Sonya willed herself not to lunge forward in an attempt gorge
out the offending jaguars eyes. She was usually a very patient
person but given the felines blatantly disrespectful reaction
she was dangerously close to reaching the end of her rope. Who
on earth did this cat think she was?! having the gaul to get on
her case about leaving her sister to her own devices when
she’d been watching her the entire time! Well mostly but
that wasn’t the point. By this time Sonya felt fury so
prominent that she was surprised that was still keeping
composure on the surface. ‘Keep breathing Sonya .. she
isn’t worth it.. you know that violence isn’t the
answer here you just need to appeal to her better
purpose..’ Letting out a small sigh, the fennec made sure
that she kept her tone of voice very pleasant in contrast to the
aggression the jaguar was still currently sporting. Putting the
pieces swiftly together Sonya could see that nothing that either
Viola or her were saying was registering with the cat at all.
Like Sebastian had said tunnel vision indeed. After a few
minutes of quiet observation. She answered her question very
bluntly. “On the Kingdom of Acorns authority I mean
that’s easily how this could go make no mistake that it
would be simple for me to have you detained as fast as I can
snap my fingers BUT because it’s the festive season
I’m going to take the high road and present a different
approach to you.”
Her large ears flickering, she threw a glance over her shoulder,
flashing the purple hedgehog a grateful smile for her
contribution to defusing the situation goodness knows she needed
the extra hand. Seeing that Louise was no longer sobbing her
eyes out brought Sonya pangs of intense relief that she easily
let show across her features. “Louise I’m going to
wrap this quick now listen carefully little one because what
I’m about to say next to this lady is important.”
Focusing her attention directly on the jaguar Sonya let her have
it. "Now this is obvious but that little duckling behind me that
you senselessly made cry she may be of little relevance to you
but she is EXTREMELY important to me it’s because of my
sister that I’m inspired to be the best version of myself
that I can be everyday she’s my inspiration and I would do
anything for her. Someone that isn't willing to even grant her
an apology for a mistake that wasn't entirely her own is not
worth either of our time. You are supposed to be the adult here
[b]ACT LIKE IT or don't in all honesty i don't care because
your're the only one looking foolish here."
"So continue to make threats continue to undermined me
that’s fine but you should be ashamed of yourself I
haven’t been in your company long and I can see how much
you care about Sebastian but the way your’re acting now is
horrifically out of line and he deserves better but if this is
how you want him to see you as someone that can only resolve a
situation through a means of aggression and potential violence
then by all means continue but i’m not going to let Louise
endure being around you anymore we’re done happy
holidays.” Her tone much more friendly when addressing
the younger of the pair, she ignored the older jaguar. “It
was very nice to meet you Sebastian .. listen if you ever feel
uncomfortable around your current guardian please do not
hesitate to contact me.” Tucking her medical business
card gently into the folds of his fur, she stood up straight re
taking Louise by her tiny hand, as she spoke to Viola again.
“Okay lets go I can practically hear that funnel cake and
hot chocolate calling!” Her voice now much more child
friendly for her sisters sake, Sonya suppressed her more
negative emotions in regards to the situation. Ordinarily Sonya
wouldn't have been s plain spoken with a stranger but the jaguar
had hit a nerve.

The purple haired female was really trying her absolute best at
behaving and to not lash out at this narrow-minded feline.
Clearly the two differ on how to watch their siblings and
nothing is wrong with that, but that wasn't the issue. The issue
solely lied upon the fact that two children were having fun and
accidentally ran into on another, that's all. A simple I'm sorry
and a few child like giggles, and this all would have been down
and over with. But no, they are having to deal with someone
making a little girl cry because she doesn't know how to act
towards children, or around them for that matter. This
irritation came to the point that Vi had to bite on the inside
of her lip like her habit makes her do when she's feeling
anxious of any sort. As listening to the words were exchanged
she knew that words alone was not going to get them anywhere and
this feline wanted, probably craved a physically confrontation.
