Reflections and Mistakes

Hours had passed, and Shoke was still searching for Sapphire.
Since the tracker he put in Sapphire's bracelet was melted along
with most of Robin's housing, it was glitchy and barely worked.
Shoke sighed sadly. The sun had almost set and he was lost in
the park searching for her. Where could she be? He looked over
to a bench and sighed. The cold wind flowed through his fur,
causing him to shiver. He walked over to the bench and sat down,
looking up at the sky. Ever since he came to this place, he's
been going through challenges he's never had to deal with
before. Shoke sighed. Where did he go wrong? Sonic... merely a
day ago he and Shoke were good friends... where did he go wrong?
Shoke looked down at the ground, the wind piecing his heart and
making him feel cold as the grave.
Shoke reflected on his past experiences with Sonic and his
friends... he remembers his first day in Mobotropolis, that
outside the city he encountered someone, who did not get along
with him. But afterwards, he met someone from the military and
found his way into the city, marveling at the sights and the
rustic beauty of it all. The civilians were kind, and the food
was good. But eventually, he found himself stuck in a mess that
would change his life forever. He had been transported into some
sort of massive airship alongside Sonic, Sapphire, Forte, and
others. Under the leadership of Sonic, he had fought androids
and had helped Sonic's young fox sibling, Tails. After that was
more or less silence. Peace, really. Everything was nice...
until the ninja girl got him into another hell of a ride. He
ended up encountering the Songbirds and attempting to help save
thousands. There he and Sapphire got more acquainted, with Shoke
being on the verge of dying from anti-magic overdose. Where he
started to fall in love with her. It was there were he met the
dangerous goddess that's mere presence killed thousands...
something that Glaciem was most definitely affected by. Shoke
had to leave, to go assist his people, to lead them. To help
them through the crisis. After massive ceremonies and tonnes of
funerals, and his first real experience of the hardships of
being King. He slowly but surely gained the ability to come back
to Mobotropolis, but it seemed there was some sort of temporal
flux between his visits, because apparently there was a massive
event... that didn't happen, except it did? Shoke shook his
head... that leads to now. Things were silent after arriving
back, but things were odd, he couldn't find certain people he
remembered. But eventually, Shoke met Sapphire's evil version,
Crystal. Then... then emotions. Him and Sapphire spilling
emotions everywhere, sharing their hardships, revealing secrets,
eventually leading to them finally embracing in love...
Only to lead to an argument with Sonic... the argument with
Sonic.
Shoke regretted every second of that moment. Every word he said,
every movement he made, every breath he took. He made a mistake,
and probably broke a friendship that he may never be able to
mend.
Shoke sighed. Looking up, he saw that the moon was in full view.
It was three-quarters full...
The chilling wind blew through his fur again, causing Shoke to
shiver. He never had so many thoughts at one time... Shoke
thought to himself... to his mother. His birth mother. He only
knew her for a little while, but he remembered a poem she used
to tell him.
"Every being on this world
From the big down to the small
Is capable of weakness
And it's not wrong at all.
Since life is about learning
Not hatred, war, or pain.
it's about overcoming differences
And learning we aren't the same.
But The world is larger
Than us within these walls
And when we meet those beyond
We hope to welcome them to our halls.
Once we overcome difference
We unite to form true power
power that lies within each other
And not something learned in a tower.
The world may be large
And we may be walled in
But our hearts will always be open
Even if a war begins." Shoke said to himself, tears flooding
down his face.
It was too late to fix this mistake... but hopefully he could
find Sapphire.
