Bunnie's Back

As Sonic sped away from the desert whatever energy was left in
the power ring had faded and the gleaming gold circlet vanished
into thin air. He held Bunnie in arms smiling at his escape and
her daring rescue. It felt good to be working with a Fellow
Freedom fighter again. As he skidded to a stop he gently set
Bunnie down and jumped into the fountain at town square seeing
as his feet were on fire. Sonic gave a sigh of relief as the
cool water soothed the burns. He stepped out of the fountain
feet dripping wet and offered a surprised smile. "Thats one hell
of a gut instinct you've got there girl. So what brings you back
to the capital? You and Ant really miss little ol me that much?"
He asked ribbing her with his elbow.

Bunnie caught her breath and smiled, leaning onto the fountain,
however let out another hearty giggle when she was hugged,
"H..hold on now, Sugarhog! You're as wet as a pig in the Middle
of June!!" She however, couldn't help but hug him back, it
really has been so long!
"Weeeeeell! I wanted to take a gander at the old Knothole in the
ground! I missed it! Antsy wasn't too keen on me going! But ya
know him~ He worries so much! If I linger about here long enough
he might follow behind like a lil duckling~ "
She grinned as she readjusted her hat, "And my Gut's never
steered me wrong! That's the ol Rabbot gene!" She nodded, then
tilted her head, "Buuuut enough about me! What in the WORLD were
you doing in the Desert, Sugah? And why don't you have any
shoes? I mean, TAILS told me your usual pair got destroyed! Want
me to holler at Rotor??"

"It's a story longer than Snivley's nose. All you need to know
is Robotnik's up to no good as usual. As for the shoes would you
believe time boom." He said tapping his foot. "Nah I've got a
friend at least I think she's a friend working on them. I should
be back up and running again soon. Speaking about Ant you are
aware that your husband has been flirting with my girl right? I
mean brains and all this to I don't even know why Ant is looking
at other women."

She blinked, a little confused, "Wha?" Her usually standing ear
flopped, "Why, When was this, Sugah? Me and Antoine haven't been
down here for months! And pardon mah French... But Antsy ain't
exactly a good flirt. Never has been, never will be! But that's
what I love about him! Just the sweetest thing~ Not to mention..
he's still kinda chicken hearted around Sally what with her
rejectin him so much for so long~, ya know this!" She thought
about about it, "Speaking of that, How IS Sally? I haven't
spoken to her in a few months!"

Sonic shook his head after placing his hand behind it. "About
three weeks ago he was here B." At the mention of Sally his
heart sank. He looked away his eyes trailing to the ground.
"Sal....I wouldn't know she's still at that snooty private
school for stuck up jerks. I proposed the first chance I got to
visit her.....She said no. Something about me being immature not
leader material. I lead the Freedom Fighters pretty freakin
good." He said that last part quietly with spite in his tone.
"Seems her tastes have changed being away from home.Good to see
your still the same old Bunnie. Nice to know somethings stay the
same."

"My Stars!" She gasped, "Sally said THAT?! The moment ya feel
safe you just... kinda try and keep onto it yanno. Don't beat
yourself up about it Sonic, I haven't even seen her myself!
I...I mean you JUST said you got a girlfriend! Well who is she?
She's one lucky Gal to be with a sweetie like you!"
Bunnie never meant to upset Sonic, that's the last thing she'd
want to do. "Why... Three weeks was around our anniversary,
Sugarhog! And Well If he was Flirtin with some other Fillies
then he must've been trying to get the gumption to try and be
se'xy!" She giggled, "Now don't tell him I said this but that
sweet coyote had rose petals all over the house, and candles and
was gonna make this HUUUGE meal for me, even though his souffle
blew up in his face and his lil attempt at a full Monty? Well he
tripped a bushel of rose petals and I had to take him to urgent
Care instead because he done Sprained his ankle!" She giggled,
"B..but really! Don't tell him I said this! He'll be as red as
tomato!" She winked, pulling Sonic into A Hug, "So unless he had
crutches, and was being over dramatic about his lil injury...
then that wasn't my Antsy!"

Sonic burst out laughing his ass off as Bunnie held her arms
around him. "Hahahahaha ohhh man thats classic Ant. Heheheh
He....then he Hahahahahaa ohhh man I'm surprised he didn't fall
into the cake at your wedding." He said with a snicker before
looking puzzled. "So if it wasn't Ant then who was it? Nobody
else has an accent that thick. Oh and my girl.....yeah she's a
thing. Words don't really do her justice she's the kind of
kitten you need to meet to get the whole picture."

Bunnie smiled and chuckled again, "I'm not gonna fib... I did
think he would~" She tilted her head, "I gotta meet her!
Whenever ya can, Sugarhog!" She couldn't help but smile, "I'm
just glad... aside from that flubbup you're doing alright~ Still
being the hero and whatnot too~ Though that's never gonna
change, huh?"

"It's what I do Bunnie." He told her looking around with his
eyes towards the sky. "Speak of which I'd say it's time to get
back to what I do best. Again thanks for the save. I've gotta go
hunt down that friend who has my shoes. Cya later." He said
heading off towards the back allies.

"Just be careful Sugarhog!!" Bunnie called out and waved,
"Please don't get in trouble! I don't have another Power Ring
for a bit!!"
She looked around, "Now I better figure out where to hunker down
for the night... Call Antoine too~ "
