It's lame, but during the commercials you still see the live
feed. Hoping to see Garfein swear at some technician.

in this, his 22nd year in the major leagues. However, when his
career is over, possibly at the end of this season, Thome has a
job waiting for him with the Chicago White Sox.

Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said that he has a handshake agreement
with Thome that he can return to work for the White Sox after he
retires.

shook hands and agreed that, whenever his career is over, he’ll
come back to the White Sox in some capacity," Reinsdorf said.
"He did say that he wants to live in Chicago. Whenever it’s
over, hopefully I’ll see him back here. And I hope I live to see
him go into the Hall of Fame."

He's a prince of a human being, one who leads by example.
(Pre-empting the inevitable anti-Thome backlash.)

I've never seen Reinsdorf cowed like that before.
Clearly Thome is even more evil than we thought...

we kind of shook hands
What does this mean? Did they shake hands or not? Did one have a
limp hand, so not really a handshake?

we kind of shook hands
What does this mean?
Thome did the ol' extend-the-hand and then pulled away into
"hang it on the wall", thinking that was funny and original,
such is the tool that he is.

Maybe one of them, probably Thome, was wearing these when they
'shook hands':

I was sure that was going to link to something like this:

Nice to see the technology on these things has not changed one
iota since a Wee Jeter picked up the original S.S. Adams Co.
version at a Stuckey's somewhere between Chicago and St. Louis
back in the late '40's.