The hedgehog would normally oblige with clear invitation because
she does not sit well with other's threatening her, especially
others. And a new friend she just made. Absolutely not. But,
unlike the black furred bigger cat, Viola knew what was
important and that was making sure the little were care for. So
if that meant semi letting her be talk down to, so be it. Sonya
was handling it better than she would, she would be right there
with her but one needed to distract the children.
Viola noticed the smile that Sonya gave her and was answered
with a nod and a smile on her own. Like a fast conversation,
there was a mutual understanding that didn't have to be put into
words. She told Louise to listen, she moved to the side to be
next to Sebastian and Louise while still kneeling down at their
level. That way they both can listen to the words and see what
an actually mature adult handles this situation. While Sonya
explained just how important the little duckling was, Vi
simultaneously rubbed the little girls back in a comforting
manner like when you just to console someone that you care
about. The little one needed to know just how her sister felt
and that it was okay to get a little emotional hearing your
older sister say such words. In fact, it made Viola smile a
little in hearing it. It was nice to see people having their
family and being there for them as well, knowing that duckling
to her side was very well loved and cared for. But the cub on
her other side, although it was clear in it's own way that his
sister cared for him, it was also clear that she didn't know how
to go about it. And as much as she wanted to help the little cub
and his sister have a better relationship, Vi currently wanted
to show her what happens when people are nothing but angry
bullies.
Once Sonya got to the point of telling her that she wasn't going
to let Louise be subjected to this kind of negativity during
such a loving and positive time of year, Viola knew just what
they were doing next. She looked to the duckling as Sonya
talking to the cub. "Alright, little one. Remember, I'm paying.
So, you don't have to have what I offered, there are other
things there too. So long as it's okay with your big sister, you
can have what your little heart wants. Okay?" She said with a
warm smile and patted her head in a caring way. Once the blonde
fennce was done talking to Sebastian, it was Vi's turn as she
moved to face him. "I'm sorry you can't join us little one, but
an offer is still an offer." Viola took out her wallet she kept
in her back pocket and gave the cub just enough money to get
some hot chocolate and a snack like she said she would get it.
"Consider it a Christmas present. Merry Christmas, Sebastian."
Viola said with a smile and patted his head too, standing up and
facing the fennec and duckling as she clapped her hands
together. "Alright! I saw a sign saying there is a little cafe
above us. So we can go and relax up there and after we're done,
maybe we can see above you sister dragging me on the ice to
skate." Viola looked down at the duckling and laughed. "You say
you're still learning to skate? I've never been ice staking
before, so I'll tell you, you're better at it than I am. So
maybe you can teach me? What do you say, hm?" She wasn't going
to stake, even though she felt compelled too because of the kind
offer. But now? Anything to make this little girl have fun again
and enjoy wanting to skate, even if it meant not being able to
sit without her rear hurting because she'll be falling on it a
lot, she just knew it.

The mention of the royal house did seem to resonate with the
jaguar slightly but she didn't falter as she was seemingly ready
to respond. So the fox was the duckling's sister? That would
explain a few things. A sister leaping to the younger sibling's
defense, she could at least understand that part. It was exactly
what she did. It just didn't look like she was there to
supervise the girl during her little adventure. Before she could
retort however, Sonya made her snap out of her tunnel-visioned
state when she started to mention her brother. Just by looking
at how her pupils shrank and the hint of white under her fur as
she grew pale indicated that she had completely forgotten and
now realized exactly what she had allowed to happen as they
left. The card only stung deeper as Sebastian seemed reluctant
to receive both the card and the money. Of course he thanked
them both as he was taught but it was clear that it was making
him uncomfortable as he looked to his big sister.
"S- so... what now, sister?" he asked her carefully, "ca- can i
go or should we head home?"
"I- i-" Sabine stammered as she tried to figure out what to do
while supporting herself against the outer ring with one hand
and covered her eyes with the other, "g- go on. B- be with them.
You have my permission. I need to think a- alone."
"Are you okay?" Sebastian asked carefully, "it- it was just an
offer."
"Yes i am, now go! Have fun!" Sabine snapped in a firm tone
which made it clear to Sebastian that she was serious and the
conversation had ended. As he turned to leave though, he
couldn't help but feel it sting that she used that tone against
him. Just as much as it stung for Sabine that she had used it.
