Nourishing Apex Predators (Karahl, Maria, Sonya, Blaze, Ty)

Ty's world remained bleak in darkness for an undisclosed amount
of time, being numb to a lot of chatter, machines and the sounds
of a cart being pushed to another room, whether or not the
latter happened recently or it already happened hours ago, meant
little to the unconscious mobian, until he open his eyes
everything is going to look exactly the same regardless. Many
hours have passed and Ty's body still have no signs of bare
minimum life. His mind is stuck in a dream-like state, thinking
about himself playing a game of golf in a vastly expansive park,
sporting appropriate attire to better suit his enjoyment.
No one else seems to be around to watch him play and that's
fine, the less distractions the better, Ty placed himself in
position of where he would feel comfortable, he touched the ball
with the golf club gently, raised it up and struck the ball into
the hole. Satisfied with a smile, he rushed over to retrieve his
ball out of the ground and walked over into a different spot to
repeat his method. Everything seems to be going well for him,
no Robotnik to worry about, no rude people to ruin his day,
going to the park to play goft is a brilliant idea, until he had
       to wake up.
Back in reality Ty groaned and sttired his eyes until they
opened, he saw a white ceiling with tiles decorated with bright
lights of the same color, initially his vision is blurry then
his sight became clear. He sat up and glanced over his body,
noticing his left arm and right ankle are covered in caskets,
his tail wrapped in bandages as well. He examined his chest to
discover a patch around the right shoulder area. "What?....Where
am I?" its hard to tell of his head received the same treatment
but he can feel it throbbing a lot, he examined his surroundings
to get an answer, spotting a red cross on a cabinet told him
everything he needed to know, Ty ended up in the hospital.

For Sonya so far since she’d been back from her mission
off world it’d felt like she’d barely gotten a
minute to breathe. But that was to be expected as of late
she’d had more than she could handle emotionally and as
much as she just wanted to float and let reality seamlessly pass
her by that wasn’t an option for her. As per usual they
were overwhelmingly short staffed within the hospital so that
meant that the balance of many lives weighed heavier on both her
and her adopted fathers shoulders per the norm. And naturally
the amount of added stress hadn’t put him in the best of
moods more so than usual. The sound of their synergised
footsteps echoing down the polished hospital hallways Sonya
quickened her pace, to keep up. Her surrogate dad surprisingly
swift in his movements despite one wooden leg. “Keep up
Sonya! We don’t have time for any of your useless dawdling
       tonight!”
Her expression creasing in annoyance the fox medic quashed the
temptation to fire back with a retort equally as curt but she
knew better. Instead she settled for one of her compliant mute
nods, as they simultaneously swept into the intensive card ward
to check on what Sonya was sure would be one of many patients
throughout the evening. Her large fluffy ears twitching almost
instantly as their newly admitted enquiry drifted to her ears
she exchanged a glance with the duck beside her, before
respectfully letting him be the one to answer the patient first.
“Your’re in The Tommy Turtle Memorial
Hospital.” His cornflower blue irises flickering down to
the chart he held in his hands, he regarded the information
chalked up about the wolf from the hospitals database with a
solemn expression. “Quite frankly your’re lucky to
be alive at all Mr … Frost.” The scepticism seeping
into his words about whether or not this was legitimately the
males first name, before he could investigate any further Sonyas
voice far more silky smooth and socially accommodating
interrupted.“What the head doctor means to say is that
because of the severity of your injuries you being conscious so
soon let alone your survival against the odds is
       incredible.”
A warm smile spreading across her muzzle, she ignored the look
of disapproval that Doctor Quack shot her way and continued to
make the introductions, knowing that otherwise he
wouldn’t. “I’m Doctor Heart. This here is
Doctor Quack. Will be the medical assistance on call for you
tonight. While I can happily reassure you your’re out of
the woods, you still have a ways to go until your fully healed.
Whilst you were under we took take of your bandaging for your
broken ankle and arm. And thanks to my healing ability [another
noticeably disapproving look from Doctor Quack.] your ribs are
no longer internally fractured but you will feel extremely sore
for a couple of weeks. The same goes for your fractured tail
it'll just be sore for awhile. I was going to heal your forearm
and ankle with less conventional methods also but…”
Sternly clearing his throat Doctor Quack spoke back up. “I
forbid it. with such raw injuries healing traditionally is what
is best for you. For your spinal cord dislocation that will
still need to be moved properly back into place but will attend
to that at a later date. Fortunately for you your concussion is
mild so that means the side affects you experience will be
minimal but if you experience dizziness, nausea, or difficulty
concentrating you’d be wise to inform us.”

