She set down the teacup and examined the ring, "I have never
seen anything like this... I honestly wish to study it." she
muttered, after a few moments she muttered, "...I suppose I will
figure that out once I do a few procedures in due time."

"So it was the ring that was making him act like that? I've seen
those before, there was a pond, or lake, that produced those
rings." Shard mentioned as he looked to it
Of course, it's the ring! There's no way Venus is that cruel to
others! She must've down it to make him let go
Shard glanced at Sonic, it seemed quite out of place for him,
but a thought came to mind, "[b][color=yellow]Venus there was
one other thing I wanted to talk to you about, what do you
consider a hero? I remember Simon asking about it in the park,
and you said someting about it in your broadcast, but I was
wondering what your answer would be"

"Is that so... how interesting..." she muttered, her eyes
narrowing as she made a mental note.
She looked to him, another question.
"I do not believe in such a term. Those who use that on
themselves are selfish, violent beings as they care little for
their own image above others."

"Oh wow.... that's far from what I would've thought." Shard
looked to her a bit remembering what he said himself in the
park, "I can agree, people who use it like that can be selfish.
But as i said to Simon, calling someone a hero is biased."
He looked to sonic and pointed out, "For one, he isn't a hero,
at least to me, but the city, well they see differently."
He took a step back for a moment, "Self proclaimed is one thing.
But what you do is what really matters. I believe in heros, at
least in what they do. Sure sonic is a grade A example jerk, I
mean who would hurt someone like Simon, Protoka, or Galeno?"
Ok he had to take it back about Portoka, he was kinda mean to
him, with all the glitchy stuff, "I don't care about what people
call themselves as, I just care on what I call them. Isn't that
all that matters? I can't really name any as a hero, but I can
tell there are some. I mean look at metal, though we ended up
fighting, he did come to save you."
He looked back to Venus, "And in all honesty, you're the only
one who I'd consider a hero." He cringed for a min, knowing she
wouldn't like being called that, "You're protecting what you
love, and most of all, you did believe in me, even though what I
did. After all that, even now with Sonic... It may not be the
best, but you're doing your best to change things, for the
better, aren't you?

When Sonic was roboticized into Mecha Sonic had a second
personality that was altered by Robotnik's Brain-Burn-Thru
software which suppressed his normal one for the most part.
Sonic's true personality resisted the programmed one, which
eventually led to his restoration. It is also shown due to the
energies of a power Ring Sonic had collected, his personality
remained intact despite the roboticization. It seems power rings
help fight off the effects of mind control and help one return
to ones true self. Sonic was disrespecting the mouse he once
held in high regard because he witnessed her go full villain. As
a hot shot hero blue has zero tolerance or respect for bad guys.
Now Venus's chip was functioning flawlessly and the fact it was
located at the base of his brain steam Sonic was finding it hard
to near impossible fight back. His memories had been altered to
in her eyes make him the perfect child for mother within reason.
The power ring he held before allowed Venus to worm her way into
his memories but allowed Sonic to remain himself.
Maurice didn't want to interrupt her conversation as he felt
nervous about angering her. He tapped her on the shoulder and
stuttered out. "Mo....mother who is Sonic?"

"Everyone has a different opinion on what they consider a hero.
Did you not just ask me for mine?" She remarked. "No one needs
to be called a hero... is it really so hard to simply do the
right thing without the petty title. The point I am making is
that as you could see those who use the term have taken such
offense to it that they call me such vile words."
She walked over to Sonic, "You've called yourself that for
years... I take it... you are not fond of that n..nick name...?"
Her ear twitched as she frowned to Shard, "I would wish you
never to call me that. Ever. I am a mother. That is why I
protect those I love and cherish."

"I....have...but....my name is Maurice Mother. W..hy would I
call myself Son..ic. I'm just....me." He looked down to the red
shoes and the stylish scarf. "Mother why am I wearing stylish
clothing and running shoes?" He asked confused.

Whoops, he hit a nerve. Guess calling her a hero wasn't the best
choice. But he wanted to emphasize, being a hero was biased,
even to those who call themselves that. Well if anything, it was
good to have that clear in the open, "I'm sorry Venus, never
again"
He waved his hands, showing he was sorry, and didn't mean any
disrespect, but he had a question, "Um Venus, what is your next
move? Like what do you plan to do once you get to meet the
crown?
It saddened him a bit, but it was what she wanted. Sonic however
did confuse him, "Sonic is your name isn't it?"
He listened to sonic as he spoke, "Maurice? But you always went
by Sonic..."
The stylish clothing bit made Shard wonder, at least his ego is
still there

She kept herself near Sonic, "I am sorry.. Maurice... I suppose
it is a nickname among friends..." She smiled as she looked to
his clothing, "You tend to wear such things around your
friends.... Who am I to stop you~?"
She looked to Shard, "...If I am able to meet with the crown and
find a resolution without sudden cause of betrayal and me being
sent towards the dungeons... then the shield will go down."

"Resolution? Just what kind of resolution are you looking for
exactly? I know you're trying for peace, but how will talking to
the crown help that?" Shard asked, He kinda wanted to get the
answer to this, because the one thing that confused him what
exactly did she plan? Of course meeting the crown can be done,
but what did she want to talk about? What did she want to change
exactly in the city? Of course she said it was for peace, but
looking at Sonic and how he changed, he wonders if this is the
peace she was talking about. Or was he confusing this with the
effects of the power ring?
