[Event] The Boy Genius

This evening was spent much like most other evenings for the
twin tailed fox, in his workshop building, fixing and inventing.
Tonight he chose to do some patch ups on his plane while
overlooking some blueprints he had laid out on his workbench
that weren't quite finished and in need of some attention. Like
usual though, his beloved plane came first.
Flicking down his metal face plate and slipping on some ear
muffs, the fox steadily got to work on melding some metal parts
together to go on his plane, and due to his focus on his work
and all the noise it made, he would miss a rather important
announcement as it came onto the news on TV..
For now, Tails was relaxed and enjoying his moment of peace and
quiet, spending time with friends was always great but he also
liked to kick back and have some time to himself and his
inventions. Today was that time for him now.

Almost skidding into the twin tails work space at an
astonishingly impressive speed for average. Sonyas internal
concern for the boys welfare had overwhelmed her so much during
the sprint over that once she’d arrived she’d barely rapped her
knuckles against the door before she’d let herself in. Her sky
blue hues darting frantically around his workshop for a few
moments she couldn’t think straight. Her mind having been
instantly lured to the worst case scenarios it took the usually
sharp sensed fennec a few minutes to notice that Tails was
obstructed from view because he was under his prized possession
rather than shoved in a sack somewhere. “TAILS!- T-TAILS!” The
raw panic evident in her tone, only when she caught a glimpse of
the tip of one of the kits Tails swishing restfully from under
the plane did her heart rate slow even if only a little.
Not wanting to startle him despite her alarm she pulled part of
his earmuff sideways, making sure he could hear her. "Tails! oh
thank goodness your’re okay. Listen I don’t have a lot of time
to explain but we have a problem a really big problem. In short
as of now because of a new self-proclaimed villain who’s
threatening to destroy the continent with a blast from the moon
unless she has you and Sonic captured and brought to her alive
you both now have a huge bounty amounts of your heads and I’m
pretty sure far less welcoming company on the way! we have to
go!” Her words coming out in a frantic splutter Sonya was
faintly aware that she was probably sounding crazy but that's
exactly what the entire demand was!

While running far behind Sonya after the announcement and seeing
the fennec in the distance, Viola soon found out that the girl
could definitely run when it was really time to. If it wasn't
for Vi's stamina and endurance, she would have lost the girl.
Coming up to a place unfamiliar to her, Vi didn't hesitate to
completely follow the friend she had made, unaware that this was
someone's personal property she was intruding in. Good
intentions can lead to bad decisions but she didn't want the
first friend she made here running into danger alone and no one
to help in case it was needed. She ran into the workshop with a
pant and followed where Sonya's worried feelings were most
potent, until she found the fennec and...Tails? "Phew, luckily
break to follow Sonya to one of the ones who is a target." The
the rest of her breath caught up, she spoke up in a stronger
tone than when Tails and her first met and one Sonya heard when
confronting Sabine. "Sorry to barge into your place, I heard the
news and say Sonya running. After what I just saw, I couldn't
let her go alone. I had good intentions and I apologize for
coming in uninvited, I didn't know this place was personally
owned. But she's right, someone just put a huge price on your's
and Sonic's head, this was a planet-wide broadcast. The woman
gave the planet three days, bribed with money and threatened
people's family. Good natured people may be swayed to do what
she wants in order to protect what they love. This is going to
be bad." Vi placed a calming hand on Sonya's shoulder because
she could feel the rush of worry and frantic emotions. Something
her father always told her, "If you freak out, you're useless.".
She would going to do her best to help the fennec regain some
calm.

