I know you can't really judge an NFL draft class for at least
2-3 years, but I think the Bears are doing a piis-poor job.
The WR in the 2nd round is okay, but their other three picks
totally blow goats. And be sure to do nothing to address the
Swiss Cheese OL.

Bulls Lose Rose to Season-Ending Injury

It was one of the rare instances when the final score is the
least important part of a playoff game.
With 1:22 left, Saturday's NBA playoff opener was heading toward
its expected conclusion, Chicago leading Philadelphia by 12,
when Derrick Rose drove into the lane, jumped to a stop and
leaped in pain. He came down clutching his left knee and
crumpled to the floor.
As an unsettling silence fell over the United Center crowd, Rose
was helped up and shuffled off to the locker room. The Bulls
finished off a 103-91 victory, and within a few hours of the
final horn, word came down that Rose had torn the anterior
cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee. He will miss the rest
of the playoffs and several months beyond that.

United Center plans retail space

Not far from the Michael Jordan statue, the United Center's
owners hope a $75 million to $85 million retail development soon
will take flight.
Chicago Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf is leading a venture that
plans to build 260,000 square feet of restaurants, bars, a team
store and event space in the sprawling parking lot east of the
arena, according to documents obtained by Crain's. Chicago
Blackhawks owner Rocky Wirtz would be part of the venture, which
could include team offices, parking, a terrace and a green roof.
The new retail structure on the H Lot would be connected to the
east side of the Madhouse on Madison with an atrium-like
entrance similar to the one at Wisconsin's Lambeau Field, home
of the NFL's Green Bay Packers.
The privately funded development would be another step in the
West Side neighborhood's evolution from a gritty area where
people venture only for Bulls and Blackhawks games to one where
more people want to live and have fun.
“We live by a sea of parking lots,” Ald. Walter Burnett Jr.,
27th, says. “People who live in the neighborhood would rather
have a structure and businesses because it would enhance the
whole community.”

High School Sports Reporter In Louisiana Wins The Day With This
Excerpt
High School Sports, Oh - Jason Lisk - May 17th. 2012, 5:07pm
A reporter for the Rayne Independent put together a summary of
what appears to be the local girls high school all-star
selections. Apparently, he had trouble tracking down the season
stats for one of the players, so he improvised with the best
update possible. Hailey Habetz’ parents now have a newspaper
clipping they can show to the grandkids someday memorializing
her accomplishments.

Former Bull Orlando Woolridge dies
2:44 p.m. CDT, June 1, 2012
Former Chicago Bull Orlando Woolridge was pronounced dead in his
parents' Louisiana home Thursday night, according to the
Shreveport Times.
Desoto Parish Chief Deputy Coroner Billy Locke said Woolridge,
52, had been under hospice care for a chronic heart condition,
the Times reports.
The Bulls drafted Woolridge in 1981 out of Notre Dame and he
played in Chicago for five seasons, before moving on to the
Nets, Lakers, Nuggets, Pistons, Bucks and 76ers. He retired in
1994.
The NBA suspended him for the 1987-88 season for substance
abuse.
"I think it is really tragic," Artis Gilmore said Friday from
his home in Jacksonville, Fla. "The last time I spoke with him,
he was working in the WNBA (as a coach of the Los Angeles
Sparks in 1999) and that has been quite some years ago."

Just notice on the TV programing guide, that in a few minutes
(10:00pm CT), ESPNU will be telecasting the NCAA Baseball
Regional live from Arizona.
Game scheduled is Missouri vs. Arizona. Hunnie's son should be
in the starting lineup for Arizona.

Hunnie's son, Johnny Field, is the University of Arizona left
fielder and bats second in their lineup. He led the PAC-12 in
hitting (.379 BA) this season.

Veterans Spark Cats To 15-3 Victory
Arizona's upperclassmen accounted for 13 of the Wildcats' 20
hits, and junior ace Kurt Heyer tossed his seventh complete game
of the season on the mound.

TUCSON, Ariz. - Playing before a crowd of 5,086 at Hi Corbett
Field, the Arizona baseball team pounded out 20 bases hits and
rode the arm of All-American pitcher Kurt Heyer to a rousing
15-3 victory over Missouri in the school's first home postseason
game since 1992.
Arizona (39-17), the Tucson Regional's top seed, faced early 2-0
and 3-2 deficits before erupting for seven runs in the fourth
inning. From there, Heyer shut down fourth-seeded Missouri
(32-27).
Joey Rickard, a junior, ripped three hits and drove in four runs
to pace a group of upperclassmen that combined to hit 13-for-23
with nine runs scored and 10 runs batted in. Juniors Alex Mejia,
Robert Refsnyder and Seth Mejias-Brean each tallied a pair of
hits, while senior Bobby Brown delivered four hits, two runs and
two runs batted in.
Heyer (W, 12-2) struggled early as he surrendered two runs on
two hits, including Blake Brown's run-scoring triple, in the
first inning. Then, after UA tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of
the first, Heyer gave up an unearned run on a pair of hits in
the second as the Tigers reclaimed a 3-2 edge.
The right-hander from Huntington Beach, Calif., was lights out
from there.
