A Tale for Two

A portal appeared a few streets away from the house in which
little Kyro and Tails where currently in. A few moments after
the portal appeared Shoke came tumbling out of it with Sapphire
right behind him. They hit the hard ground and rolled across it.
After tumbling a little more, Sapphire finally managed to stop,
lying flat on her back, her stomach rising and falling with
every huff and puff. She stared up at the blue sky and watched,
for a few seconds the puffy white clouds slowly take shape of
nameable objects and animals, she was watching a specific one
which looked like a dog chasing a power ring before suddenly
being disturbed by Shoke, who was now lying across her tummy,
making them look like a cross, after having finally stopped
rolling also. She winced, because of course the cuts and scraps
they'd gained from rolling on the hard ground of the sidewalk
hurt, and lifted her head, checking to see if Shoke was alright,
he was, and had like her, only gained a few cuts and scraps. Now
whenever she huffed and puffed it would make her tummy, and
Shoke rise and fall, she laid her head back down on the sidewalk
ground, and laughed. "Oho man that was way past fun! It hurt a
little, but it was fun! We should do that again!" She grinned,
finally sitting up to smile down at Shoke. "Heh~" she raised her
right arm, and flipped open Robin's bracelet lid, his device
screen lit up upon opening and came to the tracking screen, but
Robin himself did not appear to be there, if he was he wasn't
showing himself. Sapphire's smile slowly changed to a concerned
frown. Robin was always there. Always. She chose to shrug it off
for now and just checked where they had landed. Closing the
bracelet once more, she turned her attention back to Shoke, who
was still in her lap. "Tails' is close" she pointed down the
street" just a few streets down there and we should be at his
and Sonic's house, if I remember correctly".
She smiled at him again, and after a moment or two her smile
turned into a Sonic-like grin "Just need you to get back on ya
feet so that I can too, then we can get going~"

Shoke groaned a bit, then rolling off of Sapphire and getting
up.
"Fun. Yeah." Shoke said, somewhat drained. Shoke reached down
and pulled Sapphire up.
"So, just down the street? Lets go then." Shoke said as he began
to walk down the street.

After being pulled up by Shoke and feeling the rather cold
ground beneath her feet, Sapphire remembered she'd left her
boots, socks, gloves and left arm bracelet behind after being
tugged through the portal by Shoke.
When he started walking down the street she quickly went after
him, and started walking just a few steps ahead of him. She
looked to the sky again, trying to find that dog and power ring
cloud again, only to let out a loud yelp as a sharp pain shot up
her right foot, she stopped and lifted her foot to see what it
was that hurt. She saw only a small yet rather pointy rock
sitting on the spot which her foot had been. She huffed, and
kicked the rock aside. Then looking back up her eyes widened,
"Oh for the love of Chaos.." She muttered under her breath. Of
course the path had rocks smothered all over it, not just rocks,
but the small sharp and pointy kind, the ones that when you step
on them it feels like stepping on a block of Lego. She took in a
breath and kept going, trying again to stay just ahead of Shoke.
This time she watched her feet as she walked, trying her best to
avoid the rocks. She glanced at Shoke, in the moment she looked
away from her feet, she'd stepped on another rock, she bit her
lower lip, and ignored it, "Sooo- uh um-" stupid small pointy
rocks. "Er- what are we gonna say to Tails exactly when we get
th-"another rock, she bit down harder, "-there? ..I'll probably
have to say I'm Sonic's little sister that was back from a
holiday or something, like Sonic said for Amy" she said, quickly
looking back down at her feet, as she carefully started stepping
around the rocks again. She quickly glanced at Robin's bracelet,
"and Robin, I know you're really excited to see little Tails
too, but remember he won't know who you are, and telling him
exactly who you are will probably lead to bad results.." She
said the last part softly, thinking to when she tried to explain
to Sonic who she was. "So let's try and stay contained ok,
Robin?"
He gave no response back, staying deadly quiet.
Sapphire gave him a concerned frown again, then went back to
watching out for rocks.