Arriving a good ten minutes after the girls. He had lost sight
of them and got a little lost. Reck feared that Tails would have
already been warned. The porcupine knew both the girls. Maybe he
could convince them that he was on there side. Maybe he
couldn't. Reck gripped his spell book close as he walked through
the door. "Hello, there. My name is Reck." He introduced
himself. He wasn't sure how to approach so he stayed close to
the door. Though he closed it behind him. The porcupine was
nervous. He hadn't done this kind of thing before. He had hurt
people, but never on purpose, and he had never kidnapped or
abducted anyone. Frost formed at the tips of Reck's fingers. His
magic flowing with his emotions. His head wasn't held quite the
highest either. "I saw Sonya and Viola while out walking. They
looked quite panicked so I decided to follow them." The
porcupine forced his voice not to shake as he spoke. "I saw the
news cast. I figured they might be coming to tell one of you.
You might need some help, if push comes to shove." The porcupine
squeezed the book tight. He needed to calm down. The porcupine
had heard Tails was an inventor. He hadn't quite taken in the
scenery until after his introduction. The workshop was
magnificent, it made his garage look like a toy bin. Reck was
awe struck and walked around the workshop. Careful not to touch
a thing. Reck didn't like his things being touched. "Wow Tails.
I am impressed. I thought I could build a better machine than
you. With your tools and all this. There is no way."

The detective made a sudden brake when he arrived at tails’s
workshop. He left his car and went to the door of tails’s
workshop knocking on the door shouting. “Tails we need to talk
and we don’t have much time before the rest of the police force
will arrive. When i heard the chief give the order to arrest you
and Sonic i gave them a flat tire on all the other car’s to
delay them but i don’t know how long that will delay them. I
have a plan that might work.”
He then entered after taking off his taser gloves and and
putting them with his gun on a table and walking away from them
noticing Sonya, Viola and Reck. He decided to greet them by
saying politely. “Hello there Miss Heart, Miss purple hedgehog,
Mister porcupine.” He pulled out two handcuffs out of his back
pocket saying a bit nervously “I need you to make sure these
can’t lock that way we might be able to trick her into letting
us through the portal and get close to her. I also need someone
to call Sonic because the plan will only work when we have both
of you.”

This was sufficiently awkward. Of all things, some stuck up
bitch up and decided to take the world hostage. Did people never
learn? Some uptight loser wanted to take Sonic and Tails to no
doubt get them out of the equation or destroy them; must be a
day that ended with Y.
That being said, the heroes of this world were many things to
Fiona. At first disappointing, annoying punks that betrayed her,
but now… No, now they were friends, weirdly enough after
everything that happened between them. Fiona Fox— known in the
Resistance ranks as ‘Payback’, and thereafter a vigilante
operating within Mobotropolis and surrounding areas— had to act
quickly before anything unfavorable happened.
Fully armored and geared up as Payback, ‘he’ took to the
streets, making the quickest most silent and unnoticed path,
making sure nobody could easily see where they were going.
Payback noted Sonya in a rush, followed by some unknown. Payback
didn’t care to analyze and assumed Sonya was in fact being
chased rather than followed by an ally. Silently climbing up
onto a nearby rooftop, Payback watched the scene unfold before
them. It didn’t look too good but at least the police weren’t
here yet, oddly enough.
Making an expert stealth maneuver, Payback slowly and silently
made their way around to a different side of Tails’ workshop; on
the hangar side. Sonya explaining herself would have to work as
a distraction. If Tails was going to leg it from here he’d
likely choose one of his flying vehicles… So, Payback decided to
plant some discreet trackers on Tails’ favored machine; the
Torando. If Tails did run off in this way, at least Payback
could keep a tab on him.
Sneaking along, Payback saw two unknowns; a purple hedgehog and
orange porcupine, just after they finished talking. Detective
Tentei showed up too— and apparently he messed with the other
cop’s tires. This loose cannon cop really was practically the
most trustworthy and just cop out there even if he was a bit
goofy and ambitious with his actions.
So, Sonya and Tentei were people Payback could put trust in all
things considered. The other two? Not at all. Silently drawing a
suppressed laserbolt pistol, Payback combat rolled from around
the corner and without warning shot twice towards the purple
hedgehog’s legs attempting to disable her movment— and another
single shot at the porcupine’s suspicious looking book. ”Back
off. Or else next time I’ll aim higher.” Payback growled; their
voice masculine, and the threatening tone in no way empty.
Yikes.

