Amy's house is in line of sight from a brooding individual,
sharp eyes staring at the architectural exterior, the mind
clouded with conflict and turmoil, today is the day to confront
Amy Rose. Rocket shoes escorted bottom appendages to the front
door of the household. Shadow raised a fist attempting to knock
her door, he prevented himself from doing so, contemplating on
what to say. "Amy I'm sorry for stabbing you, No...that doesn't
sound right.." he practiced, begin to pace on her porch with a
hand on his chin.
"Amy I'm here to apologize for my actions, will you forgive me?
No...it's not that simple.." if he were to say that, Amy
would've yelled at him and would never talk to him again, the
likely hood of her being upset is most likely one hundred
percent in his mind, in fact he would be foolish to think she
ISNT mad at him.
"Amy I just want to say I didnt mean to go to far, No..she
wouldn't buy it" frustrated on how challenging it is to
formulate words.
He spent a lot of time away from her, hoping to have an idea on
how to make amends, there was nothing, but why? Its not as if he
is incapable of apologizing but why is it so hard? Shadow
starred at the door, a sigh released out of lungs, putting on a
brave face he knocked on the door waiting for an answer. Anxiety
and sweat are very hard to conceal in this moment, nor did he
bother to hide it, the stoic "poker face" mask can only do so
much.

Amy woke with a start and sat up on her bed. She wiped her face
from the tears that had been trapped behind her eyelids. She
absentmindedly glanced out her window at the sun setting
prettily in the horizon but she made no mental comment at how
her 30 minute nap turned into 3 hour one. Instead her mind
remained fixated on the cause for her arousal from slumber.
She had been having a weird but somewhat familiar dream. The one
she had in the hospital after Scourge had attacked her, the one
with the red thread of fate that bound her to that hedgehog,
only this time, as she was follows the thread to find him again,
the thread had been severed by a knife lodged into the ground,
she remembered pulling the blade out and gathering the two
pieces of the thread in her hands.
She had actually started crying at seeing this and then woke up.
Amy paused a moment as she wiped her eyes again and then
frowned. 'Someone is here...' And then there was a knock at her
door. 'Who could that...' she knew who it was. Somehow, she just
knew.
It took her a while getting to the front door, mostly because
she was hesitating and didn't really want to face Him. But she
knew she had to do this. She couldn't hide away anymore.
Stealing herself, she unlocked the door and then opened it,
staring up at Shadow with a determined expression.

Shadow stopped knocking to anticipate a response, initially he
believed she isn't home as there is no turning on the knob from
he other side, that mindset changed however when the door
opened, revealing the pink rose herself. Normally the black
hedgehog would find comfort in her company whenever they
interacted, however things are very different this time. Her
expression told him everything, that hatred she bottled up and
lashed out for Scourge is now directed towards him, ironically
for the same reason.
Somehow the look in her eyes possessed the power of paralysis,
he couldn't move his legs nor arms at all, forced to receive her
cold feelings, a fear potent enough to break the mask he held
dear., a hint of paranoia creeped up. she even took his muscles
away for speaking, anything he says could make or break their
friendship, he wasn't created to handle situations like this nor
will he be prepared. How does anyone have the courage to
apologize after nearly killing them?
Cmon Shadow..you can do this, he reminded himself.
"May I come in?, I want to explain everything.." he gathered
the strength to talk, there was no usual coldness in his speech,
its softened with feelings of guilt and regret.

Amy Rose had been almost tempted to shut the door in his face,
but something told her to give Shadow a chance. She didn't know
exactly what he could explain to make her understand why he had
stabbed her despite her pleas to stop their mockery of training.
Amy shook her head for a moment then nodded at him and stepped
to the side. She motioned without a word for him to take a seat
in the den while she shut the door before following him. Sitting
on her armchair, she kept her back rigid and her face hopefully
void of emotion as she waited for him to either sit or stand and
say his explanation.
While she sat there and listened, she just stared at the black
hedgehog, looking deep into his ruby-coloured eyes as she
thought back over their history. Their first meeting on that
island, their moment on the ARK, and through the years of being
his friend, she thought it was mutual. He had supported her
through the heartache and weakness that Sonic and Scourge put
her through, but then... this happened. She didn't hate him for
what he did. She was disappointed, very hurt, and mad, but she
didn't hate him. Was their friendship strong enough to survive
this?

