Tails wrist mounted communicator would begin to ring playing
Sonic's custom ringtone along with displaying a picture of the
handsome hedgehog. Whatever it was it must have been urgent as
Sonic normally just ran to talk in person when he wanted to tell
somebody something due to the fact it saved him money on his
phone bill and he enjoyed the personal touch of a face to face
conversation way more. Ring's custom tone started to play even
louder on the second ring with the vocals booming out of the
speaker.
" Oh yeah, yeah!
Gotta rocket, gotta juice it,
I'm hypersonic ultra cool
Gotta blast off, gotta move it,
I'm burning way past cool!"

Payback honestly figured their instincts were pretty much on
point. That being said, this porcupine mage fellow was rather
intriguing— they could respect the stern and direct approach he
had, given they acted much the same but this was a situation
where trust could not be given so easily. The badge that was
given did add a level of interest and intrigue. Payback didn’t
speak up on it however— perhaps this could be looked into later.
They could’ve given Reck some more attention but there were
others that needed to be monitored.
In hindsight, Payback seriously wished it wasn’t the case. Sure,
they were a pretty cold and aggressive person especially as part
of this persona, but Sonya’s judgement of Viola was really
something. Did Sonya go too far? Not necessarily, it looked like
she said what she said for Viola’s benefit too. It was almost
painful for Payback to watch Viola flounder helplessly over it.
”... Yikes.”
Tails made a good point, he trusted Knuckles more than Payback
at the moment— and they couldn’t blame him one bit in all
honesty. As such, to show respect to both Knuckles and Tails,
Payback would do their best to let Tails know his trust was well
placed. ”I understand.” Payback decided to go with Tails and
Sonya via the Tornado as the others made their moves. When Viola
started yelling, Payback was tempted to shoot her with a stun
shot in the back but Reck had it handled, along with Tentei.
When Reck tossed the book over, Payback looked between the book
and Reck, to Tails then back to Reck, giving the porcupine a
confused arm motion. Was he sure about that? This would be
dangerous for the book wouldn't it? ”Anyone harms that book,
well…. You know I’ve got a good aim. You’re an interesting one,
magicman.”
Now most of Payback’s focus was on the group on the Tornado.
They were already picking up some unknown signatures? Greeeaat.
”Are you able to identify anything yet, Tails? It would make my
job a little easier back here.” To make matters even more
awkward, Tails’ communicator started to go off. ”Oh for fu—
seriously!?”

