He shifted to look at the TV once more "yeah.." Amy isn't the
only one to make everything okay, Rouge's understanding of his
position casted away a massive chip on his shoulder,
prioritizing his well being for a while will allow him to come
to terms with his feelings. The ultimate lifeform need something
to occupy himself in the meantime, Rouge's suggestion of black
nail polish didn't dissipate his memories of handling the
product.
"The smell is still unpleasant, lets get this over with" he
picked up the remote to turn off the TV, ruby eyes scanned over
the components, they glanced at Rouge awaiting instructions.

Rouge took out her kit that included the nail polish, the
remover and so on and presented them to Shadow with a smirk. Of
course, she didn't want him to do all of the work but it was
priceless to see him cooperate. ''I think we should start with
the toes, they are less susceptible to stain anything. Do you
want to your own too?''She asked him playfully while expecting
him to refuse, but it was too fun to no try. ''Don't worry, at
least I won't do you a makeover although you could use a little
touch.'' She said to tease him, as he always looked so serious
and broody at times.
She gave him a second or two and opened a little porcelain box
on her coffee table to reveal coffee-cream flavoured fine
chocolates. This was a treat she only saved for the days she had
Shadow's company.

A deadpan expression returned, not so subtle on lack of
amusement "No thanks" Shadow retrieved a bottle of nail polish
from the toolkit she sprung out, he removed the top and
carefully applied the liquid texture on her big toe. "How long
you and the officer have been in affair?" trying to distract
himself from the odor, he isn't one to have an interest in
prying into her life, its only fair if she acquired information
to know everything about the ultimate lifeform.

''It's funny you ask because it happened not long ago. I was
tired of not knowing the person I went for coffee every
Wednesday. I mean, we work for the same organisation albeit at
different levels and have been friends for a while. Well, if we
can call it friends. We were but mere acquaintances, then
colleagues and eventually, something got my curiosity like the
shine of a gem. I wanted to know who Mitchell was.'' She began
to explain and words just kept coming. She hadn't realized she
was talking so much and grabbed a chocolate from the box and
took a small bite of it, releasing the coffee aroma in the room.
''We ended up arguing, and it was mostly my fault. I was
questioning myself about where did we stand. Was it friends,
colleagues or acquaintances. He always used to say that we were
close, a little more than colleagues but not friends and it
ended up in something akin to a fight but not quite? when it
ended up on a sour note, but something had changed. He had
changed and I wanted to know more of that man behind the badge.
"She had spoken too much, there was no mystery left. Shadow knew
everything, no bite-sized pieces of info for him to track. The
bat had spilt the beans and she had her cheeks illuminated with
a pink tint giving the signal that emotions were taking over
logic.

Shadow concentrated on the foot he is working on, as he listened
to her story he would apply the black texture on each of her
right foot toes. "Hm, sounds like you are have trouble with your
friend as well" he answered. looks like the both the agents have
made mistakes with the one they cherish, these unfortunate
events allowed them to learn about each other in ways they have
never been exposed to before. Shadow begin work on her other
foot, he dipped the small brush into the bottle, he pampered the
strong liquid on her other big toe.
"Allow me to share my advice, don't expect a guy to expose his
feelings right away, he may not view you as someone close to him
yet, let it run its course, have patience" he stated, hoping to
put her mind at ease.

''Right, I supposed I should have waited. I am not used to
feeling like this about someone, let alone trying to express
it.'' She had carefully listened to Shadow, he made sense. He
was probably the only one capable of helping her in this
particular case. Not helping her to reach him but instead
helping her understand how to deal with the situation with
patience and care.''I suppose I tried to burn steps, that is if
there are steps to climb at all.''She said jokingly before
looking at her toes.''Wow Shadow, you are good at painting
nails!''She said complimenting her friend.

"Hmph" Shadow snorted, he concentrated on finishing the rest of
her toes, each of them are covered in a black texture, he didn't
want to get too sentimental but he needed this talk, no need to
beat himself up over it, everything is going to be okay.
