"Why even come here then?" When James asked this the porcupine
became speechless. "Why did I come here?" Reck couldn't help to
wonder. He found the flyer for the opening at his shop. Then he
got prepared and came out. No one made him come. He had no
friends he knew were going. Sabine wasn't working. She might
have wanted him to go. Valentine certainly wouldn't show up
without reason. Then one word came to the porcupine's mind.
"Loneliness." Reck shrugs and finally speaks. "I guess I was
feeling lonely. I have few friends. I figured I should come try
to meet new people."
The porcupine chuckled even though when he admitted this his
stomach lurched. That bitter sweet feeling of admitting the
truth, and maybe a little help from the alcohol. The porcupine
saw an ashtray sitting on the table. Although it was clean. He
saw this as an opportunity to finally light his cigarette. He
raised his index finger to the tip of the cigarette and small
flame appeared above his finger tip. The flame disappeared and
the cigarette was burning. "So, have you known them long? A good
friend you must be to leave your comfort zone on invite." The
porcupine asks before taking a long puff.

Amy said nothing, Sonic's comment of her not being able to catch
a break and of Shadow 'being a bad date' didn't sit well with
her. She made sure to avert her eyes from the blue hedgehog as
she gently slipped her hand on the crook of Shadow's arm.
Nodding to the black hedgehog as silent permission to escort her
to the VIP room.
Once there, she tightened her grip on his arm slightly and said
to him. "I need to sit down." Her face felt hot and cold at the
same time along with the uncomfortable feeling of a sheen of
sweat cooling under her pink fur. As she sat on a chair, she
trembled and rubbed her arms. Part of her wondered why she could
not stop shaking, and the other part self-assured her that it
would stop momentarily. She just had a bad scare was all.
Amy supposed that she should feel bad that Sonic's fun night out
was getting off to a rough start because of her, however, she
didn't feel entirely in the wrong. She had done nothing wrong.
How was she supposed to know that seeing a resemblance of Him
would send her into a psychological attack?
"Thank you, Shadow." She said softly, comforted by his presence.

Looking at his green face in the mirror with Sonya staring
disapprovingly before giving him orders made Sonic feel like he
was a child being talked down to; that he could handle but what
Sonya said next caused Sonic to snap as his infamous short fuse
was just lit. He snapped shut the impact before poking his
finger into Sonya's chest. "First of all while you preformed the
surgery I got her there before she died of blood loss so don't
ever tell me I don't care about Amy. Second Ams is a founding
member of the Freedom Fighters; shes a real tough customer,
she's certainly not some delicate flower to fall apart at the
site of a costume. It's Halloween! On Halloween you dress up as
monsters! I have enough respect to know my comrades are a lot
stronger than most give them credit for."
It wasn't long before Sonic backed down ending the stand off as
he took a lighter tone and gave a somber smile. "You should
know, you're not one to take the easy way out and look at you
now standing here stronger than ever." Still annoyed The blue
hero crossed his arms the zippers on his leather jacket rattling
as he pouted while shaking his head at Rouge. "You want a piece
of me to? Cause I'd be happy to oblige."

His reaction was so predictable that it left the blonde at a
loss for words. However respectful his intentions were he wasn’t
exactly in the habit of displaying them in the correct way.
Fighting off the intense urge to break the finger that he jabbed
against her chest she remained silent long enough for him to
finish having his say. Blue orbs narrowing she mentally counted
to ten in an futile effort to calm herself down. And by the time
she did her voice was steady enough. "Do not put words in my
mouth I NEVER said you didn’t care about Amy, if you have
respect for your comrades and friends in the way you claim you
do then act like it! because your version of respect differs in
everyone elses eyes!” “Not appreciating how dismissively he’d
tried shut her down for making a valid point it was now Sonyas
turn to look visibly hacked off and his disrespectful attitude
towards Rouge wasn't helping his case.

Giving a deep glare the blue hero was finally ready to explode
oh how he wanted to hold the fact he saved her less than a few
months ago over her head but that wasn't the kind of hedgehog he
was. All Sonic had wanted was a fun Halloween night and to show
off his costume yet what he was met with was scorn, foul looks,
a lecture from his best friend and despair from his biggest fan;
both of whom he'd been the sole reason they were still alive.
When Sonya had the gaul to question if Sonic had any respect for
either of them he was furious his blood boiled at the fact she
acted liked the saving of a life wasn't the ultimate act of
compassion. Through gritted teeth he pushed up the cuff of his
glove and deleted everybody he knew in the club from the
contacts on his wrist-mounted communicator before letting his
cuff fall back into place. He wanted to shout and scream but
instead he just lowered his eyes to an annoyed gaze and left
like he was a gust of find blowing back Sonya's hair and the
ruffles on the dresses of girls he passed.