Tails nodded to Viola, "It helps, and I agree, that's probably
exactly what she's aiming for, but we won't let that happen" He
gave a reassuring smile, he'd helped Sonic save the planet how
many times now, today wasn't any different. When she smiled and
spoke again, he held up a hand, "I didn't assume you were
alright because you were with Sonya, I actually got to speak
with you before she came over, you were polite and kind to me,
so of course I thought you were alright" He didn't need someone
else to try and decide for him how he felt about someone, his
friend just helped add to it, how he felt towards anyone and
everyone were his own feelings.
When the girls gave off icy glares and cold comments the fox
would sigh lightly, "If I could butt in here for a moment, if
that's alright?" He held up both hands before continuing, "First
off, Viola, Sonya gave the okay to shoot again because she knows
Payback's weapon is a stun gun and nothing lethal, had it of
been a lethal weapon, I doubt she would've said the same thing"
He raised an eyebrow, not seeing the need for the 'swiss cheese'
comment. "Secondly, Sonya is just trying to take logical
caution, I understand it's frustrating to not be trusted but to
get this offended at a friend of yours protecting another friend
when his life is on the line, to try and guilt trip her with
your words like that? That's not okay, she never said for you to
be harmed, she's trying to make the best out of a bad situation,
you as her supposed friend, can respect that, right? So let's
cut the guilt tripping cr[b]ap, thanks[/b]" He honestly didn't
appreciate all of this being flung at his friend simply because
she wanted to ensure his safety. "I want to believe in you but
honestly if you're going to take all of this so personally
during such a serious time, I can see why Sonya said what she
did." He gave a disappointed sort of sigh, there were more
important things to do right now, if they wanted to no longer be
friends because of a logical caution, then that was on them.
When Tentei asked if it was alright to stick with his car, Tails
gave him a thumbs up, "Of course, stay safe alright?" He took
into account the fact that the detective said that the things on
his scanner couldn't possibly be police helicopters, so that
ruled one thing off his list, even though the copters would've
been more welcoming as they're bigger and easier to spot coming.
Before taking off he got an idea and quickly rummaged through
the 'glove box' of his plane, scooping something out before
tossing it to the detective, it was similar to his wrist
communicator, "You can contact me with this if you guys need it,
don't let others get a hold of it, I don't want my inbox being
filled by randoms, heheh" He laughed lightly, showing off his
young side again, "You can send me the directions to the place
you had in mind through there as well or let me know if you end
up going to the news station instead" He paused for a moment
before adding, "Thank you for coming for me guys, all of you,
stay safe. Don't go back inside the workshop also, I set off the
security system for until I get back" He winked before then
catching Reck's book, he seemed surprised but pleasantly. He'd
give the porcupine a nod, gently placing the book in his lap and
under his waist belt so it sat securely in the plane with them
"You can count on me!"
As he took off, he'd glance back, grateful again for the help
although less yelling would've been appreciated, he'd nod to let
them know he heard but wasn't sure if they'd be able to see it.
When Payback asked about being able to identify anything yet,
the fox took a quint at his monitor but shook his head shortly
after, "No sorry, I can tell that there's 4 things in the air
and they're not really all that big, so they might not be
dangerous, but keep an eye out anyway" He'd shuffle anxiously in
his seat for a moment before then adding, "Sonya, if you check
under your seat, there should be another pair of goggles for
Payback, there might also be some muffs to help your ears, I
know you don't like a lot of noise, sorry about the plane-"
That's when his wrist communicator started to go off, playing
the theme that he remembered Sonic himself had put in, without
hesitation Tails answered the call.
"Sonic!? Where are you? Are you safe?" Tails blurted out,
looking between where he was flying, and to the wrist
communicator in-case the hedgehog had video on. "I'm in the
Tornado with Sonya and a friend, are you somewhere safe?" He'd
ask, if Sonic was safe, the best course of action could be to
re-meet up with him. Or maybe not considering those unknown
objects were still on his radar...

When Tails communicator started to go off the familiar ringtone
made her cringe. If her memory served her right Sonic had tried
to put in something similar for himself in her wrist
communicator theme wise but she’d playfully objected against it.
Goodness knows that hedgehog didn’t need more reasons to add to
his already over inflated ego. Her muzzle flushing rose pink
with second hand embarrassment when she caught the beginning of
Paybacks opening sentence. If not for Tails interrupting to give
her instructions about where to find the spare plane gear and to
her surprise possibly some handy noise cancelling ear muffs she
probably would have started apologising on Sonics behalf out of
polite habit. Giving a small nod of her head the fennec began to
rummage under her seat for a feel moments before she produced
both the spare pair of googles for the armoured fox and the ear
muffs for herself.
An almost shy smile tugging at the edges of her lips the fox
girl offered the spare googles out towards Payback while she
used her free hand to gratefully inch the earmuffs over each
side of her large sensitive fluffy ears. From the moment they
were on she found herself feeling a lot better pretty much
instantly though she knew she was probably going to end up
speaking much louder than her usual. She wanted to thank Tails
for what he’d said on her behalf back at the workshop in regards
to her situation with Viola. Everything he’d said had been
rightfully justifiable on her behalf. She would have never let
Payback cause Viola any long term harm and if she couldn’t see
that then what did that say about their friendship? The thought
that things might not work out in that regard saddened Sonya
Heart.
But right now they had way more serious problems to deal with.
Her friendship dramas in everyday life were going to have to
take a back seat. Dragging her mind away from her thoughts which
were now beginning to way even more heavily on her mind. Before
they took off the fennec quietly watched the others converse her
expression soon quizzical seeing the exchange that Reck and
Tails made with his magical item. For someone so protective of
their property she wondered why he would be so quick to pass
into other hands. She wasn’t surprised though if anyone could be
relied on to keep hold of something precious for safe keeping it
was the golden furred pilot in front of her. Also taking into
account that the four orbs that were closing on them weren’t
going to be police helicopters that caused her both worry and
relief. At least if they were being tailed both police
helicopters they would know what they were dealing with, as far
as whatever was tracking them currently they were all still
troublesomely in the dark.
Fidgeting in her seat the fennec tried her best to keep her
rising panic concealed. Reaching forward she gave Tails shoulder
a supportive squeeze in response to his thanks he gave that was
intended for the group. “Don’t worry about me Tails. Thank you
for the ear muffs they’re real life savers. And you don’t need
to thank us for coming to get you silly. We’re the Freedom
Fighters we don’t abandon one of our own and that stands for
both you and Sonic.”

