A Longing to Ancient Times [Mobotropolis Museum]
By: Ialis Date: September 11, 2014, 2:39 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The night's cold air nipped at his long ears, the sharp-dressed
Emulan slowly making his way through this new setting's streets,
       eyes darting about.
       Analyzing.
       Preparing.
Calculating his moves six paces ahead of the next. After all,
secrecy was his trade, and never being seen was his skill.
....on the job, anyway. Anywhere else he was practically a
       lightbulb.
As he casually made his way to the target building, his eyes
narrowed at the massive structure, the city's local museum.
Surely the information he'd need would be within, but he had to
do it quietly. No one was to know he was even there.
He slowly made his way around to the back, before quietly, and
slowly, exhaling, closing his eyes....focusing. Suddenly, those
brilliant emerald patches patterned throughout his frame
vanished, even in his eyes, turning dead black.
       It was time to begin.
He began to work his way from the back of the building, aware of
the alarm system that ran throughout the structure. A small
keyboard appeared on his arm, which he began typing rapidly
into, lines of code flowing in a smooth stream up his tiny
       device's holoscreen.
He was hacking the security system, and in seconds, it was
disabled. He casually opened the back door, and made his way
inside, eyes narrowed. Closing the door behind him, the next
thing he saw was the flashlight beams of a nearby guard, who
hadn't noticed him yet...but was making his way towards the back
       door.
With a swift locking of the back door, and a suave adjustment of
his tie, Ialis vanished from existance, as his suit - and him by
       association - vanished from sight.
The minute the guard moved by, the silent Emulan made his way
into the deeper archives of the closed museum. Like any mission,
he took it seriously, and an undercover mission issued directly
by Vanja was an exceptional one.
His goal was any information he could find on 'sentient floral
fauna,' something that until he had heard and seen reports from
the Emulan Ranger and Vanguard duo, would have considered the
       content of folklore.
It was all very real, and he needed to learn more. His only
potential lead for information at the moment was this museum,
seated at one of the largest cultural hubs in the known realm.
It was a long shot, but at least it could possibly be a lead.
Deep within the chambers of the museum, Ialis began to sift
through the information archives, determined to find what he
       sought.

Flavie got a cute chime, an alert on an app on her cell phone,
In an oversized promotional shirt for a video game, and a pair
       of boyshirts.
"Hmmm??" She slid her bowl of ice cream and swivel chair towards
her bed, as she looked to her phone, her eyes widened, "The
Museum?! Why would anyone possibly hack there??" She popped up.
"I've gotta find out!" She proclaimed, popping out of her chair,
holding her ice cream bowl in one hand, as she hurried to get
one of her hoodies, her messenger bag with her laptop
equiptment, and hurried out of the door, only to run back to put
the ice cream in the freezer and to put on a pair of flats.
Eventually she made her way to the museum.
Looking around, "Huh... I wonder if I should tell Sonic about
this..." she whispered, as she smiled brightly, "This could be
the thing I can do to be a hero!"
She looked towards the phone app, "All security systems seem to
be offline..." she muttered as she looked around again, and
hurried to the coordinates where the hack began.
       ...Which was the back door.
She carefully opened it, looking about, her excitement to track
this hack throwing most caution to the wind as she messed with
her phone until she managed to pull out the museum's schematics
       and began her pursuit.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Ialis looked disappointed; not only was there little to no
information, but access to these deep areas of the museum was
       so....simple, easy even!
       "No failsafes, no lockdowns....nothing. It's so simple....a
low-grade thief with a major in engineering could get through
this." He huffed, ears flattening out as he browsed every
database the museum could ever have. Eventually, he lost the
       patience of manually accessing it.
"Pft. Primitive design, weak interface....LAGGY. Why is it
laggy?! This is modern day...!" He growled out betwixt bared
teeth, before just flicking open his interface, and outright
hacking the database to get what he wanted.
He got both flora and fauna....but rarely anything between. Even
the results that yielded anything like a hint
were...disappointing at best. No doubt they'd never seen a
plant-type infection before. It was still new even to the
       Emulans!
He sighed, closing out his hacking applications, and packing up.
He quickly put two fingers to his earpiece, eyes narrowed.
"Milord, this is Ialis, reporting from Mobotropolis."
"Understood. I need a full report, agent."
"The mobians know nothing of what we've encountered. All of
their information is....vanilla, at best. No details, no
infections.....they've seen plenty of strange things, but this
       one isn't one of them."
"Acknowledged. Your mission is complete. We will merely have to
seek other leads for information. Return to base, Agent Ialis."
"Understood, sir." And with that, the earpiece was off, and the
       rather-femininely-proportioned, sharp-dressed Emulan made his
way slowly out of the depths of the archives.