Once she saw him carefully skate off and try to catch up, she
went to the sideline and sat down. What had she done? How did it
get so far? Why didn't she stop? This was shameful, truly
shameful that she had been so utterly tunnel-visioned and
determined to get physical. It wasn't the first time she had had
such incidents. They were more common than she cared to admit,
but this was in front of her brother. Her brother that looked up
to her and she loved. He had tried to stop and she had waved him
off to keep the whole thing going. He had tried to stop it so
the fun could've kept going... and she had brushed it aside in
favor of not giving an inch of ground to her perceived enemy.
As she sat there and thought, she forced herself to toughen up,
she wasn't going to let the shame take control in the same way.
She never allowed that to happen in public. Even if she felt
like it was going to crush her now. That just left the issue of
dealing with it. She had to apologize, of that there was no
doubt. But she was still uncertain how to go about it. Should
she just waltz in and get it over with? No, they would never
accept it as sincere if she did that. Should she just leave it
be? No, she knew that she at least tended to hold grudges, no
doubt they'd likely do the same. So she had to admit she was
wrong and apologize, but she now had to figure out how to do it
properly.
"He- Hey, hold up!" Sebastian called after Sonya, her sister and
Viola as he ran after them, "she- she said yes. S- so here i am.
But... she didn't seem alright about it. I- i tried to ask but
she just told me off. She rarely does that. I don't know why."
He then took a deep breath and tried to ignore it while forcing
a little smile, "w- where were you heading?"

Upstairs in the café area.
___
Set up comfortably by windows that were now misting over in a
winter fog Sonya finally felt herself relax. Well relax as much
considering seeing as she still wanted to rip the jaguars head
from her man shoulders. Raising her now lukewarm hot chocolate
cup to her lips Sonya smiled into her beverage finding a small
amount of solace from her imaginary scenarios about putting the
feline in her place. Only faintly aware that the blonde
feathered one snuggled on her lap had paused her amusingly
animated conversation about the wonders of unicorns to both
Sebastian and Viola complete with hand gestures the concern was
evident in her tone as her baby blue eyes met her sky blue ones.
“Sis.. are you okay?” Blinking owlishly Sonya was
all to quick to console her. “I am now that you are
don’t worry about me.” Gripping her hand
affectionately but gently on top of Louises head, she gave it a
squeeze, before bringing her attention back to the purple furred
darling across from them. Her kindly towards Louise earlier on
the ice while she’d been giving the jaguar a raging piece
of her mind hadn’t gone amiss with the fox medic and it
was more than apparent that it hadn’t with Louise either.
Sonya had never seen her sister warm up to a stranger so rapidly
she was normally so shy around new people it was a treat to see
her readily coming out of her shell.
“Viola i can’t thank you enough for the way you
stepped in today .. I mean not that I’m not grateful but
you barely know us and still went out of your way to come and
help defuse the situation anyway.. not a lot of people go out of
there way to fight a fight that isn’t their own in this
day and age.” Beaming up at her, Louse poked her elder
sister playfully in the cheek before she cut in. “What she
means is you were a total hero! and we owe you big time!”
Fondly shaking her head Sonya scooted Louise gently off her lap,
and into the space beside her. “Right you are little duck
what you did both me and Louise today was huge and we
won’t forget it.” With a friendly wink, Sonya
excused herself. “I’ll be right back! I swear hot
chocolate goes right through me!” Needing a few minutes
alone to try and clear her head she wandered off, leaving Louise
and Sebastian in the care of her new friend. Watching her older
sister excuse her for the bathroom, in the moments that followed
the enthusiastic eight year seemed to simmer down in the fennecs
absence.
Looking almost as if she was closing in on herself, the duckling
lowered her baby blue irises to the top of her untouched hot
chocolate. She suddenly spoke, her tone deprived of the
happiness she had overly radiated only minutes ago for Sonyas
sake. “She’s always doing this for me going out of
her way to protect me in situations that she has intention of
getting involved in but somehow I always end up involved in
anyway.” Her tiny fists clenching Louise continued.
