Advice from a Spy (Shadow & Rouge)

The ultimate lifeform finally landed in front of Rouge's
residence following a dreadful pain inducing journey, the black
hedgehog didn't hesitate to press the door bell not once, but
twice in rapid succession, he normally wouldn't do that out of
common courtesy, in this circumstance its an emergency so its
justified. A tough obstacle Shadow has to overcome is playing
the waiting game and praying to mobius Rouge is chilling at home
on a day off. Its very tempting to pace around her porch to
express his urge to panic, the knife stuck in his leg serving as
a reminder he could die if his artery were to get torn apart,
best to not make any sudden moves.
Shadow beginning to grow impatient decided to knock on the door
as loud as he could to get her attention, the clock is ticking,
he is unsure how long would it take for him to him to pass out
from excessive blood loss, he certainly doesn't want to find
out.

Rouge in bed was lying. The recent events had been though, and
she had decided to relax and have some "me time". While in fact
her day wouldn't go as expected. For once she had let her hair
loose and it had been growing, the bat looked not that the spy
everyone was used to. But more of the next bachelorette from a
reality show. Though it wasn't the intention, she wasn't dressed
to impress. The door rung not once but twice. But who could that
be? Not a lot of people knew her adress, much less visit without
a prior phonecall, a text or at least being summoned. Like the
delivery guy from earlier, who brought her a pizza. On a day off
a good pizza was welcomed. The bat got out of bed and slipped in
her robe to hide her pyjama.
As she left her bedroom looking like a hot mess, she wondered
who would ring the bell twice to end up knocking on the door so
loudly. To whomever had dare make so much noise the bat wouldn't
be so kind, or so she thought. Because when she opened the door
she realized time was a limited ressource for her friend
bleeding on the porch. "Oh chaos! What happened to you? Come in,
you know where the bathroom is just go there, now!" She ordered
him in shock. Right now she didn't really want to know why or
how. She wabted ger friend to be safe and to avoid him losing
consciousness.
"I'm getting the firstaid kit, you go sit in the bath." She said
loudly through her domicile and swiftly walked to the room she
had previously ordered him to go.

He never thought he could be excited to hear a doorknob turn
from the other side, thank chaos Rouge is home! Shadow began to
open his mouth to explain his dilemma, no sound came out of his
voice due to being told to go inside to be treated for his
wound. The ultimate lifeform grimaced as he limped towards the
bathroom being cautious in every step he takes, he was moving at
a relatively decent pace, not too quickly nor too slow,
somewhere in between he could manage.
He planted his spiny butt on the lid of the toilet seat, not
before his teeth are mashed together, a sign Shadow is
struggling to do simple actions without hurting himself, muscles
tighten around his leg experiencing a sharp pain comparable to a
charlie's horse, the carrot cutting object isn't making it
better. "Rouge I can explain..." he began, his eyes shifted to
stare at his long time friend in the face, glimmers of guilt and
regret had replaced the usual stone cold expression. The way
Shadow spoke wasn't a good sign either, nothing stern or
emotionally distant came through his vocal cords, vulnerability
is the best way to describe it.

"Right now you're sitting down and we need to clean up the wound
first. You're not gonna like this part and neither will I." She
said slipping gloves on with a cotton ball in one hand and
rubbing alcohol in the other. "I'd suggest you take a deep
breath, it will sting." Her voicetone expressed genuine concern
and was reminescing of a long time friend caring for another. A
second later she pressed the humid cotton ball on the opened
wound. It was true she wasn't a medic but common sense would
have to do it. She didn't like to see him in such a vulnerable
state, not him. Anyone else than him, it was her best friend,
which somewhat strange to see passed the façade he would always
put up in front of everyone.
"now you will have to apply pressure to the wound to minimize
the bloodflow" She said taking out a rubber band out of the kit.
"please, explain to me what happened, I need a distraction from
all that blood."She emitted an uncomfortable chuckles and
wrapped the rubber band around Shadow's leg.

Rouge isn't lying when she said he isn't going to like whats
coming, little effort is required to make the ultimate life form
wince involuntary, the cotton ball soaked in alcohol barely
touched his leg and it felt like a million needles punctured his
temple, the only way he could describe this unbearable
sensation. Shadow watched a rubber band wrapped around his leg,
sending him a mental message to let him know it's going to hurt
for a while. He inhaled some oxygen and released it from his
mouth soon after, he is preparing to tell a story that can
compromise his friendship with Rouge forever.
"Its Amy.." he spoke somberly, hopeless eyes darted towards the
floor, unable to look at his companion in the eyes for now. "She
wanted me to train her, to improve her fighting capability to
defend herself against Scourge so that bastard wouldn't hurt her
again.." he paused before continuing his story, still staring at
the ground. "I wanted to test her survival instincts by
attacking her with a knife, I wanted to make sure she is capable
of handling someone trying to kill her, it was going well until
I got carried away. During the lesson I.....I stabbed Amy,
unintentionally triggered her psychological trauma, the last
thing i saw before she left is her tears..." Shadow's ears
drooped.
"Sonya saw what I did and avenged Amy, stabbing me in the leg, I
don't blame her for it" his eyes shifted to gaze at Rouge, a
rare showcase of Shadow lowering his emotional defenses towards
his long time companion. "I screwed up Rouge, I don't know what
to do, how do I fix this?" Amy probably hates him and most
likely doesn't want to see the ultimate life form ever again,
perhaps he could find solace knowing he has someone who is
willing to listen to his troubles.

