A visit to Mobotropolis (Open to all)

In the Outskirts of the city of Mobotropolis, a large unmarked
Semi Truck drives through the road leading to the large city
that is still trying to rebuild after a costly war against the
Eggman Empire. The driver inside is a weary bat. A veteran of
two wars and now living day to day taking contracts for G.U.N.
feeling that the Kingdom was completely destroyed along with the
city, but he would find out from a previous assignment that the
city still Stands, although he wonders if the Royal Family or
even his old comrades are still alive. In a desperate need for
answers to his questions, the bat drives onward to search for
the truth.
For now, the weary warrior was in need of food to satisfy
himself before he moves further into the city and with that he
stops at a local Diner for regular patrons and truck drivers.
After parking his vehicle and locking it he will walk inside to
see what is on the menu for today.

She felt out of place here, a city, the only city she had read
about, Mobotropolis. Before the war it was a symbol of hope and
prosperity for all Mobians, then Eggman had his way and it was
ruined, turned into a mechanization of forbidden technology and
crude, harmful machines that pained the earth below them. Many
stories of the city then and now had passed by Natalia's ears as
she looked towards the city, still some distance away but the
only mass of civilization still standing from the end of the
war.
Natalia wasn't sure how'd she fit in as she walked towards the
city along the road, unsure of what to do, where would she go,
who would she meet? She had these questions fluttering around
her mind as she walked.

As the Bat walks into the diner he will see a bustling crowd of
customers in the booths and on the stools. For a time they would
be trying to survive the horrors of the war with the Empire, but
now they enjoy a time of peace only caring about what is
happening in their day to day lives instead of surviving a war
zone. When he sees this display Mike would remember the days
before both the Great War and the Eggman Empire war. He would
open his wallet and check his current funds before taking a seat
at the stool.
Right when the bat takes a seat a Dolphin would walk towards him
on the other side of the bar wearing a shirt with the diner's
logo and a skirt giving Mike a menu.
" What beverage you would like Su'gah?"
Mike would quickly skim through the menu not seeing much except
something he remembers drinking in the western front went there
was a beer shortage in the war.
"May I have a Sarsaparilla please ma'am?"
The Dolphin would smirk a bit "Okay su'gah. I'll get you that
right away."
As the dolphin leaves Mike will continue looking at the menu
pondering at a choice to make. All the options look delicious,
but he also needs to balance his spending habits for now.
Especially with the cargo, he is carrying inside his truck.

Natalia stepped inside the diner soon after Mike had, the feline
had been walking for some time and she was indeed a little
hungry. FInding this little joint was a welcoming site and one
that she had been familiar with on her own travels. She never
actually entered one of these "truck stops" as they were called,
but she had heard interesting things about them. A mixture of a
diner and a shop, the place sold a few essential items along
with odds and ends, while the attached diner served all kinds of
food as the female looked at the menu. Much of what was there
she didn't really know what was, but she was curious to try
something as she sat at the bar near the bat. She kept her arms
hidden in the jacket, unsure how others would feel about the
cyborg of a woman among them.
"Welcome to Speedy-Easy, what can I getcha?" A waitstaff, a
canine, asked as he approached. Natalia looked at the menu
listed above the bar and read a few things here and there; they
had quite a selection to choose from.
"What's good?" She asked as the canine tapped his chin
"Quite a lot, we have all-day breakfast, our lunch menu is also
open if you want any assortment of sandwiches and such, we also
have burgers and french fries for the simple types."
"Huh...any rice meals?"
"Rice? Don't get much rice here Missy, sorry."
"Oh....uh well....I'll try something from the breakfast
menu...what is this..."Sunny side up" egg? It looks yummy."
The canine chuckled "It's an egg broken over a pan and cooked,
flipped and cooked a little more before served on toast, the egg
isn't completely cooked so when you break the yoke it runs all
over the place. It's a common favorite but a little messy."
"Huh...I see..." Natalia pondered as she studied the menu, she
wasn't sure what to even get, such food types were so foreign to
her as she looked at the menu confused.
"May i suggest a good old fashion tuna melt?" The canine asked
"Not...to be stereotypical, but usually our feline customers
love the tuna melt here and most of our fish dishes, perhaps
that would be to your liking?"
Natalia blinked and looked at the canine, nodding slowly.
"Uh...sure! Yeah!" she said with excitement "lets try that!"
The canine chuckled, writing down her order.
"Drink?"
"Uhhh...whats that "apple juice"?
"It's juice from apples." The canine chuckled again "I take it
you're not from around here."
"N-not really...this is all new and I'm sort of on my own now,
sorry if it's a bother."
"Not at all, we get quite a few Mobians coming and going, the
war displaced a lot of family and friends."
"Displaced....yeah."
The canine noticed Natalia's tone dropping a bit, coughing, he
wrote down apple juice "Right, let's get your order ready." he'd
yell back to the kitchen before Natalia sighed, thinking about
things up until now; it was fairly depressing.

The bat would turn to look to the new arrival. A tiger that was
wearing a jacket that felt it was larger than her size to the
point her features was hidden. He wonders why would someone wear
a jacket that was bigger than her body. He would hear her
talking about her being 'displaced' which makes him feel like
he's not the only one out here that felt alone in this city.
Taking a deep breath he would look to the tiger.
"You are not the only one. I was from this place and for a long
time I thought this city was wiped off the surface, but here it
is now being rebuilt. Just healing from the wounds of the war. "
He would pause for a bit wondering if she even would want to
speak to an old soldier like himself " Although if you do not
want to be bothered I can understand."
The dolphin would return bringing his drink and before she can
ask what he would like she will return seeing that Mike was
trying to talk to the tiger.