“Sonya she doesn’t need all this.. and most of the
time I feel like-like .. I cause her more hurt than happiness I
mean look at today this was supposed to be fun and because I was
clumsy and careless I ruined it..”

Rouge was now facing James while skating backwards. It wasn't
easy but it was worth it, seeing him embarrassed was worth it.
It was the first time the two friends actually acted as such.
While she seemed to skate gracefully she was trying her best not
to fall again and would occasionally flap her wings discretely
to remain up. ''I think I will need one after this, my ankles
began to hurt from standing on these blades.''And although it
did hurt and she expressed it. She was still happy and
eventually slowed down just to get a little closer to James. It
was a little, awkward even for her but she figured she'd try
anyway. ''I hope there's a café nearby because I could use a
snack, and perhaps a more quiet place. It seems people argued
over there and since neither of us is on duty I'd like not to
get involved and for once be a civilian.''She whispered to her
skating partner and then giggled.

As they were about to head up the stairs, Viola heard the little
cub's voice again. She stopped and turned around to wait for him
and Sonya and Louise continued up. Looking passed the little boy
back at his sister for just a moment before giving him a
welcoming smile and motioned her hand up the stairs. "We're
staying in the building, so you won't have to worry about going
to far away from her. If she wasn't okay with it, I really don't
think she would allow you to join us, considering the events
that just happened. Your sister may still be in the process of
cooling down and came off harsh to you, I'm sure it'll get
better." She told the little cub in hopes that it would help
give a little comfort to his heart. Once she led the cub
upstairs to the cafe as she looked for the fennec and the
duckling. The moment she found them though, she ordered a drink
and a funnel cake for both herself and Sebastian before making
her way to sit at the table. Sonya was clearly in thought do to
what happened and it was understandable, the thoughts were still
there for the hedgehog too, especially with have the younger
sibling with them. Viola watched the two female siblings as
Louise brought her sister out of her window staring trance. She
could really see the bound between the two of them and it was
nice. Really nice to see family bonding like that, despite the
reasoning for it. The furless female looked down to her cup and
moved the straw around and around in the cup in thought of how
nice it must feel to have someone, anyone. Not just a romantic
thing at all, romance for herself was way far in the back of her
mind that it would more than likely never come out for anyone.
It was more than that. Viola actually deeply craved for family
and friendship because she had neither. She used to, but that
was a long time ago, another life in her eyes.
Viola was pulled out of her deep thought when hearing the
fennec's voice say her name as her ears twitched from it. Making
her look up, she listened to the words that were said. It really
did mean a lot, truly, but it made her think on it. She really
did just forced her way into a situation that was not her own,
she could have just shrugged her shoulders and walked away, but
she didn't. She stayed and furthermore, she was willing to stand
her ground against a stranger for another. But Vi knew who was
in the right and who was in the wrong, and she knew that there
were children caught in the middle and that is what really
pulled her heart into action. Viola gave both Sonya and Louise a
warm smile when they complimented her, even gave her heart a
little excitement when the duckling called her a total hero. It
was the first for her and it was a really nice feeling. "Thank
you very much you two, really, it means a lot. I couldn't just
stand there and not help out when I knew that I could do
something to turn the situation for the better. No need to owe
me anything, I just did what I felt was right." The female
smiled once more then watched as Sonya excused herself.
The hedgehog pushed some funnel cake to both Louise and
Sebastian while keeping some for herself, more than enough to
fill their little bellys. But the attention she had fell to the
girl, immediately feeling the change in emotion like the breeze
of the wind changing for rain. She felt it, the sadness of her
feeling like she was a burden and the cause of many problems. As
the words came out of her mouth, it proved the reading she got
was spot on. "Little ducky, that is was older siblings are for.
