A familiar scent (Lukas and Valentine only)

It was morning, Valentine had just flipped her sign to ''open''
and went inside her store. All the flowers were still asleep
until she opened the blinds. She had just announced a sale to
attract customers. It was the perfect occasion to put on display
the Orchids she had imported from the old world and had cared
for until they would bloom. The Vixen set the tables outside and
placed the delicate flowers on it. Their delicate scent reminded
her of her home village, Lena in the eastern forests of the old
world. Her familiar was nowhere to be seen and the air was just
a little chilly, not too cool. But it wasn't too warm either.
The Vixen tied up her apron around her waist and a scarf in the
hair. The store was ready for the sale.

Lukas was again wandering through the city streets, having no
real destination in mind. Coming upon the market area of town he
noticed a quaint little flower shop. Flowers were by no means
something he normally cared for but upon catching a glimpse of
the Orchids on display he couldn't help but stop and take a look
inside.
Stepping inside the small shop and making his way to the
Orchid's display he found himself thinking of home and other
such nostalgic thoughts. "Sie sind wirklich wunderschön" He said
out loud as he carefully examined one of the small flowers
unaware that he had slipped into his native tongue while
thinking of home.

"they come from my homeland."She said with a heavy Slavic
accent. The young shopkeeper wasimpressed to find someone who
spoke in a language of the old world. She placed her hands on
her lap and bowed to the stranger. "Please, have a look around
and let me know if you need anything" She said to the tall wolf.

"Your homeland? Where are you from? Lukas asked the woman, this
time speaking in English, although with a thick German accent.
"My name is Lukas, and yours?" He asked as he bowed his head
slightly and reached out a hand to Valentine.

Valentine was surprised that her interlocutor spoke English.
Which was an interesting surprise. "I'm from the old world. To
the west there's a small village near what once was the capital
of Rus." She smiled to the stranger and reach out for his hand.
She though that maybe the male wanted a handshake? It wasn't
something she was used to but it seemed to be a social
convenance around.

Lukas shook Valentine's hand, bowing slightly as he did so. "I
am from Weissland, A powerful empire from the old world. I must
say it's refreshing to meet someone else from the old world.
Everyone from here seems so strange." Lukas said in a friendly
tone as he felt he could relate to this woman.

" I must agree, I never seen so much technologies in one place
until I came here." The vixen felt relieved that she wasn't the
only from the old world to feel awkward around the locals. "it's
strange how they all rely on these tiny...plastik...box? They
touch and talk to it all the time." Said Valentine who didn't
knowhow to use a cellphone nor what it was.

"The people around here seem so obsessed with such mundane
things, they barely notice what's right in front of them." Lukas
said with a chuckle. He couldn't help but be relieved that to
finally meet someone relatable in this strange city. "It's good
to finally meet someone sane in this place."