Tails lightly hummed to himself as he worked, moving his work to
underneath the plane, resting his back on a roller board before
doing so and then beginning to weld the metal to the bottom of
the plane. He did this for a few moments before frowning lightly
and then realizing someone had just removed part of his ear
muffs, rolling himself a bit out from under the plane, he
flipped up his metal face mask to see that it was Sonya, and on
instinct, a smile came to his face. Before he could say anything
in greeting though she, in a panic, began to explain quite the
complex situation. The fox steadily brought himself up into a
standing position, waving his hands for a moment before placing
them on Sonya's shoulders, "Woah woah woah, slow down, breathe"
He'd give her a reassuring smile, "I'm right here, I'm okay,
it's okay, take a breather, we'll sort this out okay?"
Truthfully he was a bit confused by what she said. Someone was
threatening to destroy the continent unless he and Sonic were
captured? That was big talk for some faceless villain who just
rocked up out of the blue.
Just as Sonya said they needed to go though, someone else came
bursting in too, it was the purple hedgehog who he'd met once
with Sonya at the ice rink, she was friendly enough, but how
friendly she could be when he had a target on his back was
something Tails just did not know yet. He'd stand in front of
Sonya protectively, backing up a bit towards the front of his
plane, trying to make sure anyone he didn't downright trust
didn't get close enough to touch. "Hey uh, it was Viola right?"
He'd raise a hand a little cautiously, his welding tool still in
his other hand. "Sonya just explained that yeah.. I don't doubt
that you may have been followed here as well, hmm.. Look I-" He
was cut off as another entered the workshop, they indeed were
followed. He frowned lightly. Warnings were appreciated but
multiple people coming to his workshop was suspicious on its
own, more so during this time when he had JUST had a price put
on his head, did he trust everyone turning up here was genuine
with their warnings and not just trying to earn his trust? Hell
no.
Next to come in was Reck, a porcupine he had never seen before,
or at least couldn't recall right now. Thankfully, he stayed by
the door or at least started off that way, which made the fox
loosen up a little, but his ears remained shot upright and
cautious. "Hey there Reck I'm Tails-" He looked aside for a
moment, why introduce yourself? Everyone right now knows who you
are because of the bounty, maybe it was out of politeness? He
shook his head and focused back. Sure enough, Reck confirmed
that he saw the girls and followed, the fox tried not to look
too anxious, people not knowing where his workshop was, was one
of the things he had going for him, but not this time.
Body language was something you eventually learned to read
better over time, and Tails could read that the porcupine seemed
a bit anxious, what for he didn't know but he had a hunch.
"Listen, I know everyone here is worked up and scared about
whatever this new villain said on the news" Tails took a bold
stance, holding up both hands to try and keep the room calm,
"But her words hold no merit, she can't prove her words hold any
sort of truth and Sonic and I and all of you have dealt with far
worse I'm sure, right? So let's all take a breather, and think
this out, there's got to be a better way to go about this then
to follow the wishes of some villain"
After Reck then made comment on Tails' workshop itself, "Um..
Well thanks! And hey I always like to see the work of other
inventors, if you wanted to show yours sometime, now probably..
Isn't the best time"
Soon after it was becoming a party when Tentei the detective
entered as well, knocking this time first to let the fox know he
was entering which was silently appreciated. "R-really? You're
the only officer who had the sense to put trust in us?" Somehow,
he wasn't surprised the cops seemed to not always appreciate
Sonic or his work, deeming it unethical and usually, it'd give
them no job to do. He was surprised though, that Tentei seemed
to go against what his job asked for to stick his neck out for
the fox. "That's incredibly brave of you Tentei, thank you" The
fox listened to the plan, letting the detective approach at a
safe distance. "This is a better alternative but I'm not so sure
it's solid enough to work, we need to plan something out more,
but I appreciate the thought I just-" He jumped as someone else
rolled onto the scene, taking a shot at Viola and Reck, Tails
back up more, almost bumping into Sonya, casting her a bit of an
anxious look in the process, there was a lot going on at once,
he needed to bail.
Getting a better look, Tails noticed it was Payback, someone he
knew Knuckles at least trusted enough as a go-to, how they knew
a different way into his workshop though was beyond him, he
frowned at them, but did appreciate they were trying to look out
for him. "[sub]Sonya, where did this villain say she wanted
Sonic and I brought to? If she mentioned at all[/sub]" He'd
whisper to the Fennec before standing up again, etching himself
towards the nearby desk which had his pilot helmet and goggles.
"Let's not get out of hand here, listen I don't know half of you
here well enough to know if you're here to help me, or trick
me-" The fox paused for a moment, glancing to the helmet. He
didn't want to leave his friends behind here, he needed more
time to think this out...
"If everyone could calm down and explain to me more about this
new villain, maybe we could work something smarter out" He
narrowed his eyes, casting a glance around the room, brewing up
a plan of his own in his mind as he waited for reactions and
responses.