Rouge crossed her arms, this spectacle was not something to
enjoy. This was a pathetic display of anger and what what truly
irritated her the fact that he trashed the place, insulted her
and her friends and acted as if everyone was in the wrong and
him in the right as always. "Sonya..." She said hugging for an
instant before releasing the Fennec and pointed the door at her.
"He was your date, you even stood up for him while he trashed
the place and insulted me and my staff. You consciously chose to
stand up for a guy who uses the fact that he save people against
them and who seens to forget that if it was a selfless act he
wouldn't need to remind everyone. I want you out of my club, he
was your plus one. He's your charge now leave please." Rouge
carefully said everyone on a calm tone. Tonight was simply too
much and she had enough drama for one night.
The bat flew across the dancefloor and headed to the V.I.P. room
upstairs where she would meet with James again. She had lost her
cheerful expression for a more bleak one and landed on the couch
next to James without a word. Her hand was bleeding, she didn't
realized but she had broken her glass while asked Sonya to leave
the club. The disappointement was too much to bare.

Her personal anger at Sonic evaporating almost instantly upon
hearing Rouges reasonings for asking her to leave. She opened
her mouth to defend herself only to come up short. What exactly
could she say to try and defend Sonic this time? Rouge was right
tonight Sonic had proven himself to be little beyond selfish and
egotistical and look how that had ended up, with Amy distraught
Shadow furious, and her and him getting into a public screaming
match. Feeling the tears prick her eyes as Rouge gave her
fleeting hug, it was over all to soon. Calm as her words were,
they still cut like a knife. Trying to start after her, only to
have her way promptly blocked by a less than impressed looking
buffalo bouncer, the last thing Sonya saw of her friend was her
retreating to the V.I.P. lounge. "Rouge! Rouge! I’m sor-
HEY GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!” Forcefully grabbed by the
scuff, she was hauled out without even getting a chance to
apologise.

James looked up as Amy and Shadow entered the room. The former
of which seemed to be in a state of shock if her trembling was
anything to go by. At the very least she seemed to be comforted
by the presence of her partner and questioning her might not be
the best thing to do right now. If anything, he should probably
wait until she was steady. Shadow meanwhile seemed like he could
give a decent explanation.
As he was about to get up however, Rouge dropped into the couch
next to him. He cast a glance her way and saw the bat's bleaker
expression and her bloodied hand. That together with the two new
arrivals confirmed that everything wasn't right.
"What happened down there?" he asked her as he turned to look at
her, "i didn't get to go after you, but something had to happen
down there if one of the new arrivals is trembling and you
return in such a state. Mind if i ask what that was?"

"Sonic showed up to enjoy the party which on paper would sound
like a good thing. He was meant to be Sonya's date. I might have
not like this guy at first because of how many hearts he breaks
and his usually egotistical behaviour." She took a pause, she
didn't want to talk in anyone's back. Especially not Sonya and
even if she didn't outright hate Sonic before. Tonight he had
caused animosity even if he didn't mean to. "But tonight he
dressed as his evil counter part which caused trouble. For an
instant I thought he'd behave in a civil manner but instead
insulted my crew, trashed the floor by throwing his empty
bottles on the ground. So on top of acting like an immature
drunk frat-boy he disrespected me, Amy and used the fact that he
saved lives to boast his own ego." She still had not explained
why her hand was bleeding nor why Sonya wasn't back with them.
The bat felt betrayed by her best friend and although she did
not want to throw her under the bus because she still respected
her. She needed to talk about it. "When I tried to confront him,
Sonya took his defense everytime he did something wrong just to
try to justify his actions. No one insult me like this." a
moment later, a Buffalo came in the VIP room to whisper in his
boss hear. Rouge's face turn red and pointed the door at the
bouncer. "you're fired" She said to the now jobless male.

James listened intently and just nodded slowly as she explained
the situation. It frankly stung for him to listen to. It was the
exact thing he had promised to prevent.
"I understand, i am sorry i wasn't there," he apologized while
glancing at the others, "i promised to keep the peace and wasn't
present when it was needed. I will make it up to you one day, i
promise. I can't imagine what that must have been like."
She was then approached by one of the bouncer, only to fire him
on a whim. Even then James' expression barely changed.
With that settled there was one last issue for him to take care
off, "and what of the hand? Plan to get that checked out
yourself or should i call a medic for you?"
Despite the friendly gesture, it was mainly him doing his duty
as he deemed it fit. Even if Rouge was closer to him than most
other people she was still just a work partner.
