw a strike
from left field to get a runner out at home. For the day, Field
is 1 for 5 with one RBI. 4, 5 & 6th hitters due up for Arizona
in the bottom of the 10th inning.

A leadoff walk, a sacrifice bunt (by the #5 hitter) and a single
up the middle by 5th year senior Bobby Brown, no not THAT Bobby
Brown, allows AZ to tied the game. Arizona still batting with
one out, man on 1st in the bottom of the 10th.
Another single. Brown advances to 3rd. Runners at the corners
and one out for Arizona.

Semi-intentional walk to Freshman catcher Riley Moore loads the
bases for Arizona. St. John's head coach heads to the mound for
a pitching change. Bases loaded, one out, tie game. A hit,
error, wild pitch, pass ball, HBP, deep fly ball will win it for
Arizona.

#9 hitter freshman 2B Trent Gilbert singles to right center to
drive in the game winning run as AZ takes game #1 of the Tucson
Super-Regional 7-6 in 10 innings.

The University of Arizona just beat Florida State University 4-3
in extra innings of a first round game of the College World
Series in Omaha. Johnny Field had the 12th-inning game-winning
RBI double and was named by ESPN2 the Capital One Player of the
Game.