By: Karahl Date: August 11, 2019, 4:52 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
All was still and dark for the feline as she rested, completely
unaware of her surroundings and even all that had transpired
beforehand. It was like she was floating endlessly in a dark
void and Karahl had been robbed of all her senses during that
       time.
       Was she dead?
       Finally, a soft moan rolled out from her lips stated otherwise;
the first sign of consciousness since she had been admitted to
the hospital. Her whole body felt like dead weight, like she was
locked in a paralyzed hold while she was awakening from a deep
slumber. The tigress' eyes slowly peeled open and she blinked
several times as she squinted at the white ceiling with a bleary
gaze. Thought hadn't roused from her mind as of yet as she was
able to take in all the insignificant details of the ceiling and
her body was finally responding to her back and call; fingers
flexing, pointing her feet and a gentle swish of her tail
       beside her.
Next, her hearing improved from non-existant, to muffled and now
clear; which drew her attention to three other Mobians across
the room from her. Two of whom were standing and had their backs
to her and she was just now able to catch some of the words
       being exchanged.
'A hospital...?' came her first thought before her eyes widened,
'Oh no. No. No. No! I can't be in here!'
She was an assassin after all and being so vulnerable in a
hospital she didn't like the odds of being arrested as soon as
she was fit to leave a hospital bed. When she attempted to move
       - well, just about anything - pain shot through her bones and
muscles in insistant protest; provoking a pained gasp which
eventually surrendered to her body's demands as she lay there.
The worst coming from the side of her skull, from underneath the
cast fixed around her cranium. She couldn't remember exactly
what had happened to earn such an egregious injury, but it
       wasn't hard to guess either.
       'This isn't good.'

The sound of the tigresses barely audible moan reaching Sonyas
highly sensitive ears thankfully before anyone elses. She found
herself mouthing to their fully conscious patient a polite
behind her fathers back. “Please excuse me for just a
moment.” Reluctant as she was to leave newly venerable
patients with Doctor Quacks ‘special’ brand of
bedside mannerisms. If that opening sound was who she thought it
was then her night was about to get a lot trickier. Closing the
short distance between the beds in seconds for once Sonya was
glad of her fathers ego. He was so engrossed in lecturing Mr
Frost about the importance of regular paced healing that he
hadn’t noticed she’d left his side.. yet. She
didn’t have a lot of time.Yanking the pair of handily
thick hospital shutters around the bed in one fluent motion her
suspicions about their second patients identity was instantly
confirmed in the moments that followed. Eyes widening, Sonya
felt a cold rush of panic threaten to flood through her. This
       was bad, really really bad.
If Doctor Quack realised who she was there would be no
discussion about it the city guards would be called within less
than five minutes ready and waiting to take the feline into
solitary confinement the moment she was able bodied. Not to
mention that if the grumpy old coot had his way upon this
discovery there would be no doubt that he’d help her. They
were under oath that wasn’t her concern. But he
wouldn’t hesitate to heal her in a way that provided as
much pain and suffering as he was able to give within
justifiable reason. He’d make sure her remaining time
spent within these walls were a misery, and she could understand
the means but that didn’t mean she agreed with the method.
She wasn’t going to let that happen. While it was true
that she didn’t owe the assassin a thing, one good deed on
her end didn’t exactly make them friends. She’d
enjoyed the time they’d spent together.. rallying for such
a genuine goal she wasn’t sure how Karahl felt about what
happened between them but she felt like they bonded then and for
that reason among many she wanted to do her best to help.
Forcing the majority of her panic to the furthest depths of her
mind, the sound of a second pained gasp was what really brought
her back to reality. Hurrying to the females bedside, Sonya
could already tell that she’d come to the same conclusion
that she had about her situation. Purposely poking her blonde
head into her field of vision, Sonya found herself making very
soft almost urgent shushing sounds under her breath. Her words
feather light but firm. "Karahl. Karahl please.. stop trying to
move your'll make your injuries worse." Her sky blue irises
locking firmly onto her own ice blue ones, the fox medic did her
best to convey quiet reassurance that she didn’t need to
panic. Knowing fully well that any attempt to move on her end
right now would increase the risk of dire consequence. She shook
her head, and then carefully adjusted the level of liquid local
anaesthetic that was currently pumping through the cats veins.
She was currently on enough to numb her pain for most part, but
if her bodys reaction moments before was anything to go by the
extra was needed. She didn't know what her plan was going to be
as it stood, but she knew she had to come up with one fast. Her
anaesthetic taken care of Sonya pressed a medium sized ice pack
over the top of the felines head, despite knowing that an ice
pack wasn't going to be much of a solution to her severe
concussion, but at the very least it would provide some mild
temporary relief for her head trauma.

