One might consider a Chicago White Sox fan living in Seattle to
have bad luck. It rains a lot, your team doesn't visit
often...and so on.
Then Paul Dockal decided to bring his 9-month-old son, Bode, to
Safeco Field for his first baseball game on April 21. Paul
treated his son and his wife, Jennifer, to first-row seats
behind the opposing dugout.
And that's when the good luck started for Paul. Scratch that.
For Bode. The family witnessed Phil Humber's perfect game for
the White Sox in Bode's first-ever baseball game. Talk about
good luck.
"It's one of those things that, I don't think he could
understand how important it was for me to be with him until he
has a son of his own," Paul told MLB.com. "The first thing I
said to my wife was, 'This is the best day I've ever had with my
son.'"
So after lightning struck once, there's no way it could happen
again, right?
Wrong.

Fan arrested after plucking Adam Dunn's HR ball from drink

Any fan who is lucky enough to nab a piece of baseball history
at a game makes headlines -- and usually is rewarded by the team
or player when swapping the ball with a trinket or two.
Unless you're at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City -- site of this
year's All-Star Game -- and the ball you're chasing lands in the
drink behind left field.
A fan retrieved Adam Dunn's milestone 400th home run from the
fountain there during Saturday's game, and was immediately
rewarded with an arrest and possible fine. The fan, wearing a
Kevin Youkilis jersey and thus no doubt a follower of the AL
Central rival White Sox, was lucky enough to see Dunn's
milestone as well as Youkilis' -- he notched his 1,000 hit in
the same game.

Well, he is from the South...
Jordan Danks returned to the Sox after extending his streak of
reaching base safely to 30 games at Triple-A Charlotte covering
two stints.
Danks said he wasn't aware of his achievement until his wife and
mother told him.

I put it this way: Teams that are leaders in this year's
pennant races have stretch limos, Hummers and Excursions as
bandwagons. The White Sox: Fiats.
Oakland is a leader for the wild card and they don't have
stretch limos, Hummers or Excusions. The Orioles are right there
for the wild card/division yet they had 10K at a game last week.
The Rays aren't close to selling out even though they have a
shot at the playoffs. And none of those teams have another team
in their city that they're competing for fan allegiance with.
I get that the Sox attendance leaves people scratching their
head but they are not the only team struggling with that issue.
In fact, the Sox probably have the best attendance out of the
teams mentioned above.
