That Hideout place looks fun. Elsewhere, there is shyt for
lodging in the area if you don't want to stay in Carbondale (and
we don't!).

Have any of you been to Reggie's on South State? What kind of
place is it? Trying to make a list of likely places for my band
to play in Chicago.

Yes, saw the Tubes there. Small, w/ very limited seatiing; a
little balcony-type affair (more like a loft, over and behind
the bar) with couches and a few chairs is the seating. On the
floor, you stand, it is angled downward toward the band so you
can see over people to a degree. I will emphasize that it's
small. . .so if you guys suck and people walk the phuck out of
there, it won't be as noticeable and you'll still feel like
there's a decent crowd even though there are like 20 people and
half of those are your ugly girlfriends.

Well, it's a given that we'll suck, so thanks for the info.
Considering that we're a quartet... if we have 10 "ugly
girlfriends" there, that's better than 2 apiece, so... all to
the good. Quantity, not quality. The American way, you know.

Hey folks, just a bit of info. 6/23 will be my last day at IBM
and that will be the end of my email addy that I have used since
I have been on the Sox forums.
Andy, I have my new gmail addy listed for this site, if someone
wants to get ahold of me, you can email them my new email addy.
I was planning on retiring in July once I hit age 55, so when I
gave them my 3 month notice in April they asked if I wanted to
leave earlier and allow me to bridge to my birthday with a LOA.
I said sure thing. Best thing is I think I saved someone else
from getting axed for at least another year. Now I can visit my
daughter in Kansas even earlier, she is expecting her first
child and her hubby just went to Afghanastan about a month ago
for a year tour. The best part of being resourced rather than
just retiring is that I also get a nice chunk of money that I
can use to travel a lot this first 1/2 year off. So I am sure I
will be heading down to Chicago way at some point in time.
Now I can get back into trout fishing up here too.