Medical staff approached him introducing themselves, during this
time the muscle-build mobian examine their appearance, behavior
and body language to get an idea of who is taking care of him.
Judging by their dynamic with one another, its painfully clear
one of them is the "friendly" type, the other one not so much,
despite this the "unfriendly"doctor informed him about his
survival rate and where did he ended up, to them he should've
been dead from his injuries but a miracle kept him alive.
He remained quiet listening to Doctor Heart explaining his
broken arm and leg are bandaged and his rib cage is no longer
fractured due to some healing ability, it didn't mean there
isn't any pain all around his abdomen, he is going to be sore
for a couple of weeks. His tail is going to be fine in due time
as well. The duck mobian doctor objects to Sonya wanting to heal
his arm and leg, stating being healed the old fashion way is
best for him, he plans to put his dislocated spine back in place
later, and informing Ty he suffered a mild concussion and he
will experience minimum side effects. The important thing to do
is getting their patient to list anything painful about their
body. "I don't feel nauseated but everything is sore, my tail
and back hurt the most" he replied.
Ty pondered about something else wondering if he can still use
his elemental abilities, only one way to find out. He raised his
good arm to examine it, furrowed his eyes to concentrate then
his arm is slowly being covered in a thick coating of ice.
"Hm..Powers are still functional.." almost forgetting Doctor
Quack existed, the stern wolf made the ice disappeared from his
arm as if nothing happened, good to know he still got it.

It was going to be quite the busy night for the doctors on staff
as Blaze had just arrived at the hospital in a bit of a nerve
racked state. Blaze felt something was off and he didn't know
why he was even at the hospital but something was telling him to
come here and see if his brother was here. Call it like a twin
syndrome when one can feel that the other is in danger. Blaze
walked up to the reception desk and asked if Ty had been checked
in using one of his alternative last name Frost.
Once he was confirmed of it he asked what room and without delay
he made a semi mad dash for the room. It took him a few minutes
but he did eventually find the room. Seeing as the door wasn't
closed, he managed to see Ty in bed all bandaged up. He let out
a sigh of relief before making his way inside with a somewhat
       relaxed expression.
" Geez bro you gave me quite the scare there. You mind telling
me how you ended up beat up like this? the only times i could
recall you being this banged up is when we fight but
this....this is new." he replied to Ty.

Perhaps it took a little while but the anesthesia had finally
kicked in and a majority of Karahl's pain had been nullified.
Her mind was still racing about what she should do next to get
out of here, however when someone had hurried over to her
bedside and draw the curtains, the tiger couldn't help but let
out a sigh of relief up recognizing the Mobian.
"Doctor Heart," she addressed quietly as she relaxed a little
more and complied with not only her own body's demands for rest
but also Sonya's gaze and request. Karahl then assumed, "I dare
say I'm relieved that you're working here."
With that said she watched Sonya to go about how she pleased,
after seeking her assistance in saving her little brother's
life, Karahl had firmly instilled trust in the fennec doctor.
The tiger also heard some other murmur in the room but she
wasn't concerned about who else was here that as of yet.

