Future's past: Emergency Meetings

(This is a flashback thread between Tikal (Float) and I, set
back in Sapphire and Float's timeline, when they where younger
and still in Mobotropolis.
It's a bit of practise for us for our arc later, and also to
give you guys a bit of an idea of their past ) :D
What a busy day today has been!
Sapphire sat with her feet dangling off of a dining room chair,
watching as her parents rushed around the house, looking for
things, putting things in front of themselves, considering to
wear it before chucking it aside and shaking their heads.
What was the rush all about, anyway?
She'd already asked both of them, twice, but they simply didn't
answer, stating that they where 'too busy' and she needed to be
'patient' and wait for her turn.
Her turn at what? Rushing around the house?
She let out a soft gasp, does she get to run around the house?!
Better yet, does she get to run around the house and chuck
things about like mum and dad?!
She didn't want to wait for her turn any longer!
The small bright blue hedgehog wriggled with excitement and
struggled to get off of the chair, she was so small! One day
she'll be big, right? Like Mummy and Daddy?
She landed with a soft thud as she gently hit the ground,
slipping off of the chair, landing on her rather fluffy tummy.
She quickly scrambled to her feet, she wasn't going to waste any
time that she could be spending running around the house!
Usually she wasn't allowed to run around to house, because she
might break something, but... If Mum and Dad are doing it, she
should be alright, right? Besides they said she would get a
'turn'. She wanted it now. She'd been doing a lot of nothing
today.
Her parents had both gone and disappeared down the hall, and
hadn't come back yet, so she wandered over to the pile of
clothes they'd left on the floor, and didn't even hesitate at
diving into the pile. She disappeared for a few moments before
springing out of the top of the pile, and bursting into a fit of
giggles, laying on her back.
Her ears perked up, footsteps. Sounds liiiiike... Dad!
Mum and Dad have different sounding footsteps, and she'd been
listening to them go up and down that hall all day, she could
now tell the difference between them.
She buried herself under a suit and a large sweater, and watched
her dad walk back into the room from a small gap in the clothes.
Staying as still and as quiet as she could manage.

He walked into the room, he had heard her shout out something,
he knew he had! But where was she? "Sapphire?" He called out,
scanning the room for any trace of the smaller blue hedgehog.
"Little Blue?"
Upon her nickname being said he heard a light sound come from
the pile of clothes on the floor a few steps away, he smiled.
"Oh, gee, I wonder where she could've gone?" He said loudly, as
he slowly crept over to the pile, which giggled.
He crept around the pile, so that Sapphire could no longer see
him.
As he suspected, the pile moved, she was trying to find another
gap to look through to watch him. He shook his head and knelt
down scooping up some of the pile, as well as his little
daughter.
"[b][color=royalblue]Gotcha!" He grinned as he got down and laid
on his back, tossing her up and down, into the air, then back
into the safety of his hands.

Sapphire laughed, her hands outstretched, as she tried to reach
and grab his nose or an ear but she never quite made it before
she was tossed into the air again.
"You found me! You found me!" she laughed, as she instead held
her arms out to the side, she felt like a bird when she was in
the air. She even waved her arms up and down whilst in the air.
Both blue hedgehogs where all smiles and laughs till another set
of footsteps came rushing into the room.
Her Dad looked up, after catching Sapphire one last time, then
he gently set her aside, and got to his feet. Sapphire was a
little disappointed that she was no longer a flying bird,
sticking out her lower lip slightly to show her disappointment,
but her small pout quickly turned into a smile, "Mum!!" she
shouted happily as she ran over to Amy, who had just came into
the room, and hugged her legs. "Mum! Mum! Dad found me! Dad
found me!".

"Oh" Amy looked down at Sapphire, then knelt down and scooped
her up, "That's lovely sweetie, we don't want you getting lost!"
She said as she rubbed her nose against her daughters, "luckily
Daddy's good at finding things that are very important, huh?"
She added, smiling, as she looked up at Sapphire's father.
"Speaking of finding things, did you find the thing for
Sapphire?" She asked, as she cuddled the little blue hedgehog.
He nodded "Of course" he smiled, hands behind his back.
She frowned, "Then where is it?" she asked, trying to see his
hands.
"Uh uh, I want something in return first, this was way past hard
to find" He said as he shook his head walking over, and used one
hand to place a finger on his mouth. He glanced at Sapphire and
gave her a grin.
Amy of course knew what he was asking for and leant in closer to
give him one.

Sapphire was excited, she was gonna get something!
She liked surprises! She watched as her Dad walked over, asking
her Mum for something in return for finding whatever it was they
where going to give her. She giggled at Sonic grinning at her.
Dad was so silly!
She frowned when her Mum leant closer to him. Oh No! She knew
what that meant! She squirmed in Amy's arms, trying to get their
attention, but failed.
She crossed her arms and pouted, giving a loud huff, as she
covered her eyes with her little hands.