Shoke quickly turned to Sapph when she yelped out.
"Sapph! You alright... oh." Shoke said as he noticed her having
trouble with sharp rocks.
"Um... do you... want me to... carry... yoouuu?" Shoke asked,
nervously. His face was turning read once again.

"..Carry me?" She said looking up at a red faced Shoke, she
thought about it for a moment before responding "nah~ I should
be fin-" another sharp pain to the foot from another blasted
rock because she hadn't been paying attention again. She bit her
lower lip for a moment and then sighed, looking away.
"[sub][sub]..Fine..yes.. Could you please carry
me..Shoke...[/sub][/sub]" She said softly, her ears lowering as
her face too, went bright red.

Shoke picked Sapphire off the ground, holding her in both of his
arms. This did not help his blushing. Not one bit.
"So... sorry about leaving and having you forget your boots..."
Shoke said embarrassedly, beginning the walk to Tails'
establishment.
"Is... is there any way I can make it up to you?"

Sapphire looked up at him in disbelief "make it up to me?"She
shook her head, "Shoke, you.. You helped me when I was injured..
You captured my Anti, you saved Robin-" she started listing all
the things by counting her fingers. "-you stayed by me for over
four hours as I slept just to be there when I woke up so you
knew I was ok, and now you're helping me save my younger dad..
and now you're asking me how you can make it up to me just
because I left my speed boots and gloves back at Glaciem?" She
shook her head again, "How am I suppose to make it up to you?!
Holy chaos you've done so much.." She leant backwards in his
arms, dangling her hair, which swayed back and forth as Shoke
walked "You're starting to make me feel a little useless, heh~"
she laughed, then returned to her previous position "but
seriously, you've done so much for me, and what've I done for
you? Next to nothing.. A small kiss on the cheek is nothing
compared to what you've done for me, heck you've even kissed me
on the cheek as well.." She looked away sadly and sighed, "You
might wanna start writing up a list of things you want me to do
to make it up to you because I'll soon start to forget because
there'll be that many things.."

Sapphire's praise was most definitely not helping Shoke's
blushing, in fact, it might be making that worse.
"I don't need to be repayed. I'm a king, I can get anything I
want without much problem, so me helping people is just
something I do. No one ever needs to repay me, because in the
grand scheme of things, it won't matter. If I asked people to
repay me it'd just be cruel and unfair. Besides, seeing people
alright is more than enough payment for me." Shoke said to
Sapphire, hoping she'd understand his reasoning.
"Though, you could be my navigator. I don't exactly know where
we're going, at least no more than 'this way'." Shoke said,
letting out a soft chuckle.

"King or not I'm repaying you your highness~" she said
teasingly, knowing which buttons to push and when to push them,
hopefully without pushing it too far "It wouldn't feel right
..not repaying you.." she added softly, noticing his blushing
getting worser and worser, she smiled and to make it worse, she
gently nuzzled her nose into his cheek, while putting her right
hand against his chest, running her fingers through his fur.
"Navigator~" she cooed. A few seconds later she blinked and
shook her head, "..uh-navigator! Oh-uh- right! Ahem" she
coughed, looking away from Shoke, and looking at where they
where instead "..We..We're close, it's just a few places down.."
She muttered, as she finally started going bright red.

Sapphire pressed the wrong buttons, and after she pulled the
whole 'your highness' thing Shoke shot her a glare.
"Don't-" Shoke said angrily.
Then Sapphire nuzzled him.
"No..." He said, tears in his eyes. He stopped in what appeared
to be panic, his eyes filled with horror and sorrow.
He dropped Sapph and ran off, running in the opposite direction
Sapphire directed him.
He ran off down into a nearby alleyway, and after running for a
little while he hid underneath a bridge.
"..." Shoke curled up into a ball, thinking. Why? Why did she
have to do that...
"...Aurora... I'm sorry..."