One of the pods would take a hit from the magnet which lands
right on the mono-eye camera. Inya would notice it going blind
and severs the connection completely as the drone will now go
autonomous and stops moving.
"Lost one of the stealth orbs. I will continue following with
the other three. Plus the fox has friends on the plane." The
robian spider would comment to the crew as she observes the
video feed from the three surviving drones.
"If we engage them they will not allow the fox to go quietly"
"I shall arm the laser Gatling as soon as Tails prepares to land
the bi pla-" Before the co-pilot can finish with his sentence
the Spider will grab him by the collar.
"And risk killing the fox? If you use the laser you are to aim
for the wing, Once Tails is separated from the lot you can do
what you wish."
"Why you're obsessed with wanting him alive anyway. The doctor
woul-"
Inya would slap the co-pilot as the main pilot will continue his
course to stay within the radar range of the bi-plane.
"Then that witch will destroy the continent. Resources for
decades lost in history along with a 'workforce' Sure I would
kill that brat without any hesitation, but I am thinking of the
bigger picture so Unless you want to be thrown out of this craft
you will follow my orders. I hope this will be your last time of
disobedience."
Inya would let go of the pilot as she returns to her seat her
attention would turn back to the direct control of the stealth
orbs. She wants to know where Tails and his friends are going.

Hearing Tails voice set Sonic at ease as he breathed a sigh of
relief. "Tails!? am I glad to hear you. Safe isn't the word I
would use....Shadow tried blowing my head off with a high
powered rifle, my new friend just tried to turn me in and a
crazy flaming cat just set an apartment complex on Fire......."
Sonic paused looking at the raging flames growing before getting
back to Tails. "You've got Sonya and the Tornado? It'll be good
to have both looks like we're outmatched bro and I have no idea
why the city has suddenly turned on me. Look I've got somethings
to take care of but I'll meet you at Castle Acorn when I'm
done." With a click Sonic hung up before returning his attention
to the burning building.

The book shook and rumbled on the plane. It didn't know what an
airplane was. Reck always traveled by short range teleportation
or portals to cover long distance. The book trusted Reck's
judgement. He wouldn't let her fall into the wrong hands. The
book occasionally let out a nervous hum.
The porcupine climbed in the passenger seat of the detectives
car. As the car starts to move Reck opens a hole in the wall
just big enough for the car to get out. He knew he was using a
lot of mana. He would have to conserve spells. Until he
reconnected with his book. "Well, Detective, I hope this car is
fast enough to keep up with the Tornado. My book is on that
plane, and it looks like those things are following them." The
car was uncomfortable for Reck. He figured the detective was
ready to lock him up. Going after Tails now seemed like a bad
plan. It was hasty and impulsive. So the porcupine just decided
to help. He needed to help stop this Lunette character. Reck's
job weighed heavy on him. This time he atleast had a group to
fight along side.
