The Strange Fruits [????]

with Ialis. Any other Replies to this thread that are not under

After that rather bratty outburst from that really rude child,
she seemed to be taken to the rooftops a few blocks away from
the Natural History Museum.
She rubbed her cheek, eyes rather watery as she honestly had
never met anyone as rude as that little Hedgehog!
What could possibly be the reason why he assumes women are good
for such things?!
Who taught him that?!
She looked around, then towards the dapper dressed Fox... that
seemed to glow occasionally.
"A...ah thanks for helping me out?" She squeaked out, realizing
she was still rubbing her slightly stinging cheek and quickly
hiding her hands behind her back, a cautious smile, "I mean...
sorry for snooping... b..but you can't be bad right? Maybe???"

His glow remained nonexistant, as the sharp-dressed Emulan
tugged on his gloves, adjusting them and inspecting them, just
in case that...creature were to emerge again.
"You are most welcome, miss Flavie." He was leaning on a nearby
wall, no doubt containing a stairwell to the lower levels of
whatever building they were on. He had yet to turn his brilliant
glow back on, opting to remain as inconspicuous as possible.
"To give myself an alignment of good or evil is too
black-and-white for me, or my kin. Often the term to describe us
is 'neutral'." His eyes narrowed, stretching a small line of
photonized thread to make sure it still was able to flow.
"To put it into context, it does not matter that he is a child.
Were he, or his bearers a target, he would be as expendable as
the rest. As in....I would make that vermin the same kind of
example that I have made of many others. I do not play the part
of 'hero'. I do what must be done to ensure that my homeland
remains safe.....protected."
He took a breath, sighing softly. It still rung in his
mind....both facts.
The fact that a creature so small and so young could be so
judgemental and abhorrent....
.....or the fact that Ialis himself had toppled regimes, slain
warlords, crippled agents, altered the courses of nations
without being ever noticed, and yet a CIVILIAN could trip him
up.
"However, that seems a role more fitting of you. It is not often
that I see someone with such initiative. I commend you for your
courage. But at the very least.....when you're tailing someone,
come armed."

" Oh..." She muttered, "Well I suppose that's true~ I mean...
It's usually Bad guys being whooped by Heroes around here!"
She blinked and tilted her head, "Orders...? Homeland? I... I
mean I've never seen someone who GLOWS like that! Where are you
from?? Ifyoudon'tmindmeaskingotherwisedon'tmindme??"
She fidgeted then thought about his last remark, shifting her
foot and did a playful knock on her head, "Yeah.... haha I just
thought it was some... well normal person? I mean I can defend
myself in hand to hand... Juuuust... not with the weapons you
have?"

The black-patched operative shrugged, as he retracted the wire
back into his glove.
"I cannot disclose much, but I was under orders from my nation
to be here. Things far larger than this city's matters are
afoot. I am merely collecting information for a good cause.
Thoooough I do find it likely that I'll be turning that...thing
into a pile of crimson paste at some point." He glanced her way,
a brow raised.
"You managed to follow a special ops agent into a museum and
catch him. Nothing normal about that. The only difference is I
am well-equipped to eliminate any potential risks to my cover
being blown. Though part of me being right here is to make sure
things remain that way." He paused for a moment, then added, "I
am not planning to hurt you, don't worry! Merely keeping track
in case you think to put out a phone call....iiiiin which you'd
be losing that phone. You know. Security reasons. But you are
most definitely safe." He adjusted his tie, looking her way.
"Speaking of....are you alright? Your disposition seems to have
changed since the little incident. What's troubling you?"

She blinked, and quickly pocketed her phone, "A...ah! I won't
tell anyone I promised!!" She gave a meek smile, then continued
to listen to him, "I didn't know you were a special ops! That's
SOOOO COOL!" She exclaimed, then shifted her foot again, "I
mean... for a special ops your technique is a little...
Mmmmmn... Not to sound rude but it seems super familiar to me~
Like it didn't take long to see how you hacked anything, yanno?"
She did sigh slightly, "I'm glad... well you're not gonna kill
me... I never got to finish my bowl of ice cream before I chased
after.. e..erm you!" She smiled weakly, "Is your nation full of
super cool secret agent type guys like you??" she asked, however
her ears lowered when he asked for her well being.
"A..ah! No worries! I'm Okay!!" She chimed out quickly, "I...I
was just taken off guard!!"

He sighed softly, huffing somewhat at her remark. "That is why
there are wires and weapons at the ready. Anyone who trails me
can be silenced quickly. My hacking is more for engineering, not
covert ops. Still have to work a little harder at it. The code
I'm using to hack is along the same line of coding I use to make
THIS happen." He allowed himself a second of glowing, as one of
his six blades glided from him, floating around his arm.
"As for how many there are of my type....only one. I am the
single one of my kind who can shut the glow off." He smirked, as
he retracted the blade, and his brilliant patches vanished once
more.
"Well...do not worry about people like him. The only folks who
see fit to subjugate women are those who are desperate to
compensate for their lack of power, initiative, or resolve. Boy
talks big talk and strong-arms when he doesn't get his way. He
isn't the first, nor the last I've seen."

"I... could probably help you out with being more discreet?" She
muttered, watching at awe of the floating blade.
"Wait...! So your kind can Glow? But you turn yours off??"
Flavie chimed, tilting her head, and then just staring at his
glow before it vanished. "Still really cool!"
She smiled slightly, "He... probably just needs a good time out,
that's all!"

Ialis pondered it a bit, before sighing, albeit softly. "A
tempting offer. Your talents certainly outdo most of the regimes
I've contended with. You are quite the talented little meddler!"
He teased with a grin.
"Yes. I am the only one of our glowing kin that is able to shut
it off. It's why I'm the only special ops from my homeland. As
for the whelp...." He sighed softly, "I do quite tire of seeing
the apple falling so closely to the tree, if you get what I
imply."

Flavie smiled brightly, "I kiiinda wanna do Hacking and Security
for a Job? If that makes any sense? I mean... Thanks! That means
a lot from a kinda scary but super polite assassin guy!!"
She tilted her head, then nodded, "...You think his parents are
like this as well??"

"Well hey, it'd be nice to have another operative in the fold."
He snickered, taking her remarks as compliments.
"Scary is exactly what I want to hear, miss. Though I do
appreciate being considered polite. As one should with any job,
a certain level of class should always be expressed." His smile
shifted to a frown as he considered the possibilities.
"It is possible, though for me, there are only two. Either his
parents were killed BY me, or they're no doubt going to be on my
target list at some point."
