A day at the spa. (Rouge & Sonya)

The holidays had been busy, in between the club's event and her
personal life. Things had changed, Rouge felt in some kind of
limbo and was in need for a piece of advice and some quality
time with her best friend. She had made plans for both her and
her best friend to relax and probably discuss things she wasn't
sure whether or not it was a good idea to talk about it but
then, keeping it for herself wasn't the best solution either.
Before leaving, she sent a message to Sonya's phone.
''Hi darling, I hope that you are ready to be pampered and
relax. Christmas is finally over and I need to see you ASAP.
You know the address. I made a reservation for two and asked for
the best you won't regret it. Also, I kinda need to talk about
something and need your advice on the matter. I know right? Me
asking advice...anyway TTYL ''

A mixture of excitement and curiosity fuelling her as she made
her way into the usual place as Rouge so elegantly put it. From
the second Sonya stepped into the establishment she out
sheepishly out of place in her dark blue loltia dress and punk
rock boots. Vaguely aware that she’d attracted the attention of
some equally curious onlookers she coaxed herself into taking a
quiet and calm deep breath while she tried to think comfortingly
on the way to the front desk. ‘They’re probably staring at your
ears no big deal your’re used to it.. or maybe they’re staring
at your split ends? Wait no you don’t have split ends! Stop
being ridiculous Sonya..'
Fixing a polite smile across her crisp white muzzle she waited
for the glossy receptionist to acknowledge her before she
lightly cleared her throat and spoke. "Erm heya. I’m Sonya
Heart. My friend made a reservation for us here today.. she um
should appear any minute.” Releasing a nervous titter, she fired
off a quick text to Rouge. "Please come get me. feeling judged
by pretty much everyone that works here! this relaxation better
be as worthwhile as promised!” x

The bat arrived soon after and placed her hands over Sonya's
eyes and whispered in her sensitive ears. ''Guess who's here
with a surprise for her bestie?'' Asked the bat before spinning
her friend to make sure she'd be facing her and offered her
fresh towels and a basket full of bath and relaxation goodies.
''I had to make a quick stop and I made sure to secure only the
best employees to make sure to be treated like the fierce women
we are and I need help... So what d'you say?'' She asked playing
with one of Sonya's hair from the right hand and signalled the
desk employee that she arrived by snapping her fingers which
probably annoyed the hell out of said employee but she usually
left her a good tip and VIP passes for her club to compensate
her rudeness.

A pearly white grin spreading across her muzzle at the sound of
her best friends familiar voice. She allowed herself to spun
front ways her large ears pinning happily upwards atop her head
a sure fire sign that she was relaxed in her current company.
Wrapping her fingertips around the soft fluffy towels and other
treats that were being offered out towards her Sonyas blue hues
practically glittered in delight. “What do I say?.. I say lets
get this pamper session started! We have a TON of catching up to
do after all!” Though her grin didn’t falter she couldn’t help
but arch a playful eyebrow. “You needing my help for a change?
Now that really is a game changer. But I promise dear I’m all
ears literally.”

''Oh stop it, your opinions and help in general matters. You
should learn to see yourself as I see you. A brilliant
woman.''She said as she leads the way to the lockers.''The thing
I needed to talk about with you is that James and I shared a
moment. Something different? I am not sure what to think of it
because he is far from being a knight in shining armour and is
different from most men.''She briefly explained before stripping
and rolled a towel around her body before going for the hot
tubs. ''And when it comes to ears, mine are probably bigger so
stop worrying about it sister. Back to the main topic though, we
didn't talk about it after. Neither I or he tried to call of
other, yet.'' She said expressing her worries while stepping in
the hot water and leaned her head backwards to relax.

