Fuzzy Blankets and Chocolate Therapy [Amy Rose,Sonya And Scourge

The living room of Amy Rose's house was nice and warm, a stark
contrast with the icy November wind rattling the window panes.
Winter was coming and the short days of sunlight followed suit.
There would be many who should be finding themselves enjoying a
cosy fire, wrapped in a blanket and drinking something hot.
This was the setting that Amy Rose was in. After the disaster at
the beach, Sonya had rushed her home and the pink hedgehog soon
found herself washed and out of the blood-stained clothes into
some comfy pajamas and currently in a blanket burrito on her
sofa, staring into the gas-lit fire in her fireplace as a cup of
soothing tea was reaching room temperature on the table in front
of her.
Soft music played on the tv's music channel, but she wasn't
hearing any of it. She just kept staring into the flames,
feeling more depressed and miserable than she had felt in a long
time. The only time she could remember feeling worse was when
those aliens had attacked Mobius and Sonic had risked his life
to stop the quantum dial and was presumed deceased for a year
before coming back from the dead. She had been barely able to
function during that horrible year.
Amy sat up, hard to do when in burrito form, and extracted an
arm from the blanket roll then reached for her teacup. She
drained the cup of its contents before placing it back down and
resuming her previous position on the couch.

Finishing up her cleaning duties in Amys cosy kitchenette area
and making sure that Amys blood stained beach clothes were now
taken care of in a vicious spin cycle in the washing machine the
fennec found herself padding quietly back into the living room
clad in pale blue cloud pyjamas of her own. From the minute they
had arrived home she’d been overly insistent on making sure that
her distraught friend was content and settled and while she
looked comfortable enough it saddened Sonya knowing that Amy was
far from fine. Concern edged across her soft features, Sonya
approached the pink ones side soundlessly, before pouring her a
fresh cup of her own tea creation. It was an unusual mixture to
say the least mint and elder flower more bitter than sweet it
wasn’t exactly a go to on Sonyas beverage list but these herbs
had more of a calming after effect, so Sonya hoped that they
were bringing Amy peace in that regard.
Tucking herself underneath the blankets beside her Sonya made a
snap decision that she was going to cheer up her friend it was
just a question of where to start. A light bulb of an idea
suddenly forming in her mind Sonya jumped up from the sofa,
spreading a quilt neatly out across the floor in front of them,
before she sat, and motioned for Amy to come and join her. “Now
i know the blanket burrito was my doing but it’s been an hour
your’re coming out of there I’m going to show you something that
I’m pretty sure will make you smile.”

Amy's face poked out at her dear friend and then she looked down
at the quilt in a deep frown, then covered her face again. This
refusal lasted for only 2 seconds before she started to do a
rather impressive impression of a worm coming out of an apple.
Once she was free, she more or less 'oozed' off the sofa until
she fell onto the quilt with a plop, landing on her belly. She
laid there for a moment, before making an effort to get into a
sitting position.
Achievement Unlocked! 'Escape the Couch Potato Patch'
The pink hedgehog pulled her knees to her chest and rested her
head on them as she looked at Sonya beside her. "What is it?"
She mumbled softly. The pink woman could use a smile or a laugh,
anything to get her out from under this dark cloud.

“Eyes closed but keep your mind wide open." Instructions
given the fennec waited until she was certain that Amys eyes
were shut, before she took a breath and focused. Fingertips
splaying outwards, in the moments that followed one of many
things began to happen in response to the fennecs magic.
Electric green radiating off of Sonya in controlled waves in
matter of minutes the whole room was surrounded by the familiar
soothing green aura Amy included. Turning of her palms skyward,
Sonyas now electric green orbs opened, sparking with unusual
means of power. Rising her fingertips all in snyc, Sonya watched
as the feathered pillow she'd placed in between them slowly
opened up causing a series of shimmering green features to rise
and slowly begin to floating around them."Open up..i've been
practising my levitation skills without force field use what do
you think?"

Amy raised her head and opened her eyes obediently then felt her
eyes widen in amazement. It was like a green winter wonderland
in her living room with the feathers floating in the air under
Sonya's magic. She reached up and touched one with her finger.
“So cool. This is amazing, Sonya.” she smiled softly at her
friend. “You're amazing.” she put an arm around her friend's
shoulders and gave her a side hug, placing her head on the fox's
shoulder. “I wish I could be as cool as you.” She said with a
tone of honesty and a bit of yearning.

Sonya was surprised and a little upset to hear her friend put
herself down so casually even in a mildly subtle sense. Letting
to few moments of peaceful silence pass, the fennec cosied up
close by her friends side resting her head gently atop of pink
ones own when she rested her head on her shoulder. The small
glowing feather shimmering a much more radiant green under Amys
touch Sonya choose her next words with care unsure how to
properly respond to the kindness that she still struggled to
feel worthy of. “Amy I ..” A series of far less
complimentary thoughts trying to force there way in Sonya
focused hard on ignoring the majority. After all this
wasn’t about her right now. “I really appreciate
that Amy but you don’t need to wish to be as cool as me
when your’re already the coolest person I know.”
Lifting her head from the top of Amys head, she turned to look
at the pink one fully a genuine smile creeping across her lips.
“Your’re going through a rough patch right now but
your’re going to get through it and I’m going to be
with you every step of the way got that? But with that being
said, you know it’s ok to not be ok right? I mean talking
about what happened today is probably the last thing you feel
like doing right now but I want you to know I’m here for
you...”

