I am the tallest of mountains

It was a long time since he was last here. Last anywhere really.
Overlooking the wounded forest from the war, Infinte stood a top
what was left of a death egg robot. His eye darted about, taking
in the forest and its recovery. How long had he been gone? Where
was the Doctor? And more importantly, where was that Hedgehog?
The one he hated with his entire being, the one he wanted to see
burn. He pushed aside his anger, taking a few steps to the edge
of the robot's remains before hopping down. He'd land with a
graceful, yet powerful thud before standing back up. This forest
was supposed to of been destroyed and used in the war efforts as
a base location for the Eggman Empire. And yet, here it stood,
nature returning back as it always did.
The jackal took several steps forward, a hand moving to his
chest for a moment, the Phantom ruby pulsating and causing
Infinite a moment of pause as he grunted. He shook his head, his
body slowly lifting up into the air as a red glow enveloped his
form. Without much warning, a red beam fired from his hand,
which he quickly racked across the forest, causing several dozen
trees to just fall. The thunderous sound of trees collapsing
combined with the sound of bird crying as they fled the area was
quite loud, easily able to be heard from quite far off.
This was Infinite taking his anger out on the world around him,
just as he had during the war. He'd have his revenge. All in
good time. This? This was a temper tantrum.

Making their way through the forest was an unknown stranger,
standing at 6 feet 6 inches, who had taken notice and heard the
sound of the jackal blasting away at the trees. They stopped for
a brief moment, mumbling quietly to themselves before pressing
on. It was against their better judgement, moving forward
towards whatever it was causing a ruckus... but it was really
the only direction they could go in. They soon made their way
out of the forest and saw the rows of trees that were torn down.
It didn't take long for them to notice the jackal floating about
in the air who was blasting away at the forest out of rage.
Letting out a quiet sigh the stranger made their way over to
them, fixing the ragged shroud their wore to hide their face and
outfit, save for the obvious horns poking out. They only hoped
that it wouldn't be a fiasco interacting with the enraged
jackal. Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Right...?

Infinite continued his rampage, raking another blast through the
treeline. More and more trees fell in the wake of his anger. He
rose his hand to fire another blast, a red glow covered his
hand, only for him to turn his head slightly at the sound of
foot steps. He turned himself to face the figure that
Approached. He lowered himself some, but continued to float a
good ten feet in the air. He stared down at the creature before
him, his hand coming up to adjust his mask.

"Only fools and deadmen approach me."[/glow] He said, his voice
cold, oozing with lethal intent. [glow=red,255,300]"If you take
another step I'll make sure your life becomes a living
nightmare." [/glow]
He turned from the figure, firing another blast into the forest.
He was tensed, ready for some sort of fight. If this creature
was foolish enough to begin a fight with him he'd make sure to
send him crawling away with his tail between his legs. Something
in the back of his mind tugged on him though. Should he really
be revealing himself so soon? He'd only just returned and yet
here he was making a big fuss. No it didn't matter. Unless
this creature knew who he was it wouldn't be a problem. He'd
flatten this forest and use it for his own purposes.

The stranger looked out to the forest for a brief moment before
looking back at the jackal curiously. So far the stranger showed
no form of hostility, making that obvious as they simply
approached and sat down on a nearby rock and looking back at the
jackal. Given how the jackal reacted the stranger didn't want to
start anything with him, simply remained in place. Still it was
a curious sight for them. They had never once seen anything like
Infinite before, save for a few others that they knew a long
time ago. Mustering up a bit of courage they finally spoke up,
talking in a rather feminine tone of voice.
[font=times new roman]"... I'm going to assume that there's a
lot that's recently happened to make you feel uneasy,
yes?"[/font]
They asked, speaking in a gentle tone. It was easy for them to
see that the jackal was expecting some form of hostility from
them. They would at least try some form of pacifist approach
first and see what would happen from there. Of course he didn't
expect any sort of positive response coming from the jackal
whatsoever.

With one final shout Infinite thrust his hands forward, making a
massive blast so suddenly. It ripped through the forest,
leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. He took a few slow
breaths afterwards, his hands falling to his sides. He lowered
slowly, landing gently on the ground, his back to the stranger.
He took a few moments of silence just breathing as they spoke.
When he finished, he turned his head, just enough for the
stranger to see his eye, which stared at their form for a few
moments.
[glow=red,255,300]"I'm not sure when it happened. But it was
recent in my memory..."[/glow] He rose a hand, looking to it
for a moment before closing it. [glow=red,255,300]"I suffered a
defeat so humiliating... I keep reliving it over and over
again."[/glow] His fist clenched as he stared at it, shaking
some as he did so. [glow=red,255,300]"That hedgehog.... Its so
clear in my mind every time I close my eyes...."[/glow] He shook
his head. [glow=red,255,300]"I want to see his world burn and
his life crumble. To bring pain and despair to his life however
I can." [/glow]
He turned fully to the stranger, his eye now focusing on him
entirely from behind the mask. [glow=red,255,300]"And I have the
power to do so. I have the power to do so much, and yet.... Yet
they all look down on me. Call me weak."[/glow] He shook his
head quickly. [glow=red,255,300]"I am not weak... I will show
them my power and they will fear it." [/glow]