“Aww your’re so sweet when your’re buttering
up for free advice. But I’ll take the compliments
regardless thank you.” Beaming affectionately at her best
friend she fell into step beside her while they made their way
to the lockers her large fluffy ears flickering every so often
as she explained her situation. Not bothering to hide her
surprise at the mention of the polite but somewhat uptight
canine she almost snorted in amusement towards the end of her
comment. “I mean this respectfully Rouge but yeah no
kidding.. that officer is a nice guy and that’s just going
off of what I’ve seen when being around him briefly in a
social setting but there’s something solid and
unsentimental about him.. like the queen but obviously not the
queen because he’s male but you get me. Different is a
very generous adjective.” Changing out of her own dress, a
little more self consciously she wrapped her towel protectively
around herself following after her.
Giving her eyes a good natured roll at Rouges. "And when it
comes to ears, mine are probably bigger so stop worrying about
it sister." She gave the bat a light nudge but let her steer
back to the main topic at hand. “Hmm .. well the reason
James probably hasn’t called isn’t because
he’s not interested in you.” Pausing to slide
herself into the warm water she let out a quiet happy hum before
speaking again. “You’ve said it yourself right he
isn’t like most conventional guys. And if what I’ve
observed about him is accurate and not to brag but my
observations usually are. Then I’d say that James is
probably trying to figure out the most appropriate way to go
about this but in his own way. It’s more than likely that
he had a million things he wanted to say to you after the two of
you shared your moment he just didn’t know how at the
time. So unless you want to take the initiative and contact him
first this is a waiting game for you.”
Mimicking the bat she rested her head backwards allowing the
warmth of the hot tub to soothe the stress of her week away and
make room for a few minutes of peaceful silence. [b] "It's
funny.. i've never seen you get like this. You must really like
him."

''Yeah, I guess you can say that. Thing is, I don't know how to
proceed with this guy. He's not like every other guy. I'd gladly
put my life in between his hands and I know I'll be safe. He
just doesn't seem to know how to demonstrate affection as much
as most people do?'' She explained to her friend who reassured
her that perhaps it was worth giving it a shot. Meanwhile, the
employees brought the ladies drinks to refresh them before the
next part of the plan Rouge had paid for. Little did Sonya know
but a seance of massages with fine oils was next on the line
after the clay mask and the shampoo to freshen up the air.
''Maybe I'm overthinking things a little and shouldn't be
worried all that much and should let things go slowly. One day
at the time, like a slow dance.''

“In that case your’re going to have to show him how this romance
stuff works your’re a strong independent woman take control of
this. If your’re persistent with him despite the areas of
emotional experience you say he lacks in he’ll be more inclined
to open up to you. He may be uncertain about how to display
affection the way most people do but that doesn’t mean he
doesn’t want to you just have to remember that when trying to
move forward with him. Patience is key here.” Taking a small sip
of her mock-tail that had been placed near the side Sonya
offered Rouge a kindly smile. “One day at a time Rouge. Besides
when have you ever failed in wanting and getting your hands on
something you wanted?” Smirking at the bat in a matter a fact
way the fennec gave a small shrug of her shoulders under the
array of soothing bubbles. “It’ll only be a matter of time.”

'' I always get what I want, no matter how difficult. But it's
only when it concerns objects, and I don't treat people as
such.'' she said waving her hand to dismiss it. The hot water
was having an effect on her, relaxing her sore muscles. ''Oh, I
have reserved the best masseurs and we have an appointment with
heaven in a few minutes just for us two to relax.'' She said
chuckling. ''how's your life doing anyway? Because we can't only
talk about me. It's a US day.''

“This day keeps getting better and better. You really went all
out not that I’m complaining! I can’t remember the last time I
properly relaxed like this.” Sadly enough Sonya found that she
wasn’t over exaggerating. She rarely had time where she
concentrated on her own well being because her career centred
around putting other people first. It was nice getting to think
about herself for a change even if it was only for the rest of
the day. Pulling herself away from her thoughts in time to hear
the question that Rouge asked she almost awkwardly found herself
fiddling with a strand of her damp hair while she mulled over on
how to answer the question. Finally deciding to tell her the
truth well not exactly the truth but a more appropriate filtered
version she managed a content smile. “My life has been..
interesting. I moved out of my adopted familys house I had some
issues with my father so the space has benefited the both of
us."
"Now me and Amy Rose share a house together!” Her tone perking
right up at the mention of her other bestie she gushed her
praise. “She’s absolutely lovely. I think you would really click
with her as well. The three of us should do something sometime..
if your’re up for it of course.” Letting a few quiet moments
pass by the fennec debated further on whether she should even
mention the next part but her excitement about a certain green
hedgehog got the better of her. Trying to keep her tone as
casual as she could she lowered her gaze away from the bat
adding a little softer. “And oh i’m now in a relationship with
someone.. it's not a big deal though." Who was she kidding? of
course it was!
