A New Woman in Town (Open)

This was the very first time that the female made her way into
the city after the events that had went on, and it wasn't
because she wanted to either. The particular female preferred
the the seclusion of where she lived or anything like a town and
smaller, the high buildings made her feel...dizzy. She sighed as
she kept walking through the city she lived so close to her
entire life that she could remember. The young woman heard about
the resistance and had always placed supplies where they could
get them, but never once went to join like she wanted, never
sure where to fit in. But now? But joining up and helping Sonic
would be the right thing to do. She had heard of his adventures
and battles, looking up to the male who was just a year older
than her and whom she had never met. But who ever said you had
to meet them to look up to them? Well, no matter. She was bound
to walk into someone that could lend a hand and some information
on how she could finally see other people besides just the small
talks she had with strangers on her travels. The woman kept her
right hand in her pocket, carefully walking around in the big
city as she kept an eye out for anyone.

The orange porcupine was walking down the street arms full of
groceries. His mind set on getting home and retreating to his
study. Though he normally would drive to the store. Due to
recent events he lost his truck. Well lost wasn't exactly the
right word. It was the story he was going with. He couldn't just
tell people he abandoned his truck in search of treasure. The
porcupine lost in thought was paying no attention to where he
was going. He bumped right into the purple hedgehog, causing him
to drop his bags. "Oh geeze, I'm sorry..." The orange one said
while picking up his groceries. As he gathered up his groceries
he noticed his soda had exploded in the bag. "I should have been
paying attention. Now I have to go get more food stuffs." The
porcupine says throwing one of his bags into a public trash
recepticle. As the porcupine tosses one bag the other bag's
bottom falls. The porcupine who was used to such bad luck just
chuckles and cleans up the other bag. "Well doesn't that just
figure. I have the worst of luck." While saying this a smile
beams on his face.

"Oh, crap, I'm so sorry!" The female responded when she ran into
the male and made him drop his stuff, bending down to help him
pick it all back up and throwing away the broken items. "I was
trying to pay attention for others and I run right into one, my
apologies. If I knew where I was going, this probably wouldn't
have happened." The purple hedgehog stood up and adjusted her
left bracelet. She looked around for a moment because bringing
her attention back to the male. "I'm not from the city, in fact,
this is my first time here."

The porcupine bows his head. "You don't have to apologize, it
really is my fault. I was paying no mind to my surroundings. It
is funny how when you're focused so much on something, and you
don't seem to see the people around you, isn't it?" The
porcupine says with a welcoming smile. Once finished picking up
the now ruined food; the porcupine reaches out his hand for a
hand shake. "Oh, a newcomer, huh? Welcome to Mobotropolis. The
heart of Mobius. The name is Reck. Where are you headed? " The
porcupine asks a smile still on his face. "I can try to help you
find it." The porcupine being a resident of Mobotropolis knew
his way around the town pretty well. There were some places in
the city he hadn't been though.

The female watched him bow and put her hands up to her chest
with open palms. "Oh no, please don't do that, no need for it.
Yeah, I was paying attention for others and yet I run right into
you, so clearly I wasn't doing a very good job at it." The
female looked down at his hand for a moment before firmly taking
it and formally greeting the new face. "My name is Viola, Viola
White. I've never been here before, but I have heard a little of
it. That's more my fault. I'm a country gal and love my space.
I actually came here because I thought I should, I don't live
entirely to far from here. Maybe meet some new faces and get
more items."

Reck let out a small chuckle. "Are you looking for any items in
particular?" This question coming to the porcupines head first.
Meeting people wasn't exactly his strong suit. "If you know what
kind of items you want, meeting people should follow in those
places." The porcupine thought it sounded like a good idea.
Different stores tend to have different shoppers. "I was once
new to the city like you are today. I was born in the forests at
the base of the volcano in marble hill. Went from there to the
mountain tops of Hill Top. Adjusting to the city is difficult,
but othet than the occasional person here to stop Sonic the
Hedgehog. It is a fine city." When Reck mentioned Sonic his
voice sounded a bit snarky, as if he didn't care for the
hedgehog.

Viola looked at him with a raised eyebrow from his chuckle,
listening to the words he was about meeting people while
shopping. "Well, yes, of course that's how that works. But those
are more passer-byers unless we actually stop to hold a
conversation. But, I suppose that if you're going to start any
where, that would be one of the ways." Viola's ear twitched when
she heard Sonic's name, letting out just a small laugh.
[color=purple]"Was that a little disdain I heard when mentioning
Sonic? I've heard of him, Mobian newspaper and such. Anyway, I
need some whiskey, new flasks, probably some needles, and some
metal. Think you can help me out?"

The porcupine shrugs. "I've never been a fan of the way he "took
care of things." Not to mention how self centered he is. I was
at a halloween party hosted by Rouge the Bat, he killed the
mood." Reck shakes his head. "This guy is supposed to be a role
model, but instead he uses his heroics for self gain." Reck
feeling like he rambled long enough. Decided to get back to the
first topic. "So you're looking for a liquor store. A trip to a
hardware store. Needles should be at any general store." The
porcupine doesn't have anything else going on so he decides to
help the hedgehog. "Yeah, I can help. I have the shop closed
today."

Viola listened to the male strangely. Not in disbelief of the
words coming from his mouth, but the fact that what he said was
the opposite of what the Mobius newspapers always said. But,
that wasn't unbelievable that the media would manipulate things,
it was a very common thing to do. Just never given a second
thought on it. Finally, she decided to speak up about the
conversation they were having about the famous Mobian Hero.
"Well, that certainly through me off guard, newspapers don't
give the details of their personal actions after all. So I guess
I'll have to meet him in person some time and see for myself. I
like to see how others are first hand, pure opinion instead of
basing off of other sources. But I will keep in mind what you
said. But, yes, some help would be nice. Mobotropolis is closer
but I always avoided it. But, maybe you can show me these stores
and the new people, it would be helpful. And thank you in
advance."

Reck shrugs. "Yeah, it shouldn't be a problem. The city is big,
but once you make a few visits you should know the place pretty
well." Reck leads Viola down the street down the way he had
originally came from. "We'll go to the general store first. Get
the easy one off the list." The porcupine lays his hands on the
back of his head as he walks. He walks at a good pace but not
really fast.
A few blocks down the street they come across the general store.
"This is the place." Reck says as he holds open the door for
Viola. He walks her down the aisles trying to figure out where
the needlesare on the shelves.