The stranger glanced off to the side, hearing what the jackal
said. Whoever this 'hedgehog' was that managed to leave the
jackal in the state he was in currently, they must've done
something outstandingly horrid to enraged him this much.
Normally the stranger would try to avoid any sort of conflict
but they wanted to at least find some method of helping the
jackal keep his mind at ease.
[font=times new roman]"... well I don't see someone who's
weak... only someone who's been through a great mess of
nonsense... and would only want some form of justice for the
humiliation brought onto him."[/font]
The stranger said before getting up and walking over towards
Infinite.
[font=times new roman]"Tell me... what is the name of the one
that committed these crimes toward you?... Who is this hedgehog
that did all of this?"[/font]
They asked, looking down towards the jackal. They figured that
he wouldn't get any sort of peace of mind till this issue was
dealt with and wanted to at least try to help him.

it."[/glow] Said Infinite. He shook his head. As the strange
approached he took a step back, that tense atmosphere from him
returning in force. [glow=red,255,300]"I don't want justice. I
don't give a damn about justice. I want revenge." [/glow]
The Jackal stared at him in silence for several moments as he
spoke. He turned away from him, crossing his arms as he stared
up at the sky. [glow=red,255,300]"His name is Shadow."[/glow] He
turned his head to look at the stranger. [glow=red,255,300]"He
is the reason for my pain. My endless anger. My
suffering."[/glow] He turned fully, that red glow returning as
his anger began to build. [glow=red,255,300]"He is the reason I
am who I am!"[/glow] With another quick move of his hand, he
fired another blast of red into the forest, causing several
dozen trees to fall over once again.
[glow=red,255,300]
"He must know pain. True pain. Unlike anything he'd ever
experienced before."[/glow] He said. [glow=red,255,300]"Pain I
can give him. Pain I understand." [/glow] He put a hand to his
chest, running his thumb over the phantom ruby.
[glow=red,255,300]"Pain I can create..."[/glow]

The stranger let out a quiet sigh, hearing the jackal speak.
Whoever this Shadow is/was they obviously did a great deal to
enrage Infinite and cause him nothing but trouble. Knowing that
the jackal wouldn't find any sort of peace unless this hedgehog
was dealt with they decided to do something that went against
the pacifism they would normally stand by.
[font=times new roman]"... I know nothing of who this
[color=red]Shadow person is... I honestly know little to nothing
about this place since I traveled far from home... but I do know
that you will do anything to seek retribution on the one that
wronged you... tell me... where can we find this Shadow?... and
feel free to simply ignore this next question... but might I ask
your name?"[/color][/font]
They asked, wanting to assist the jackal and help him deal with
the hedgehog who caused him nothing but pain.

Infinite stood silent as the stranger spoke. He thumbed over the
phantom ruby once more. Hundreds of thoughts shot through his
mind before a chuckle escaped him. He brought a hand up to his
mask, adjusting it some. He turned toward completely to the
strange.
[glow=red,255,300]"You want to help me get my revenge?"[/glow]
He asked. [glow=red,255,300]"How unexpected..."[/glow] He moved
a hand. The Phantom ruby glew a bit brighter as a fake shadow
faded into existence besides him. [glow=red,255,300]"This is
Shadow. The hedgehog who humiliated me so hard. If memory serves
finding him will be easy enough. However, getting into his head
will be much harder." [/glow] He clenched his fist, the fake
shadow vanishing.
[glow=red,255,300]"He'll be somewhere near Mobotropolis, no
doubt."[/glow] He said. [glow=red,255,300]"But I'm not heading
there first. You've just given me an idea." [/glow] He floated
up into the air, that red aura engulfing him once again.
[glow=red,255,300]"I'm going to seek out more allies. Those who
have been wronged by the Hedgehog..." [/glow]
[glow=red,255,300]"As for my name. You may call me Infinite."
[/glow]

I suppose it's only fair that I give my name as
well."[/color][/font]
They said before taking the hood of their cloak off, showing the
face of a male gopher with 2 large horns on his head.
[font=times new roman]"... My name is [color=yellow]Levias
Armoros... and I can imagine that we will be meeting each other
again soon."[/color][/font]
He said, looking up at the jackal. The gopher could already tell
that this would be something both asinine and lethal, but either
way he was willing to assist the jackal with his plans for the
time being.