The moment his blue irises latched onto her own Sonya felt the
worst of her hysteria subside. "I'm right here, I'm okay, it's
okay, take a breather, we'll sort this out okay?" Tears of
relief suddenly brimming in her own bright blue hues all she
could do was nod and wisely take a deep breath in an attempt to
calm her already frazzled nerves. Not entirely recognising the
purple hedgehogs voice at first Sonya inched back behind Tails
while she mentally tried to gather her bearings. Her large ears
flickering as Tails spoke she remained silent. As much as Sonya
wanted to believe that Viola had followed her to the work shop
with good intentions in mind but how could she? she was one
among quite a few now that were apparently just trying to look
out for Tails given the extremity of the circumstances and
because of that on top of her anxiety she was beginning to feel
extreme fearful. She liked Viola plenty but did she know her
well enough to vouch for her in regards to something as serious
as this? absolutely not. Mouthing the purple hedgehog an
uncertain. "I'm sorry." She looked away trying to ignore her
own personal form of guilt that threatened to consume her. She
didn't want to be mistrustful of Viola especially in a situation
like this but what choice did she have? she couldn't risk
letting her guard down and Tails getting hurt so until there
were facts in place this was how she was judging it. Like Tails
said they both didn't know these people well enough to know that
they were all genuine and if her instinctive feelings were
anything to go by not everyone here was.
Now focusing her attention on Reck she narrowed her eyes ever so
slightly. She recognised him vaguely from group outings because
of Rouge and he seemed like a friendly enough guy back then, but
now she wasn’t so sure. Everything about his mannerisms
screamed guilt. Or maybe she was being highly paranoid whatever
the case she didn’t want to find out. At the moment her
distrust may have only been a strong hunch but she’d seen
enough patients over the years to know the signs of a guilty
conscience when she saw one. In a way she felt sorry for Reck
everyone could how visibly anxious he was what the situation and
assuming he wasn't suffering a guilty conscience then he was
just as worried if not more than they were or maybe he was
feeling anxious because of what he was about to do? who knew.
But right now they had no way of knowing anything for sure.
Keeping at reasonable distance was the safest bet right now and
making sure that there would definitely be an exit if they did
decide to make a bolt for it. Nodding in agreement with Tails
miniature speech to an discharge the steadily growing tense
atmosphere she added. "He's right! we're all more than capable
of getting through this, we just have to try and keep things in
perspective." Sounding a lot stronger than she currently felt
the medic at least managed to maintain eye contact when
speaking.
Tilting her head a little, while she listened to the detective
explain his plan she managed a small smile in his direction.
While his plan was somewhat misguided his heart was at least in
the right place. And he was risking his entire career by doing
this and that said a lot about his character. But she was still
on edge. With so much going on at once it was a lot for her to
take in she needed a few moments of quiet everything around them
seemed so loud. "Thank you Tentei you did have the right idea
in mind really but Tails is eep!-" Jolting in sync with Tails at
the near by commotion when another new person arrived on the
scene, she shared the same anxious expression he threw her way
though she tried to console him by placing a reassuring hand on
his shoulder and giving it a firm squeeze, while they shuffled
backwards more to maintain distance. She didn’t recognise
the new person upon closer inspection but whoever they were they
sure had impressive aim and they obviously knew what they were
doing as far as handling their own went. She also noticed that
while she didn't recognise the mystery shooter Tails did and so
that comforted her immensely. Given the shooter had only choosen
to shoot at Reck and Viola they clearly weren't here to rack up
the bounty that was now on Tails head and had assessed who would
potentially or who could be potentially a threat before they
took action, so that crossed one of the other people in the room
off her mental bounty claiming suspect list.
Continuing to move backwards at the same time Tails did, her
large fluffy ears flickered at his whispering. “I.. Tails
i-I can’t remember.” The hysteria from earlier on
creeping back into her murmured tone the fennec squeezed her
eyes shut, trying desperately to remember the location that the
villain had instructed for Tails and Sonic to be taken. After a
few minutes of silence, the fennec murmured very softy into the
kits ear. She said.. I think .. she wants you both to be brought
to the Great Forest.. s-she said her lair is surrounded by
water.” Watching Tails gaze shift again to his helmet
and googles, the fox medic picked up what he was putting down.
While he addressed the rest of the group in an attempt to make
the situation potentially less hostile she discreetly splayed
her palm behind her back concentrating on making sure the items
wouldn't hit the ground and draw unnecessary attention. In sync
with her splayed fingertips Tails pilot helmet and googles would
find themselves gliding off there place on the table and into
her now clammy hands. Bringing both parts of his gear around to
her front, Sonya gently pressed his belongings into Tails hands
from behind without a word. If this conversation with the rest
of the group didn't go the way they hoped they were going to
need an emergency exit a lot sooner than originally anticipated.
"Tails something is wrong i don't like this.." Keeping her
voice as hushed as possible, felt her overly large ears droop.
Her sixth sense was going into overdrive and more often than not
when she felt like something bad was going to happen it did.

