Roleplaying Etequette guide

Spelling grammar & sentence structure
The first and most important rule of Roleplay is proper spelling
and sentence structure. Please make sure your posts have mostly
correct spelling & grammar using capital letters and full stops.
Additional grammar skills are also welcomed but the basics are
all that are needed to make sure the Role play flows and is
understandable.
An example of a bad post is.
Tails runs in and punches the wall.
This is far too short and isn’t even a complete sentence. Posts
like this are fine from time to time but try not to make every
post you do like that. Also they are undetailed we have no idea
why Tail’s is doing what he’s doing and he has ignored most of
the other players. If you post like this a lot chances are you
won’t get many responses.
An example of a good post is.
Sonic assumed he was just being friendly and leaned on his hand
looking bored. "Yeah chocolate sounds fine. Just make sure it's
not too rich yeah never been real big on sweets." Sonic's eyes
followed Venus as she walked in he had a small smile. "This just
got a whole lot more interesting."
Notice this is a complete sentence and is structured well. From
this we know what Sonic is doing why he is doing it and we are
also aware that Sonic is fully alerted to the environment around
him. He is even noting characters in the background he is not
directly interacting with because it lets other players know you
are aware of them and will warrant people to interact with you
more.
Fighting
When you engage with other member in combat it is very important
to respect your opponent and their decisions. You CAN NOT land
hits forcefully on a character or determine the damage done that
is up to the other player.
Here is an example of how to rp fight.
Forte: With that he clasped hard to his black rings as more Fire
appeared, as he hurled rings of fire at Sonic while trying to
dash and barrel into him yet again.
Sonic: One for being quite the show off Sonic jumped through the
rings of fire sent his way striking poses after dodging through
the middle of each one like a trained seal. He was careful not
to touch the sides as his skin was still scorched from the last
attack and it hurt like hell. Sonic zipped past the dash attack
and yawns fond sitting on a rock behind forte as an attempt to
mock him.
Notice the dragon’s fire did not automatically hit Sonic. He
posted shooting fire and Sonic reacted with an appropriate dodge
because he decided the reaction to the attack and the level of
damage done to his character.
Example of how not to RP fight with another member
Shadow sped towards Robotnik and shot at him using high powered
rounds. The bullets entered the doctors head killing him
instantly.
You see here shadow has both forcefully made his attack hit and
decided the other players level of damage was death. You do not
have control over if your attacks hit another character let
alone the level of damage that is left to the player of the
character being attacked. Note villains are allowed to bend
these rules a little for story purposes and because they are
often the target of multiple foes. This is often because the
villain in question is rped by an arc host trying to give you a
story.
Basic Etiquette
If you join a thread and you don't understand just ask! But
please don't assume people will post or cater to you.
Be patient with this being a forum the beauty is the rp is not
going anywhere. Do not pester people for replies ask them
politely. People have their own things to do away from the site.
Respect other people's decisions do not badmouth another person
out of character.
