       Puppies make everything better
By: Sapphire Date: September 30, 2014, 9:56 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
After escaping from Robotnik's lair and running across water out
of fear, just to get away, Sapphire was back in Mobotropolis
city, walking, rather slowly, which was odd for her, down one of
the less active streets. Her ears where low and she kept looking
around, as if trying to find somebody, but she never saw that
       somebody...
She started to walk a little faster, stopping every once in a
while to stand on the tips of her toes, she was so short.. Which
was why she went in the less populated area of the city in the
first place, so she could see around better. But even here she
had trouble seeing around her, people weren't see-through, and
she was just too short to see over them, trying to find the
people she wanted to find seemed almost impossible to her at the
moment, she huffed angrily at herself, then raised her right
arm, popping open the empty red bracelet, and sighing, Robin
could've found the people she was trying to find... But he was
also someone she was trying to find..
She closed the lid and finally looked back up only to bump into
someone, and fall over on her back, the other person looked a
little older then her, and not happy that she'd bumped into him.
She scrambled to her feet and held out her hand to him, offering
to help him up, but he shoved her hand away and stood up
himself. He was also a lot taller then her. And had a small
group of also tall friends behind him, who all looked annoyed at
       the small blue hedgehog.
"Watch where you're going!" The one she'd accidently bumped into
hissed, as his orange feline eyes narrowed into a glare, that
made her legs feel weak. She fiddled with her hands nervously,
and looked down at her boots. "I-I'm so s-sorry" she said very
softly, not looking up at the leopard. "You better be sorry" he
sneered, she glanced up, hoping he would stop there and just
walk away with his friends. But he didn't, he insisted pressing
       on.
"what's up with you're fur? You a Sonic fan girl or something?
Thought he'd notice you, if you dyed your fur blue or
something?" He asked, in a tone that certainly could've been
said a lot friendlier. "I'll let you know, the blue makes you
look stupid, should've kept it the usual brown" he added.
Sapphire shook her head, "..No.. I was born with it like this.."
She muttered, chewing her lower lip, she knew he wasn't going to
believe her, and he of course didn't.
"You little liar, no one's just 'born with blue fur'" he spat,
one of his friends who looked like a porcupine muttered
something under his breath, that everyone was suppose to hear
except Sapphire, but he wasn't very good at muttering his words
       quietly, "[sub]yeah, except mutants, guys she's a mutant[/sub]"
they all laughed, except of course, Sapphire. She hugged her
arms, and continued to stare at her boots, trying to just ignore
them, "Yeah either that or a lying Sonic fan girl" he turned
back to Sapphire and leant down, so that she found it difficult
to not look at him. "[sub]I..I said I was sorry..[/sub]" she
said too quietly for them to hear.
She just wanted them to leave her alone, she was in no mood to
prove them wrong or fight back, so all she could do was listen
to them. But she didn't want to listen to them either. He
forcefully pushed a finger against her chest, which was enough
to push her backwards a little, she tried shooting him a mean
look, but it came out looking more sad then angry, "so which one
is it? You a freak or a lying fan girl?" He asked, sneering down
at her. She wanted to say 'neither' because she wasn't either,
but she could feel that knot in her throat which made speech
pretty much impossible, so she just shook her head again. "She's
not either..." A canine friend of his said, which made everyone
look at him, including Sapphire, "..she's both" the response
seemed to satisfy the leopard, but it crushed Sapphire further,
she had thought for a second that he was standing up for her
then... "come on guys, let's just go, mutant fan girl doesn't
seem to say much, she's not worth anymore of our time" he said
as he gave Sapphire a hard shove sending her back to the floor.
"Oh, hey you're looking blue, why don't you go cry to Sonic?"
He and his gang of friends walked away laughing.
Sapphire didn't react to anything until they where completely
       out of sight and earshot.
Once they where, She shakily pushed herself up, back onto her
feet, and hugged her arms tightly, closing her eyes for a few
moments while taking in a deep breath, she refused to get upset,
       before she continued on.
She dragged her feet as she walked now, and only stopped once to
look at her reflection in a puddle she'd walked into, she
sighed, she tried to push away what they had said, tried to
dismiss it, they where wrong...right? But what they'd all said
was fresh in her mind. Maybe she could try doing something she
liked to get her mind off of it? Maybe that'd help? Well,
walking around wasn't finding anyone she was looking for so why
       not?
She thought of things that usually always cheered her up, Sonic
was of course the first thing to come to mind, she rubbed her
eyes, Sonic, where did he go? Was he ok? She hoped so. Sonic..
Mutant Sonic fan girl..oh, that's not helping. That's not
       helping at all...
Her tummy rumbled, Chilidogs, she should have a Chilidog, they
where good and helped made you feel better...right? Digsby's
wasn't at this part of the city, and she didn't feel like
zooming to it at the moment, plus it was the place where her and
Sonic usually got Chilidogs together, so that probably wouldn't
help. She looked around and found no Chilidog stands or even
food stalls or shops, but she did spot a pet shop. Maybe that'd
be better? She loved animals after all... But seeing them
trapped behind glass was something she greatly disliked. She
took in another deep breath. Just this once Sapphire, just this
       once, ok?
She made her way over and gently pushed the door open, upon
opening the door she heard a bell ring, letting the store owner
know there was someone in the store.
The store owner was a canine with multiple different patterns on
her fur, who wore a nice smile. She watched Sapphire come in,
       but didn't say anything.
Sapphire's eyes darted around the small shop. Small. She sighed
quietly, that means small cages. It seemed rather quiet for a
pet shop, the last time she'd been in one, all the dogs barked,
all the cats meowed and all the birds chirped. None of those
noises where heard here. In fact, now that she looked around, no
animals where here either, what kinda pet shop was this? She
hesitantly strode over to the canine store owner, and opened her
mouth to ask, but was cut off, "let me guess, where are the
creatures?" Sapphire nodded, "Right this way~" the canine said
as she opened a door behind the counter and held it open for the
hedgehog. Sapphire hesitantly went through the door, which lead
to a large room, full of animals who weren't in cages, but where
running around and playing. Her eyes lit up, "we don't like to
keep them cooped up, so we let them play in here" the store
owner said, "you can play with them if you want to, don't worry
they don't bite" she added, smiling.
Sapphire nodded enthusiastically. Then went over to he nearest
animal, which was a small white puppy, with black and brown
patches, and patterns, it reminded her of her own puppy... She
quickly gave it hug, and it gave her a lick on the cheek, with
it's soft, warm pink tongue, which made her smile.

Hours upon hours later, Sapphire finally managed to leave the
store, she should of left much earlier, but she their where so
many animals to play with and to get to know, so it took up a
       lot of time.
Feeling much better now after getting to play with all the
wonderful animals, Sapphire headed back to the more populated
part of the city, ready to try and find her friends and help
       out.