His expression remaining completely indifferent throughout
‘Mr Frosts’ explanation of the current state of his
pain levels. He almost scoffed at the irony of his situation.
[i]‘He should have been pronounced dead on arrival and
here he is complaining about how much his dislocated spine and
tail hurt I’ll never understand todays youth.’ Not
even bothering to spare the wolf another glance the doctor
concentrated on adjusting the level of liquid local anaesthetic
that was being administered to the bulky framed male through a
drip connected to his inner wrist, and considering his weight
and additional mass it was more than he was use to administering
in one sitting which did wonders for escalating his already
unsavoury mood. The hospital resources were already stretched
thin as it was and yet here he was rolling out palliative fluid
like it was champagne ridiculous. And despite his efforts to be
inconspicuous the older duck caught a glimpse of the ice
crawling up his none injured arm from his peripheral vision and
that brief sighting of abnormal ability was all that was needed
to set him off on one of his tangents. His cool blue gaze
snapping directly to his patient try as he did to keep his voice
controlled he couldn’t stop the sharpness from creeping
into his words. “The use of powers.. is NOT PERMITTED IN
THIS HOSPITAL!!! DO YOU UNDERSTAND BREAD FOR BRAINS?!”
Catching himself before he could get any further the feathered
male closed his eyes, and gently massaged his temples in attempt
to soothe his now not so pent up frustrations.
To make matters worse somehow the volunteer receptionist had
failed to follow procedure and tell any attempted visitors that
visiting hours were long since over. But it was too late now the
crimson and black furred male was already by the bed asking the
question that he was irritated about not getting round to. Which
was why when he addressed the other wolf his tone was noticeably
dry and disarming. "Apparently everyone’s qualified to be
asking the serious questions now. Your’re the brother
I’m assuming?” Though Frosts hospital records had
been pretty scarce that small piece of information about his
sibling was something they were privy to at least. “Like
he said Mr Frost. It’d be great… if you shared how
exactly you came close to being on deaths door? Unfortunately
for me I have all night.”
       ___
Relief coursing through her the minute Karahl recognised,
acknowledged and complied with her demands she reached out
giving the felines hand that wasn’t currently bandaged an
affectionate but incredibly gentle squeeze. “I sure do.
You have no idea how glad I am to see you again!.. but how
terrible that you’ve ended up in here and in a such a
state! do you mind if I ask what on earth happ-“ "The use
of powers.. is NOT PERMITTED IN THIS HOSPITAL!!! DO YOU
UNDERSTAND BREAD FOR BRAINS?!” The sudden sound of her
fathers voice thundering through the IUC causing her to openly
cringe in embarrassment she powered through the feeling, busying
herself further by plumping up the pillows near the felines
head, and behind her back in order to assist her into a more
comfortable sitting position. "Sorry about him.. Doctor Quack is
er.. old fashioned. Anyway as I was saying.. what on earth
       happened?..”

The muscle mobian blinked his eyes watching this doctor raised
his voice upon Ty's power usage, so much to the point of the
frosty mobian wondering who peed in that guys cereal for him to
act like this. Ty could very well protest about it, but he is
too injured and couped up in a hospital bed to even care. His
experience is not all bad however, his brother came to visit him
finding out he was taken in for medical care, naturally he
wanted to know how he got here and so did the grumpy doctor.
"Hey bro," he spoke to him casually, its true the boy used to
train together like this, they've been doing that since they
were children, nowadays they mind their own business doing their
own thing. "Our fights are nothing compared to what I went
through, I ran into a tigress ninja assassin and saw her kill a
woman, I tried to stop her and you can probably guess what
happened" noting his battered body. Technically he didn't see
her drag a woman to her death but she didn't deny his
accusations based on what he saw, it wasn't hard to put two and
       two together.

Blaze crossed his arms as he leaned aganist the wall next to
him. As he listened to his brother's story, all he could do was
nod in thought before finding time to speak. He first addressed
the doctor whose loud yelling brought Blaze here in the first
place. " That's right doc. Names Blaze and this one here is my
bro Ty. " he replied before turning to his brother again. As he
looked over Ty's body, a wave of questions flooded his mind. How
could a ninja do all of this to Ty? Was she superhuman? Nobody
could sneak up on Ty directly so they had to be fighting head
on. Judging by the state of his body Blaze could only assume one
       possible explanation.
He gave a small whistle and shake of his head. " Damn so a girl
did this much damage. Must be one hell of a woman. You'll have
to introduce me to her some time. If it's okay doc i'd like to
stay here with my bro. No offense but i feel whoever did this
may want to finish what she started and as you can see he is in
no shape to fight. Think of me as a bodyguard of sorts. You
won't hear a sound from me. " Blaze stated as a matter of fact
       type of tone.