Shadow being allowed to enter her home gave him a very small
dose of relief, he is getting somewhere. He watched Amy choose a
seat, likewise he did the same, selecting a chair to sit away
from the freedom fighter, he knew it is smart to keep distance
between them, her expression told him to stay back. It didn't
prevent his own eyes to match her sight in parallel, too late to
turn back now, he is going to spill the beans and prepare for
the consequences.
"My actions...it was a part of your training, I wanted to play
the role of a serial killer, to get you to disarm a knife. I
assumed you are capable of doing that, your experience in the
field led me to believe you could handle anything, however I
miscalculated your mental state, I thought you had enough time
to recover from your trauma, I was wrong. I shouldn't have
pushed you so hard like that, I should have told you my motives
from the start......I'm sorry" he apologized, eyelids partially
closed in shame.

Amy nodded and remained silent for a moment before speaking.
"I... " she paused and thought about her choice of words then
resumed after a moment. "I see."
She swallowed as she tried to see where he was coming from. It
sort of made sense, but she just supposed that he also didn't
think of another problem with his method. "I... I forgive you.
Shadow. And... I'm sorry for... not properly explaining what I
needed when I asked you to train me. I'm used to fighting
swatbots, badniks, the Dark Legion, giant killer machines, and
Infinate's army. I understand how you would think that I should
have been more capable of handling a super fast hedgehog with a
knife trying to stab me but..." she shook her head. "I've never
had that experience. I don't know how to disarm someone like
that. And Scourge's attack in my own home also didn't help in
making me feel vulnerable." she closed her eyes and pinched the
bridge of her nose as she forced those memories away for now.
"I'll be better. I'll get better. And... I'm glad you came here
to apologize... I'm sorry that I... stabbed you too." she
glanced at his leg to try and find a wound. "And for hitting you
that hard with that gavel." Oh that was a good name. Golden
Gavel... she liked it.

"I... I forgive you. Shadow.
He felt a megaton anvil being lifted from his shoulders, those
words he needed to hear doused away the flames of doubt, she
didn't hate him after all, there is a chance for him to make
things right. The next thing she says turned his relief into
curiosity and gradually into understanding of her position. No
wonder Amy did not do what he hoped for her training, she never
had to fight a gifted speedster using a knife against her, he
made another mistake in assuming her training with Sonic would
improve her reflexes, or did it? Too soon to judge.
Still it was impressive she was able to hold her own in combat,
summoned a hammer of great power to take out the ultimate life
form. "Don't worry about it, That hammer....can you control
it?"he briefly glanced at his now healed up wound, a visible dry
scar in place of where the bandages used to be, more importantly
he wish to learn about the secrets of her weapon.

At the question of if she could control the Golden Gavel, she
shook her head. "No. I'm sorry. It's really hard to summon for
some reason, I haven't been really able to bring it out yet, as
I can't seem to find the trigger." She said, sounding a bit
discouraged. Amy paused a moment then stood. "Would you like
some tea or coffee, or something stronger?" She asked. Now that
they were over their rough patch, she felt that she could be a
gracious host to him once more.

Shadow placed a finger on chin, eyes looked to the side to
ponder about her situation before returning a look back to Amy.
"A weapon activated by a specific trigger, interesting.." his
mind flooded with a hypothesis or at least an idea why its
happening, he saw the golden hammer appear only if Amy is in
grave danger, if only he could- NO! No No No No!
He does NOT want to hurt her again, he doesn't want to be as a
monster anymore, there has to be another way. He pushed those
thoughts in the back of his mind for now being offered a
beverage, naturally he is going to request a bag of coffee
beans, he grows tired of eating the same thing over and over
again, he is going to drink it like everyone else for a change.
"Coffee, in liquid form this time" remaining in the chair a
distance from her.

Amy nodded and slipped away into the kitchen and busied herself
with preparing the preground coffee for her guest and herself,
pausing a moment before going to the pantry and getting out some
cookies she made herself that morning. Half dipped dark
chocolate almond cookies, the recipe called them "Harvest
Moons". She arranged a good portion on a plate and set it on a
serving tray along with the now ready tea and coffee. Once that
was ready, she carried the tray into the den and sat it on the
coffee table in front of Shadow then took a seat beside him and
gave him the mug and saucer filled with the steaming black
liquid and then held out the plate of her cookies for him to eat
one, while she poured herself a cup.
"You're in luck. I just got this coffee today, it's one of my
favourite dark robust roasts," she said, trying perhaps a bit
too hard to keep up the conversation.