Viola took her hand slowly off of Sonya's shoulder when Tails
stepped in front of her, a little hurtful but only just the
slightest. Not being trusted does hurt, but with everything
happening at once and him not knowing her very well, it was
perfectly understandable and Vi took that into consideration.
The fact that Viola was very well entapped with emotions helped
her in this situation. Which brought her to the point when Sonya
backed away from her and behind Tails, this made Vi hold her
hands together against her chest in a protective manner, as if
she got burned and saddened from the pain. Seeing the fennec
mouth "I'm sorry." and the feelings that washed over her, Viola
knew and completely understood. That fact was now, there was no
possible way for anyone to trust her. She sighed but spoke in a
calm voice "Yes, I'm Viola. We met at the ice rink and I am
still very glad to have met you. I understand you being
standoffish towards me, I'll be sure to give you a reason to
trust me." She gave a soft friendly smile. "The fact is, after
watching the news, I saw Sonya running and felt her distress, it
worried me. The first friend I have made could be in trouble and
I needed to make sure she would be alright, I honestly didn't
know it would bring me here to your workshop." And that was the
exactly truth of it. Her voice and the the relax nature of her
body matched up with her words. Tails started to say that they
may have been followed and deep down she already knew that, it
was just a strong feeling of her's and the fact Reck came in
made her thoughts true. What she caught though, was the
undeniable sense of emotions, nervousness. That's not one of
innocent intent, this kind of nervous feeling is when you're
going to do something you know deep down you shouldn't. Her eyes
followed Reck as she focused on him to get a better
understanding of what he was doing. Vi trusted her instincts and
they said he was up to something, regardless of his own
noticeable inner confliction. The woman decided to keep quiet
because if he was up to no good and she called him out on it, he
could get rash and it could turn out bad. Better to watch and
see first.
Next a knock at the door made the hedgehog's left ear twitch in
that direction, a voice she has not heard, one who rang with
concerned emotion. Hearing that the police force now was after
Tails and Sonic instantly shiver with the fact that this just
got a lot harder because the average civilian was wanting to add
into it. "Great...". Was the thought in her head, to the rest of
the Freedom Fighter heroes, she was a civilian too, but at least
she knew how to handle her own. When the officer came in and
greeted himself, Vi gave a polite nod and a small introduction.
"Hello, Viola White, sir." She listened as Tails spoke to the
man, she felt no ill feelings for the officer, which was very
good. But now, there was something that caught her attention,
making the furless woman narrow her eyes as her now right ear
twitched at the faint sounds, the only reason why she could pick
it up because someone's feelings of needing to protect has
washed over her, it was not anyone she could see. For a moment,
she drowned out the sounds of everyone else to help her focus.
The only thing that she caught was the sound of friction between
clothing and pavement, the overwhelming feeling of anxiety hit
from the unknown and made her tense up just at the right time