After dodging the lights of a security guard, she stopped, and
stumbled upon a dapper dressed Mobian, a few feet away as she
hid a little and listened in.
As whoever that is stopped talking to whomever that was, she
breathed deeply then blew her cover,
"A...ah... er, excuse me...? But did you hack the security
system here..??" She managed, still her phone in her hands.

-Being of royal status Manik easily made it past the patrols and
checkpoints without little hassle. He wandered into the house of
history following the roo. When she made her presence to the
glowing oddball as to did he. He shook his head walking out
hands held behind his back.- You a hero? Don't make me laugh.
Women like you a better left to preparing food and bearing
children. Tell me what makes you think you could be a hero. A
female fighter I've never heard of such an outrageous idea. I
should have you beheaded before your foul mind infects other
women to do the same. Let me tell you what father told me. Women
are to be seen not heard and they are to obey not play. These
are the wise words of king Max. You would be wise to obey them.

The instant her voice uttered her first word, the entire room
lit straight up with glowing wires, which were around the entire
premises, in tune with the suit-wearing Emulan, whose species
became VERY apparent the moment those patches on his body lit
up. However, noting that was a shortened task, given it was
followed up swiftly by a series of floating sabers all zipping
off of his person, and circling around Flavie, blade points all
       aimed at her.
"You have made a very big mistake following me he-" He turned
around, eyes widening slightly as he noticed not a heavily-armed
soldier or warrior, but a girl with a cellphone.
       A civilian.
A CIVILIAN GOT THE DROP ON HIM?! He couldn't think of something
either more embarrassing, or more ironic. Hesitantly, he lowered
the saber blades, but the Photon Threads remained woven
throughout the room, leading up to his plated gloves.
"Who....the blazes....are YOU?" He was more surprised than
anything, he had to know the name of the one casual girl who was
able to find him. Speaking of which...
"....and second off, how on earth did you find me?"

Flavie jumped and looked around, looking down towards the small
blue hedgehog, "A...ah! You scared me!!" she squeaked.
...Until he started to start saying such... well harmful things.
"A...ah.. erm...." she began, her ears lowering, "W...what makes
me think... H...hey!! I'll have you know I've won a few
tournaments! And I'm too young for kids! I don't even have a
       boyfriend!" She argued back.
She did seem a bit frightened when he threatened beheading,
"W...who are you exactly?! Have you ever been to mobotropolis
before?! My best friend is super cool and can fight lots better
       than I could! That's mean! I mean.."
She squealed a bit the moment she saw the wires and sabers
about, starting to tremble and all thoughts of stopping this
hacker went out yet another window.
"A..ah! T...this was a bad idea....." She whimpered, as she
looked to the now glowing fox,
       "I... I ... Erm.. M..my name is F...Flavie!" She began, trying
to get her nerves back, "I... tracked you by my phone... I kinda
keep track of any odd hacking... and this was the only one
       th...that went off so...."

The dapperly-dressed Emulan raised a brow at the sight of the
other newcomer, rather displeased by his disposition.
"....well. He seemed......dated." He mused, sighing as he
       pinched his brow.
"Flavie. Okay. I am.....shocked. Do not worry, I am not going to
harm you. I am just.....astounded. You are not of any military
background I know of, nor do you share the same hardened
assassin-like attitude. Yet here you are, the first, and a
civvie at that, to spot me. I am impressed!" He clapped his
hands together, before spreading his arms quickly, every single
wire of photon thread retracting into his gloves.
"However, you should not be here."

Manik seemed unimpressed with the light show and simply yawned.
"No Women are worthless. You there orange slag. You are to
escort me to a place of business then make me sustenance. And
you there I don't know who you are but I'm sure you are not
meant to be here.Leave now and return all the items you have
stolen or I'll call the guards. It's okay we can blame it on the
       woman."

"You're telling me!" She whimpered, "B..but... you thought I was
an assassin?" She had a small smile, rather proud, even more
because he seemed... happy that she did this.
"What are you? Are YOU an assassin?! Like... You probably
could've just killed me and everything b..but.. and you're like
       hacking things.. and... that'sactuallysupercool..."
She began to fidget again, "A...civvie.. as in Civilian right?"
She looked back towards the small hedgehog, "N...no they are
not! Stop being mean!" She retorted with a pout, "And I won't
either! Why should I do such a thing to someone so rude!"