Amy said nothing for a moment as she listened to her friend's
advice. She didn't deny that she felt the need to always be the
strong one. After so many attacks and being kidnapped by the
next villain, she got tired of feeling helpless, so she
dedicated herself to being stronger for herself and for Sonic.
Amy started as his name popped back into her head and then
pushed it away. 'It's pointless to deny what was in the past.'
"I... just want to be the strongest one. Because... if you're
the strongest... then nothing can hurt you."
'Nothing, Miss Rose? Or No One?' A voice in her head poked at
her mind. She didn't ignore it but at the same time didn't voice
her inner thoughts only chose to enjoy her friend's support,
comfort and company. "Thank you for being here... and... there.
I... probably wouldn't be in the best of conditions if you
weren't there for me." She looked up at her and smiled. "You
know that I'm returning the favour forever, right? That's what
friends do. Be there for one another."

“Forever huh? your’re signing yourself for a life
time of well me are you sure you don’t want an out?”
Half joking the fennec rubbed the back of her head a little.
Again more than out of her depth with being complimented in such
a genuine way. Large fluffy ears flickering gently at her words
the blonde gave a small shrug as modest as ever. “Amy
while I acknowledge that I have managed to save your life on
multiple occasions now it wasn’t all me you know.. part of
the reason you keep clawing your way back time and time again is
because your’re strong willed, determined and no matter
how difficult things get you refuse to give up that’s one
of the things I like most about you.” Giving a dainty snap
of her fingertips the feathers floating around them came to a
light swirling spiral back down into there original resting
place inside the now opened cushion. The electric green aura
finally beginning to fade from around them Sonyas electric green
orbs soon shifted back to their usual sky blue and she felt the
pangs for an early headache approaching. She leaned in against
her friend for support her eye lids drooping down into a rather
taxed out half lidded stare."I.. think I over did the levitation
thing..”

The icy chill outside the cozy house was fitting as a monster
drenched in blood, surging with wild electrical energy was at
Miss Rose's doorstep. Scourge had been on a killing spree across
town starting with the rich nobles who believed themselves safe
in their ritzy mansions. He had various golden jewellery and
priceless heirlooms hanging from his neck taken from the victims
he'd brutally murdered; the tacky gold chains and amulets
matched well with his equally tacky jacket with the flame
decals. The green hedgehog's fingers twitched as he had a look
of madness about him; he'd been consumed by a blood lust that
had built up over the few days Sonya managed to contain his
powers with the control collar but no more. He was now free let
let Mobius feel his wrath and none more deserving than the pink
pain that almost ensured he bought the farm.
With blinding speeds the wooden door exploded into splinters
open as the vile villain broke in shooting towards his target.
His eyes lit up seeing the comfortable and very flammable
blanket Amy had wrapped herself in; tossing the cultured woman
over his shoulder in a single motion he walked towards the
flickering flames as they danced in the reflection of the lenses
of his glasses. He raised Amy up and held her face just before
the fire taunting her with that sharp toothed grin of his. "It's
gunna be a real pleasure to see that pretty face of yours melt
down to the bone. When I'm done, I think I'll use your skull as
a bottle opener; opening beer is about all bitches are good
for." He bellowed before he attempted to toss Amy into the
fire-pit entirely. At this point Sonya was a non-factor and
revenge on Amy Rose, the woman who almost sent him off to hell,
was all that mattered.

Her anxiety spiralling a lot of things happened at once from
Scourge suddenly booting down the front door in a merciless fit
of rage, to her friend being scooped up and on her way to being
hedgehog paste. There were so many conflicting emotions coursing
through her all at once but she knew she needed to act and fast.
Grabbing a poker from the corner of the fireplace she took
advantage of the fact that her partners concentration
didn’t happen to be all there. Purposely aiming to
immobilise and not hurt him if her blows connected right she
would manage to put strain on the joints in his arms, and that
would result in her pink furred friend hopefully being released
from his clutches. Her expression creased with irritation Sonya
was all to prepared to let her annoyance with the green hedgehog
because of his dismissive behaviour show. “I’m
sorry but I’m not going to sit by and let you fricassee
Amy I happen to like her being whole!” It seemed that
Scourge ignoring her had become an extremely unattractive habit
and yet Sonya still felt her legs weaken at the sight of him
tacky golden accessories and all. His arrival having been so
unexpected the fennec found herself taking a moment to quietly
loose herself in thought. [i] "Even when he's on a murderous
rampage he still looks so cute.. focus Sonya focus!'