When Shadow told her what happened, her heart stopped for a
millisecond and she clenched her teeth. She had never expected
him to something so cruel not even for a training session. It
was true that Shadow always appeared to be a little alien
compared to most Mobians to Rouge but he was her best friend,
right? And he was capable to stab someone...She felt an intense
feeling of dread crawling up her spine and it was quickly
followed by an immense feeling of disgust. For an instant, she
thought that he had it coming but it was just a bad judgement
call. After all, Shadow always seemed so different from most
Mobians and this she knew too well. Everyone makes mistakes and
this is why she didn't know raised her voice nor did she slapped
him like she had the urge to. Instead, she soaked another tampon
with rubbing alcohol and pressed it against the wound and
tightened the rubber band to make it even more uncomfortable.
''You big idiot, what made you think that stabbing her was a
good call?''She asked whispering angrily. She had none of that
and whatever excuse he could give wouldn't sit well with
her.''Leave the trauma healing for the professional now would
you? There is the therapist for this kind of trauma and doctors
for situations like yours.'' She glared at the knife in his leg
and she exhaled. It's not like Sonya would be of any help at the
moment, she was the one who stabbed him after all. ''But
apparently it's the doctor who stabbed you so I highly doubt
that she will be willing to fix you up.''She paused and pulled
Shadow against her chest like a mother would hold her crying
child. To say that I am angry at you would be an understatement,
I am furious. But I care about you, you big idiot.'' She smiled
down at the ultimate lifeform and her him in her arms to keep
him distracted and to help him relax. Rouge wasn't the most
affectionate person to most Mobian but Shadow was her best
friend and that's why she used her embrace as an excuse to reach
her hand for the knife handle. ''Not gonna lie, it's gonna hurt
you more than me.'' She gave him a few second to breath and be
mentally prepared for what would come next.

The ultimate lifeform winced again as Rouge applied some more
rubbing alcohol, he could've sworn he felt more pressure on the
wound unlike before, if Rouge is upset with him after he shared
his side of the story he wouldn't blame her. "I-I don't know!"
Shadow began to stutter and panic. "Amy summoned a powerful
weapon, I....I-I was caught in the moment I-" Shadow is having
some trouble explaining his position, Rouge took action to give
him a hug to comfort him.
In response Shadow's muscles became stiff seconds before
release, somehow being within her arms took away all of his
stress, as if everything is going to be alright despite what
happened. Shadow's breathing slowed down to reasonable
levels...that is until Rouge warned him of incoming pain, being
ready to remove the object out of his leg. "Make it quick" he
turned away closing his eyes.

She held the ultimate lifeform with one arm and took a deep
breath. She wasn't ready to hurt him, but it would save his life
and they had no other choice at the moment. She held on tight on
Shadow before wrapping her hand on the knife's shaft and pulled
it in swift motion only to drop it in the bathtub. A loud
metallic noise could be heard as it bounced on the cold surface.
The blad was now lying in the bathtub, covered in blood and the
sight made Rouge flinch and released Shadow. She was horrified
to see the sheer amount of blood. Usually, during a mission, it
wouldn't affect her much but this was her best friend bleeding
in the bath. She covered her mouth and clenched her other hand
as shivers ran down her spine. Was he safe? She was no doctor
and did her best but again, with no actual medical background,
she could've made it worst. Her breath was now irregular, she
was still contemplating the bloody knife she had pulled out of
her friend's leg. ''A-are...''She took a deep breath and tried
to speak again.''Are you okay? I mean, can you hold on? because
if you are to pass out on me I will call the same darn doctor
that put you in this state and I'm gonna make sure she fixes
you...''

Internally Shadow commended Rouge for fulfilling his request,
indeed the procedure was over in a flash. The weapon no longer
sticks out like a sore thumb on a limb, now its resting in the
tub soaked in Shadow's body fluid. That doesn't mean the pain
will simmer down as quick as Rouge's reflexes,, in fact its
much...much..much worse than rubbing alcohol. "Aaaaarrrrgh!" a
shriek involuntary escaped Shadow's windpipe. Losing this much
blood raises concern for the ultimate lifeform, he cant afford
to lose conscious not before apologizing to the one who gave him
a second chance.
"No I'm not okay, give me another bandage to stop the blood
flow, hurry!" he put a hand over his wound to stall for time.

Rouge quickly retrieved the first aid kit and found the curved
needle to stitch up the wounded ultimate lifeform. ''Quit
whining! you've brought this upon yourself, remember?!''She
didn't appreciate to be yelled at. ''now hold tight because I'm
going to stitch you up then I'll apply the bandages. So you
better shut up until I'm done!''She was visibly mad and inserted
the curved needle into the ultimate lifeform's skin and began
sewing the skin to close the wound. The procedure wasn't made
by a professional but it looked liked it would hold up for now,
and shortly after Rouge would wrap it with fresh gauze and
bandages. ''Now don't move...or else you'll reopen your
wounds... She patted him on the head to show her genuine concern
and that despite all, he was still her best friend and this no
matter how rude or loud he could be.
