Circle of Life

[center](Sapphire is 17, Robin 18 and Caroline 20)[/center]
Today was a little different to the usual, but also not entirely
unfamiliar to the girls and also was an anniversary of sorts to
something important from when they were little. Caroline by now
was no stranger to her teacher, Doubles but it wasn't often that
she and her sister would go to his island spot together. Usually
it would be just Caroline for power training. Today though
marked fourteen years since they had first gone to Doubles
together for lessons, originally they had been brought there by
Tails, but now they were both old enough to get there on their
own.
Sapphire would pull on her signature one piece suit and boots to
match as Caroline slipped on a slim black one-piece and fitted a
red short shirt on top, sliding on her red long-sleeved coat
afterwards and attaching all of her usual red rings before then
slipping on her own boots. "At least take a scarf with you too
please" the feline would say to her sister, placing her hands on
her hips. "I realise its not winter yet but the weather could
make a turn for the worse on the way there, you never know"
"Okay Mum" Sapphire would sass back, shaking her head with a
smile as she pulled a green scarf off the hanging rack by the
door, "Isn't that Robin's?" "He won't mind, c'mon, let's go!"
Rather then fly there, the girls opted instead to use Caroline's
warping abilities, with some effort, the cat eventually managed
to make a portal they could go through, letting Sapphire go
first before then hopping into it herself and closing it behind
them.
Now on the island, it had a savannah setting overall but the two
had teleported somewhere oddly specific, it was for sure the
island but they were standing in the middle of a strange circle,
"Huh" Sapphire exclaimed as she looked around, it was such an
odd place for a random circle to be, but here it was and it
wasn't exactly just any old circle either. Caroline felt as
though it was important to her in some way and she'd move a hand
to her heart, but nothing was coming to mind, she would have to
work it out later. So for now she paid mind to what else was
there with the circle.
Doubles' old helmet which was now overgrown and blended into the
setting was also there, Caroline would smile at it fondly,
remembering the times she used to pinch it off of him to wear it
for herself as it always made her feel strong and safe. Aside
from the helmet there was also a mural, but it was rather
strange with its representation and Caroline couldn't make much
sense of it. Sapphire couldn't seem to either and she'd simply
shrug looking to her older sister, "I'm sure it means something
important, I thought you'd know?" Caroline shook her head back
"I wish I did, I'm pretty sure this is the circle he's talked
about though, you know? The one where he made a great discovery
and understood something more? I'm sure he'll explain it in full
when he gets here though"

Less than a minute later, Doubles himself had arrived from
above! [shadow=white,left]”Aha, there you two are. Hello,
hello~!”[/shadow] he called, swerving around plantlife and
finally coming to a soft landing a few paces away, he greeted
the girls with a bow. [shadow=white,left]”I trust that you two
are well?”[/shadow] Right now, he was wearing his full high
tech suit and helmet once again, highly optimized and capable of
far outshining what he used to have way back when.
[shadow=white,left]”By the way, that there warp portal was very
nicely done, Caroline. You're synchronizing rather well, I'd
say.”[/shadow] Doubles added with a nod.
Noting the curiosity in regards to the long overgrown mural,
Doubles tilted his head, intrigued. [shadow=white,left]”Ahhh,
Sapphire, I don't believe you've actually seen this before, am I
right?”[/shadow] With a quick look to Caroline, Doubles then
gazed upon the entirety of the mural. [shadow=white,left]”I
assume your sister has at least mentioned it... Well, you see,
the area around this mural is quite special. As I'm sure you
know— In my younger days I made a great discovery here; I ended
up understanding something a lot more.”[/shadow] With a bit of a
cheeky chuckle, Doubles straightened out his posture with his
hands held behind his back.
[shadow=white,left]”Now, I do intend on revealing why exactly;
but I also want to make the fifteenth anniversary of my tutelage
and academic help that much more special and reveal it in full
then. I will, however, say this—”[/shadow] Doubles brought a
hand in front of himself and held a finger up for attention, and
to put emphasis on what he was about to say.
[shadow=white,left]”It is related to my research on Meta-Mobian
abilities, you see these images here?”[/shadow] He stepped
aside, gesturing to the gathering swirls of colours that each
had points where they were most pronounced, with vague somewhat
faded figures behind them... Maybe they were familiar on closer
inspection? [shadow=white,left]”Each of these represent a
power.”[/shadow] Doubles was quite proud of this and it showed
in his voice, it was clear he was in some way fighting not to
completely explain everything. He did say he wanted to make the
15th year celebration of his teachings special after all.
[shadow=white,left]”Does that satisfy your curiosities for the
moment? What do you think about the artwork itself? We have time
before we move on.”[/shadow]
