Sharks, Demons, and OH MY... (Ripper and Reck) {CANCELLED}

Ripper had wandered into an old zone that he SWORE looked
familiar... The old mystic look had mystified him and he was
wondering what it was that he needed to find here... according
to Skathe, some badniks had found emeralds here before, but that
was THEN. This is NOW. He wondered if this place was more
connected with the atlantis zone...

The porcupine had discovered a source of mana buried somewhere
deep inside labyrinth zone. One night while he was studying in
his library. Reck had packed a small rucksack full of a few
essentials. A small knife some rations and a sleeping bag. The
porcupine had his spell book's carrying strap around his neck
under one arm. Strapping the rucksack on his back the porcupine
opened a portal and stepped through.
He hadn't ever been to labyrinth zone. So he had to use a map to
find the coordinates.
Stepping out of the portal Reck found himself outside of a
temple. The place smelled like a spring. The natural waters that
fed the temple were fresh and clean. Reck filled a canteen from
one of the springs before making his way inside. He hoped the
mana spring wasn't too deep in the temple, or under water. His
last experience in water wasn' too grand.
The inside of the temple was beautiful. Gold stone covered in
ancient carvings. This place was once of great importance. Reck
could tell just by looking around. The smell of water inside the
temple was more intense than outside. Spike traps and auto
spears lined the temple pathways.

Ripper had wandered around the endless maze, dipping into some
water and effortlessly dodging the spears as if this were his
own home! A few rusted badniks here and there, but he was
interested in seeing if he could find a chaos emerald that he
had heard about. His efforts would very well be in vain, but he
wanted to try.

Reck carefully made his way through the labyrinth. The place was
massive. Twisting and turning were all it felt like the paths
did. He moved carefully, watching the traps. He was hoping to
sense the magic through the maze to help guide him, but had no
luck. The porcupine made his way to his first flooded tunnel.
Reck let out a very over drawn sigh.
The porcupine put his spell book in his ruck sack, and sealed
the bag with magic. No water would get in the bag, but he would
still be soaked. He cautiously got into the water. Reck took a
deep breath and with some mental preparation submerged. The
water was pretty clear and didn't seem to bother his eyes. He
swam rather slowly at first getting a feel for the water
current. The currents varied in speed. Some slow and easy to
swim. Others flowed with dizzying speed.
The porcupine felt himself struggling for air. He hadn't seen
any places he could go up for air. Reck struggled to the top of
the tunnel and used it to guide him. He swam for a while more.
Bubbles escaping his mouth as he struggled to maintain his
consciousness. Then from out of nowhere a water bubble filled
with oxygen refilled his lungs. He found a small area a short
distance later. It didn't contain much. A few old statues and
some loot, but this was not what Reck was after. The porcupine
decided to take a break here for a few minutes.

Ripper had heard something under the water and looked around...
Looking for what that noise was, he hops out of the pool of
water and sees the porcupine. "Hello? Who the heck might 'you'
be?"

Reck is leaned against the wall in the small room. He looks to
the stranger who just lept from the pool."I was always taught it
was rude to ask who someone was, before you introduce yourself.
That sure was some way to ask. To answer your question." Reck
steps away from the wall. He's preparing himself for anything.
The porcupine had no clue if the stranger was friend or foe. "I
am Reck the porcupine. Who might you be?" Reck might be a little
paranoid and creating false tensions, but he had someone hunting
him. This stranger could just be one of the lackeys.

Ripper looked slightly embarassed. "I am sorry about that. I am
kinda straightforward and wary myself... The names Ripper the
shark" He points his thumb to his chest. "You don't need to be
so nervous. And I didn't mean to scare you if I did mate."

Reck let out a sigh."Well you haven't attacked me yet. So that's
a good sign." The porcupine walked closer to the shark. He made
a circle around the shark. Reck was observing. The shark seemed
like a regular mobian. "May I ask what you are doing here in the
labyrinth?" The porcupine made his way back to where he stood
before. Reck had expected the temple to be empty. Robotnik
hadn't set up shop here in a long time. The creators of the
temple even longer.

Ripper rubs his dorsal fin, "I heard from my friends that a
Chaos Emerald might be here... So i'm checking to see if there
are any here. Nooooot really expecting much, given how rare they
are." He smiles to Reck as he monitors him, wondering about his
thoughts.

Reck nodded as Ripper spoke. The shark seemed to be telling the
truth, and Reck didn't sense any magic energy coming from him.
"A chaos emerald huh? Are you looking to make some money off of
it, or are you trying to see if your body reacts to the Chaos
energy?" The porcupine was curious. What was this shark after?
Reck being a wizard made things difficult sometimes. His job
required him to make sure this guy wasn't up to no good. Chaos
energy and mana are two different energy sources, but are both
forms of great magic. Reck's job may have just got a little
harder. He was only here to confirm and archive the mana spring.
Now he had to make sure if there was a chaos emerald here. The
shark would do no harm with it once it's found. Mobius was rich
in magic and the signs of it were everywhere. Mana and Chaos
worked hand in hand forming the lands.
