Re: [Act Three] Get Down to Business

The young fox continued his stroll, looking for any trace of
anyone, aside from the stalker who left. As far as he knew, he
was on his own. He couldn't help but wonder, though, if there
were others.
However, he quickly disregarded the thought, as he concluded
that his new experimental equipment was a resounding success!~
He was ready for everything that could come of this weird shift
in the town life.

[There is also the shield problem I have to deal..but the only
one who could bring down the shield is Venus herself..and
unfortunately I'm no good at this science stuff..but I will find
a way somehow] he thought to himself. [But starting from the
park I will walk around to see whether the humming gets louder
or fainter depending how far I travel to other areas..if
successful..maybe I can find out what is causing that noise,
affecting certain mobians and get to the bottom of this ghost
town] He thought to himself as he begins to walk around the park
through the trees and such and having his ears twitch and turn
to try and hear out the humming.

With all his equipment in order, and in top shape, the young
fox's next order of business....
....was that hum. He wanted quiet. This was anything but. He
grunted, continuing his stroll through the park with a slightly
furrowed brow.

Karahl looked about the park as she moved about the treetops,
between and behind benches, through playground equipment and
other various obstacles. She was careful to remain undetected by
the other two for now, briefly investigating to see if anyone
else was here. So far, as far as she was aware of, only the
three of them were here at present. That of course, asides from
the constant humming.
She figured that she still had some time to spare, then allowed
her curiosity to take her about the park to see if she could
find the source of the humming. If it would lead her to need to
leave the park, she will investigate it at another time. She
wanted to stay here for the time being. As she moved closer
towards where she thought the humming was coming from, she
noticed that Ty was also heading in a similar direction. Even
though she considered Ty to be an ally she didn't feel the need
to make herself known just yet and instead, try to see how much
she could satisfy her curiosity through stealth and from afar.
Up until this point she had pushed thoughts about the recent
broadcast to the back of her mind. As disciplined as she was,
even the mention of Sonic - as well as Tails' reports - were
quick to seep into her mind. The only advantage to her mental
training, meditation being so strict as to keep her controlled
and see through days of near-starvation without completely
losing herself in a crowd of... delicacies within the city; was
that she was able to hide her increasing anxiety. Should anyone
were to look at her over the last few days, one would see
nothing behind her respectfully-cold exterior. What she was
truly feeling, couldn't be anywhere near the professional
charade she had put on.
The last few times she saw Sonic since this whole ordeal
happened, was about a couple of days ago - around the time of
Venus' broadcast, outside the Police Station. After that, when
she had visited Flavie's Apartment seeing as the two were
apartment neighbors. Sonic had been behaving strangely, then the
next day he goes missing... Tails' report of his heart
stopping... now public confirmation of him gone missing. All of
this happening since Venus' speech about the world being better
off in a peaceful manner without heroes.
'This cannot be a coincidence. Surely not.' she thought to
herself, frowning deeply, 'Chances are, what if she were to use
Sonic's disappearance to make an example of him? However, if her
expertise is with Robotics, and Sonic has frequently gone
head-to-head with Robotnik on a regular basis... what could she
had possibly done to him that Robotnik couldn't? Had she lead
him into a trap? At the Diner they appeared to be friends...
Surely he was somehow tricked?'
The tigress stifled a growl, her diamond-coated teeth clicking
against each other with anticipation again.
'It seems I have even more reason to go through with this
Contract. Not just for the money to support my family, but for
Sonic as well.'

Eventually the Emulan Fox found himself a nice spot at the heart
of the park, where it was quiet, save for the hum. No one
around, no distractions.
He sat down, tinkering with his shield, his equipment. His
thoughts wandered.....he had met so many people, some unique and
different, others foolish and infuriating. Some clever and
dextrous. Some who spouted praises but never followed through.
Some who were dedicated. And then there was Venus, the
enigmatic, but yet not so elusive on occasion. Sure, she was
hard to read, but at the same time, he had a good sense that
there was more to her....more than what she let on.
With a quiet sigh, he evaluated his experiences, a light smile
across his cheeks.
He had gotten the adventure he so yearned for. It sated his
appetite for a change of pace, but by how much was unknown,
given he wanted still more. He just wished that he'd run into
certain folks less, and other folks more often. He also felt
like he was growing up a little.....that the woman who trained
him to fight would actually be a little proud of him. ......not
that said woman smiled much amidst that perma-furrowed brow, he
was sure he got it from her.
The things he'd tell his friends when he got home! The tales of
adventure, exploration.....the folks he got to know! He was
excited, and considered bringing Udiya along with him. However,
there was also the other side of the coin....
....he'd definitely warn Emulus of those who were far worse than
his heated temper. Those who resorted to violence. The
particular hybrid who he deemed nothing short of a 'petty
villain', the foolish folks who spouted nonsense.......that
'soldier' who threatened his companion Udiya, the list went on.
However, it was a spice to the tales he'd share, and it made him
all the more stoked to talk about it, even though a good chunk
of those thoughts of Emulus came with that same steely glare and
commanding tone of an all-too-familiar woman. He chuckled a bit
about it, wondering if Venus herself would like to meet her,
given as far as he knew, they shared some traits....like being
incredibly stoic.
Haha....they'd become fast friends. He surmised with a soft
laugh, polishing his saber, pistol and shield.

For those who couldn't seem to focus because of the humming...
If one noticed that there seemed to be odd butterflies about the
park.
Beautiful wings, ethereal, incandescent and near transparent
wings as they carefully fluttered and shifted about.
They landed and roosted on benches, on the slowly reconstructed
playground and monkeybars, and on the lap posts that were slowly
starting to light up.

The spry Emulan continued his testing, trying to see if he could
attribute skills to his bulky shield. Finding it to be a
suitable melee weapon of its own made him smile a bit, as it was
light enough to wield easily, but sturdy enough to be able to
bash someone with.
As he closed the shield's brilliant colored barrier down again,
he noted the strange insects with a raised brow. Carefully, he
took steps towards one, curious. He wanted to see if one would
land on his hand so he could get a closer look.

Ty continues to try and determine how faint and loud the humming
sounds with his ears turning in specific directions as he walks
further down the path of trees until he stops and notices a
strangely colored insect [a butterfly?] he wondered as he
thought to himself. The hybrids curiosity has sparked up and
then remains at his spot to stare at it to see what it would do.

Karahl's ears lowered, the humming was starting to feel numbing.
Another careful glance around the park indicated that nothing
she was specifically looking for. The tiger frowned as soon as
she noticed the butterflies, quite a few actually. She had never
seen them before... their incandescent wings... the tiger wasn't
a fan of lights or glowing. A ninja has power in the dark, where
as light reveals their presence.
'I wonder if they are a result of this humming?' she pondered,
wasting no time in pulling out a kunai and throwing it directly
at one of them from her perch on a tree. She then dropped out of
it and landed softly on the ground - right beside Syruchi
actually, to see if she had hit her target.
(Please note that the butterfly she was aiming for was not the
same one as the one Sy is moving towards. Most likely one near
it though.)

One of the Butterflies took instant notice to Syruchi. As its
small needle-like legs crawled against its hand.
However it stopped abruptly, then fluttered away.
Another Butterfly wasn't as lucky to fly away however.
The Kunai Hit its mark; a high pitched squeal from the dying
insect was all the sound it made.
It was apparent the few around that now dead drone seemed to
take noticed, their humming louder, as if to alert.
If Karahl noticed, the odd bug seemed to be sparking, then its
wings became completely transparent.
Any other butterfly began to move in a hive like mentality,
quick to fly and scuttle towards the kunai-killed bug as if to
investigate.