They will always be there to protect you and be there for you,
big or small. That is their job. And although it seems to be a
burden, I can fully promise you that it's not. She will always
be there for you at a moments notice and not think twice about
anything but you, because she loves you. The way she came as
quick as she did and the way she stood her ground for you shown
that. You give her so much joy and make her strive to be a
better person. That is a very great and meaningful spot in
someone's heart. So, don't worry about Sunshine, you make her
life and her heart brighter. Remember that." Viola told her in a
very calm and caring voice, she meant every word of it. Viola
took some powered sugar on her finger and gently booped her
cheek with it and giggled. Then she looked at the cub. "As for
you, you are very mature for your age and although I don't know
you, I can say that I am proud of you. You were very calm and
understanding. And believe it or not, you helped us understand
your sister a little more. I can tell that your sister does in
fact care about you. Once she finally saw her mistake, she
stopped. Maybe give her some time and later try to talk to her.
She wants to looks after you and protect you, but is too
abrasive about it. She may learn and adapt. Once calm, maybe we
can all can sit down and have a calm and civilized talk about
what happened. Would that make you feel better?" Of course,
Viola and Sonya needed to calm down themselves and have to talk
about it before going on with this.

The golden furred two tailed fox certainly felt overjoyed to see
an invite from Sonya to hang out at the skate rink today, and he
sure wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to spend time with
Sonya and their friends, that was for sure. But boy he did feel
bad that he was late! He had a checklist of things to quickly do
before grabbing his ice skates and heading off to the rink,
hoping his friend would forgive him for arriving at such a late
time. He of course would be using his own personally made ice
skates though, the fox seemed to enjoy making his own things for
even the simplest of situations.
Finally arriving at the rink, the boy would tie on his odd
looking skates, they still looked like his casual shoes but more
fancy, with a frosted snowflake pattern that faded into the red
of his shoe and decked out for the cold weathers and of course
with the skates on the bottom. With his ice skates now on he
would wobble himself back up onto his feet and look rather proud
of his self-made skates for a moment before then taking a look
around for Sonya and friends.
While he did notice the rink wasn't empty of course and Rouge
was a somewhat familiar face, he didn't see the friend who had
invited him in the first place and going on without her simply
would not do! He hadn't been here very often and certainly not
recently, but he did recall they had a cafe just upstairs, maybe
she went there for a break? He really hoped she hadn't left yet.
Taking in a deep breath, he'd wobble and waddle his way up to
the cafe, when he got there he still could not see Sonya though
as she'd excused herself to the bathroom by the time he made it
up. He looked a little disheartened feeling as though maybe she
had headed home already and he had been too late, but he was
here now anyway and the cafe always had really tasty looking
treats. Deciding to get something for himself, he'd wave to the
purple hedgehog and who she was with as he passed. The little
duck seemed familiar in some way... "Hey uh-" If he couldn't
find her, maybe he could ask around at least? He'd stop by where
the small group was, "Sorry to interrupt! I'm looking for a
friend of mine, she's a fennec fox called Sonya, she's about
this tall and has a creamy coloured coat, very pretty and has
sky blue eyes, has she been here by any chance?"

After speaking with the little kids and watching the two of
them, she heard a male's voice that seemed to be slightly
younger than Viola herself. Her heard turned to the sound and
noticed that right before her eyes was the young genius that
she's read about in the papers over the past years. A little
starstruck that her brain had to register that she was actually
seeing this kid, well, not a kid now. Viola blinked twice to
snapped herself out of it and answered the male's question.
"Sonya? She excused herself for just a moment. I promise she'll
be back, she won't leave without her little sister here." She
said as she motioned to Louise. Viola smiled at the kids before
looking back at the twin tailed fox, it just had to be him and
she was going to no doubt find out, but in a subtle way. Meeting
one person is slow, but it's the best way for her to meet people
so she wouldn't get overwhelmed at feel...out of place. "Allow
me to introduce myself, my name is Viola White." That was her
name now, has been since she was about six years old and that
was the name that was needed to be know, not her other one. "I'm
not from the city and this is really only my third time. But I
think I made fast friends with Sonya, and her little sister.
It's nice to meet you." She said in kind way as she extended her
hand.