Sonic saw Sapphire's little huffy pout, and laughed, and just
rubbed his cheek against Amy's, not doing what Sapphire thought
they where going to do, "She's got your pout" he said, sticking
his tongue out at Amy. Who rolled her eyes, shaking her head.
"No, I'm pretty sure she has yours.
Sonic placed his hand on his daughters head and ruffled her
hair.
"You can look now" he said, as he leant down so that he was eye
level with her, putting his nose against hers. Which made her
peer through the gaps between her fingers, and see her father's
smiling face. She quickly uncovered her face and grabbed his
nose. "Gah!"
Amy and Sapphire laughed. And Sonic crossed his arm and stuck
out his lower lip, "Yep, she definitely has yours" Amy smiled,
as she placed a hand around Sapphire's and took the little
hedgehogs hands off of her father's nose.
Sonic tapped his right foot and brought out into view something
in a package, giving it to Amy, "There it is" he said, taking
Sapphire from her.

Sapphire was held out in the air by her Dad, and her Mother took
no time in taking whatever it was out of the package and
changing Sapphire's current clothes, which was pretty much just
a plain coloured t-shirt, for it.
She wriggled around in the new outfit, giving her parents a
rather displeased frowny face. "eeehh" she gave the air a light
kick, "Mum, what's this for?" she asked, "We're going over to
visit Aunty Sally and some of the others over at the castle, in
a few minutes, don't worry, Dear, Your father and I will also be
wearing something, we just wanted to get you dressed first" Amy
said as she set Sapphire back down on the chair she was sitting
on before. "Could you sit here for a few minutes and wait for us
to change?" she asked.
Sapphire slowly nodded her head, swinging her legs back and
forth. Amy smiled and put a finger under Sapphire's chin,
lifting her head up, before walking off down the hall. Sapphire
frowned sadly and her gaze returned to the floor. Her ears low.
Sonic knelt down in front of Sapphire, who looked up at him,
"Hey, chin up, Little Blue, it'll be fun, the other kids will be
there!" he said, which made a small smile appear on her face,
"Other kids? Really? And I'll get to meet them? I'll get to
play?" she asked, her eyes wide and hopeful, as she pushed
herself up, standing on the chair. He nodded, "You sure will!"
he smiled. She gently grabbed his ear with the gunshot wound and
rested her head against his.
"Alright, I better get ready, otherwise your mother won't be too
happy" Sonic said softly, as Sapphire let go, he shot her a
smile along with a small wave as he disappeared down the
corridor.
(Outfit looks similar to this, I couldn't help myself

A few moments later Sonic and Amy returned into the room with
Sapphire in it, who was still standing on the chair she'd been
set on, she held out her hands as Amy picked her up.
As soon as Amy had picked up the little blue hedgehog, Sonic had
quickly scooped Amy up, "Oh!" Amy gasped, as she hugged Sapphire
close.
Sonic grinned, and rested his chin on the top of Amy's head for
a few moments, "My two special girls" he said, before he kicked
open the door and stepped outside, letting the door close behind
them. Before zooming off towards the castle.
Seconds later the three Hedgehogs had arrived at the castle,
since Sonic's hands where occupied, Amy held Sapphire in one arm
and used the other hand to knock on the large castle doors.

The large doors were pulled open by Sally Acorn, who smiled
faintly at her two friends and their daughter. "Sonic, Amy! It's
great to see you!" Sally exclaimed, hugging her two friends.
"And you too, Sapphire!" She grinned, pulling down the young
hedgehog's hat slightly. Her smile was bright as ever, but she
seemed a bit distracted as she glanced back into the palace.
"You're actually the first ones to arrive, other than..." She
glanced at Sonic for a moment, before holding the door open and
standing aside for them to enter. "Well, maybe you'd better just
come in."
The quartet entered the palace, making their way through the
opulent halls and chambers to what looked like a rather casual
meeting room. Big was waiting for them already, conversing
cheerfully with a worn-out looking fox holding the Acorns'
daughter, Float. The fox's twin tails twitched slightly as he
gave the entering group a small wave, eyes lingering for a
moment on Sonic and Sapphire. "Hey guys. Long time, no see."
Big also turned to greet the new arrivals, waving happily and
seemingly unbothered as ever. "Hi there! Me and Tails were just
talking about you guys!"

Float, meanwhile, was having a blast playing with the fox's
round, orange goggles, which he had been kind (and patient)
enough to lend to her. She was peering around the room through
the tinted lenses when she caught sight of her Mama coming back
with three other people. Float squeaked, and quickly pushed the
goggles back at Tails before squirming out of his grip. The fox
set her down and put the headgear back on, watching with a
slight grin as the small hybrid dashed towards her mother.
"Mama~!" Float cheered, hugging her mother's knees tightly. "Hi,
Mama!"
Sally smiled, patting her daughter's head. "Hi, sweetie. Do you
remember Aunt Amy and Uncle Sonic?"
Float blinked up at her mom before giving a small nod, turning
and waving at Sonic and Amy. "Hi!" Float blinked upon noticing
Sapphire in Amy's arms, hesitating a moment before waving at
Sapphire, too. She immediately hid behind her mother's legs,
hiding her face in her hands. She peeked back out at the other
girl through her fingers.
