In a video interview with Graham Bensinger of Yahoo Sports,
Ozzie Guillen says that he recently told White Sox owner Jerry
Reinsdorf that "If you want me to stay, a lot of things [have]
got to be better." Guillen also said, however, that he wants to
remain in Chicago and is fully committed to his current team,
despite some rumors connecting him to the Marlins job in 2012.
"It'd be an honor for me to manage the Marlins," Guillen said.
"Do I want to manage the Marlins? No, because I'm managing the
White Sox now."

The Dodgers are the new Pirates
According to a rough draft of the 2012 schedule, the Sox will
open the regular season on the road at Texas and play the Tigers
in their home opener. They will play interleague home series
against the Brewers, Astros and Cubs, and away series at St.
Louis, Los Angeles and the Cubs.

To me, watching a team play out the string is like watching
spring training in September. The story of the game itself is
secondary to waiting for certain players to stand out, for
better or for worse. Mark Buehrle and Dylan Axelrod can get
shelled in back-to-back games, but one of those players needs
that start to gain a foothold on a major-league roster, and it
isn't the guy with 159 career victories.
This past weekend gave us a good look at three players who
should have sizable roles on next year's team if management will
let them. Beyond the actual results -- which have been great --
I think I'm starting to pick up some patterns and traits that
aren't always documented on scouting reports. Feel free to poke
holes in my observations -- or supplement them -- as we start to
get to know these guys.

and while he doesn't cover all that much ground in right, he has
yet to mess up anything he can get to. Throw in the outfield
assist on Sunday, and the Sox can definitely live with Viciedo
in a corner spot for the next few years
Yeah like the double that bounced in the seats that even Quentin
would have cought. Yeah right. Count me unimpressed.

Robin Now Leads Batmen
Congratulations to Kenny Williams and Jerry Reinsdorf and all
others with the Chicago White Sox who managed to pull not just a
complete surprise, but what is likely to be a long-term
brilliant maneuver, in hiring Robin Ventura as the team’s new
manager.
If anybody in baseball history has ever been better prepared
psychologically for the roller-coaster of managing, I can’t
think of his name. Ventura was probably the most unflappable,
even-keeled player I’ve ever met – completely immune to the
impact of wins and losses, interviews and ignorance, the media
and the fans. He focused on exactly one thing: playing the game,
and helping his teammates play it nearly as well as he did.

Here's Why Ventura[/center]
Adam Dunn is going nowhere.
Neither is Alex Rios or Jake Peavy. They are useless and
expensive White Sox property until somebody else wants them.
Kenny Williams lost his poker bet, after he pushed Jerry
Reinsdorf’s chips to the middle of the table and birthed a
regrettable marketing slogan. Now, he’s entrenching – cutting
payroll, giving chances to whatever young players he can while
hoping against hope that his bad bets can be salvaged, somehow.