Hanging onto Violas every word the more the hedgehog talked the
lighter the young duckling began to feel. She wasn’t wrong about
anything she was saying Sonya had been looking out for her since
she could walk. Her older sisters love for her was certainly no
question but it still felt nice for someone that wasn’t apart of
her family who had an outside perspective to do so. She couldn’t
explain it but it was different. Not to say that she didn’t
listen whenever he older sister tried to reassure her worries
she did, but Violas outlook on their relationship was so clearly
candid she was far less likely to be reassuring under
obligation. Her beak flushing a light shade of pink in response
to new nickname she’d been given Louise beamed back at the older
girl. “Thank you so much Viola!-“ Suddenly distracted by the
sound of a vaguely familiar voice, the youngest quack found
herself looking up at her sisters friend Tails though her
expression carried a look of polite uncertainty for a moment
before the penny dropped. “Hi there Tails! yeah.. she should be
back any minute.”
After splashing her face a few times with more room temperature
than actually cold water the previously frazzled fennec was now
feeling significantly better. Though now she felt guilty for
having randomly excused herself when Louise was still worrying
about her. Her letting negative emotions control her felt so
unlike her but that jaguar had really taken the cake. Ignoring
the dwindling fury that was still trying to fight its way back
to surface Sonya took a controlled breath centring herself until
she felt ready to go and re join her company. Making her way out
of the bathroom and heading back in the direction of the table
with much more of a spring in her step, her mood only further
improved at the sight of an all too familiar golden furred fox.
Much like how she’d behaved when interacting with Rouge earlier
her guard was instantly down. Having already heard Viola
cheerfully take care of introductions she beamed a brilliantly
white smile as she came to a stop at his side throwing her arms
lightly around him in an affectionate but playful embrace.
“TAILS! I’m so glad you came!” Giving the boy a warm squeeze she
pulled back to give him a once over her blue hues practically
twinkling from the excitement of seeing her dear friend. Her
gaze coming to a stop on his modified ice skates the compliment
that was on the edge of her lips soon followed. “I absolutely
love your ice skate design! the detail in the frosted
snowflakes looks lovely! heh I’m guessing that’s partly the
reason why your’re late?” Fondly giving a shake of her head her
blonde curls bounced back and forth with the motion. “It doesn’t
matter you came and that’s the important thing! I see that my
new friend has already introduced herself and well you know
Louise.. and the cub is Sebastian he's a new friend of sorts to
but that's a slightly more complex explanation.”

Sebastian looked at Viola as she reassured him that Sabine
didn't mean it and was likely still trying to calm herself down
and had accidentally vented on him. It didn't help a lot, but it
was better than nothing, "if you say so. I guess that makes
sense."
The hot chocolate was nice though and so was the funnel cake. It
did help him push the whole affair into the back of his mind as
he sat with them. Even then, the tension was still there,
especially as Sonya left them and Louise started to speak her
mind. While things had calmed down the effects were still felt.
"Um... thanks, miss," he timidly trailed in response to Viola's
compliment. It was kinda strange to receive compliments from
people he barely knew, "i don't know what i did, but if it help
you understand her better that's a good thing."
The next part of her speech did sting him though, she was right
about that Sabine cared for him immensely but she was also right
she had a strange way of showing it. Well, not to him, she was
always able to put a smile on for him but outside the house...
she tended to lose that smile very quickly. And, if what some of
his very few friends had told him was true, the way he saw her
was unique to him and the rest saw her as the polar opposite.
"Uh, ye- yeah," he nodded when he was asked if a civilized talk
would make it all better, "i- i would feel better than. I- i
don't remember seeing her so fired up in a long time. Normally
those she confronts back off and apologizes. Not this time
though."
His train of thought was derailed somewhat as a new arrival
showed up, a yellow fox with two tails that was looking for
Sonya. Even Sebastian knew his name at least, he had heard it
mentioned before at school when he listened in on the other
kids. Still, he kept quiet through the whole exchange and
covered up his silence by slowly eating some more of the cake
rather than just sitting there unmoving. It was only when Sonya
returned and introduced them all that he responded, and even
then it only amounted to a small smile and wave of the hand. To
think the fox already called him a friend, despite his sister
laying into them all and threatening them with physical
violence. It felt strange, even if he had nothing to do with it,
they had barely met... how did that make him a friend?