that a lightly colored see through sphere came up and around
Viola like an energy barrier, blocking the two shots at her
legs. Her eyes looked up to the figure in front of her holding
the gun at her and put her hands up in front of her chest, she's
never had a gun pointed at her before and it quite frankly
scared her. "I-I mean no harm, I swear! I thought Sonya was in
trouble and so I followed her just in case! I-if she was in
trouble, at least she wouldn't be alone!" These words were true,
but would she be believed? The only one who could voice for her
was Sonya, but given the vibe Vi got from her, that was no
longer going to happen, the purple haired woman had to just hope
for the best.
Making sure she kept herself in the unknown person's view and
making herself relax, the energy barrier that came up slowly
dissipated until it was no more. Surely others would be confused
and that would be normal, because Vi was just as confused
herself in that matter. She closed her eyes and took in a slow
deep breath from her nose and a relaxing breath out through her
mouth before opening her eyes again. She then had herself calm
again and looked to Tails. "Her name is Lunette, as pretty as
her name sounds, her demands were not as so. She so casually
stated she wanted you and Sonic delivered alive at The Great
Forest. She promised a substantial reward for you two. Even
guilt with the lives of other's families and people who they
hold dear for those who can not be swayed by money. She went as
far as telling the planet that if they help bring you two in,
they have done the country and great service, she's appealing to
the honor in some people. Manipulating it." With that part
explained, she sighed. In order to even get the slightest bit of
trust so he knew that she wasn't one of the ones who bought into
it, she knew she would have to give a piece of her self up for
it. "I'm in no need of money, so I can't be bargained with, I
have plenty. As for family...I have none, maybe another day I'll
go into that. But I don't have a family to look out for and the
ones I hold dear, my childhood friend isn't anywhere around this
part of the planet so the closest friend I have is Sonya, and I
know your her friend. I wouldn't throw away a friendship I just
started and I kind of look up to you, even if we are just a
little different in age, so trying to take you to that nut is
completely out of the question for me." That was a lot more than
she ever planned on telling. But, if she was to be trusted, one
has to give a little to get a little.

Onboard the VTOL flying high above the clouds. The spider
sitting in the seat behind the two pilots would look to the 4
troopers on board.
"Now then I have a question for you all. What is the best way to
catch a Hedgehog?"
One of the troopers a large figure with a German shepherd's tail
sticking out would respond to his commanding officer.
"Find the fox, If we capture the fox then the Hedgehog might
follow suit."
The spider would smirk as she gets out of her chair "For a
trooper you are a sharp one. I like that in a soldier. Now then"
Inya would turn attention to the secondary pilot on the ship. "
Deploy the stealth orbs

Under the VTOL hull 4 small doors open as 3 spherical objects
launch from the craft in free fall. Upon reaching a certain

from each other as each would fly into the city with a mission.