Natalia returned to the present as the thought bubble burst,
Silver...she had seen him, turned into the monster he was and
destroyed everything she loved...looking at Mike for a moment
she saw this Bat talking to her, she hadn't seen any bats
before, most of the Mobians she met were dogs, cats, and other
woodland creatures, but a bat was...new. She was indeed curious,
his ears were long and his nose short, certainly he was quite a
handsome one too, and definitely adorable with that button nose.
Smiling a little, she nodded.
"Yeah...I have met many who were displaced from all over, but I
only heard rumors of Mobotropolis, it was the fable city where
the Mobian people once stood proud before Robotnik or Eggman or
whatever name he goes by had waged his war against it. Now it
seems to be picking the pieces back up and becoming a whole
place once more. I thought...." She sighed "I thought I could
find some help there....you're going there too aren't
you...maybe you can help me? I...." she looked down "Don't
really know where it is." She wiggled in her seat, her metal
tail keeping tied against her waist as she huffed, looking at
the waitstaff bringing the Bats food and then another in turn
with her own as the canine smiled and put her cutlery and the
drink beside her plate of a tuna melt.
"Enjoy darling, take your time with it." he added before walking
off to help another customer. Natalia looked at the new
foodstuff before her with awe, it looked so amazing! It was two
pieces of bread grilled to a golden brown with darker stripes
along it's surface (no doubt grilled, THAT she was familiar
with) filled with tuna and cheese. Orange cheddar oozed out the
front face as she slowly picked up one half and bit into it.
Her ears perked and her body jolted, it was FANTASTIC! She'd
devour the first half pretty quickly and then the second before
looking to the staff "Omn nom~! This is amazing, compliments to
the chef!" She called as she waved a bitten second half in the
air "I would like to learn to make this!"
The canine returned and laughed "Hahah, good eh? Well, maybe if
the chef is kind enough, they'd be willing to teach yah."
"Really? I'd love that! I used to cook so much when I worked
with the caravan..." she paused and sat back down "That
is...before Eggman's pawn destroyed it."
The air seemed to go still for a moment as the canine looked to
Natalia and coughed "Sorry to hear that darling." He said,
looking to the bat "A friend of yours?" He asked Mike "I'd be
happy to show her if you got a moment."

Mike would just order a BLT in a wrap. It's not as heavy of a
meal like a tuna melt, but it serves a purpose. " Well, the
first thing I was trying to find if anyone I knew is still
alive. Maybe even try to get info if the Royal Family lives."
When the bat turns his attention to the tiger if she notices he
was wearing an Acorn Kingdom regular army uniform, but from the
look of it has seen better days. " I will gladly help to find
what you are looking for along the way through. I have nothing
else to do anyway."
When the tiger quickly finished her meal he would not bother her
and would let her finish her meal and talk to the staff for a
bit about learning to make the melt.when the staff member turns
to ask him about Natalia wanting to learn to make the meal "
Well be my guest. I still need to eat my meal anyway plus I'm
not in a rush today."
As he eats the BLT he would wonder about the lady. She was very
polite, but yet has a mystery about her. Why she is here in this
city besides finding out how it survived. Maybe he might know if
she opens up to him if she joins him, If not well at least he
can continue his original path.

Natalia was quite eager to learn about these new food types. The
chef was rather surprised how capable she actually was in the
kitchen. She had a finesse about her with cooking as the chef
watched her practice a simple tuna melt, her hands being
diligent and quick with her motions as if they had a mind of
their own. A flash of metal would catch his eye as he noticed
them to both be robotic, but said nothing; he wasn't unfamiliar
with the horrors of many Mobians to Eggman's experiments. When
Natalia finished a serving of Tuna melt, she'd slip back and
give it to the Bat who spoke to her.
"Go on, try it!" she said with a smile "Since you were kind
enough to say hello, I thought I'd open relations with a meal to
you. Least that's what I was told, 'a man's heart is through his
stomach!' she said proudly as she looked quite happy with
herself. "Once done, let's make our way to Mobotropolis, times a
wasting!" She seemed to have a renewed sense of self as Natalia
smiled, cooking would always be a relaxing and enjoyable trade
she partook at any chance, and getting a shot at something new
to experiment with was an equally wonderful treat.
"For a Royal soldier and for someone so capable in the kitchen,
consider the meals on the house, I hope you two can make it to
Motoropolis in one piece, still hear there are pockets of Eggman
pawns milling about, be careful out there."

Mike would gladly eat the melt. Another good meal even though he
did want to eat light, although he wouldn't complain due to he
was living off a few days on Meal Bars which though it was
sufficient was not as good as the meals provided by the tiger
which he enjoyed very much and was surprised she had this
talent.
With hearing that the meal was free was also a good sign. It
will help him save some money. Even though he was wearing this
uniform since he didn't have many civilian clothes on him due to
of the war against the empire, but still he would take it, but
would leave a tip anyway for the staff. Once he gets up he will
head to his truck to wait for the tiger to leave the diner as he
would quickly try to clean up the passenger side so the tiger
would have somewhere to sit at.

Natalia followed, she was glad she ran into the Bat, in fact,
she hadn't gotten his name yet as she walked up beside him.
"So...whats your name? I'm Natalia Kithsune, pleasure to meet
you! I'd shake but I'm carrying the food for us later." She
asked with a smile, holding a care-package she got from the
staff as she looked at him, she had never seen a Acorn Royal
Militia uniform before, but heard stories of their bravery
during the war and how they were the front line. Only tales of
heroism followed them when they fought, yet it was they who took
the most of the causalities in the opening days, at least from
what she remembered.
"I'm glad to have run into you, certainly helped me on my
travels, I was starting to get tired with all the walking."
