       Extreme Gear Practice
   DIR By: Hachi
       Date: August 27, 2018, 6:41 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
The concept was simple: Competitors hopped on these hover
boards, did a couple laps around a race course, and winners took
home glorious prizes! Sure, the sport was pretty mundane in
comparison to most, but something about it sparked an immediate
thrill in Hachi when she overheard her father listening to it on
the Radio the other day. Tons of Mobians cheering in the
background over a photo-finish victory... where were these races
being held?! She absolutely HAD to see one live! Or-- even
better... why not try to join one?!
Without any hesitation, Hachi practically begged her father for
a board. Ken was more than weary-- these competitions were still
being held underground after all. With the war, and Eggman still
posing a threat, all those people being publicly known to be in
one spot... they were an easy target for the enemy. Heck, even
The Legality of their existence was still being questioned--
after all, no one had a clue who was hosting the races! For all
we know, they could be riddled with criminals and convicts.
After some convincing, however, her father finally caved and
helped her put together a board of her own, but refused to allow
her to compete in a race. To prevent her from doing so behind
his back, he made sure the board has... training wheels, so to
       speak.
"It won't be fast! This thing can only get up to 20 miles per
hour tops! Now you be careful when you're practicing that, young
       lady!"
Her father's worried words echoed in her mind as she made her
way to a seemingly quiet street. Although she already had some
practice in, Hachi hadn't ridden in the city yet, and wasn't
sure how confident she felt riding around where the crowds were.
On top of that, Hachi was pretty sure she'd never seen anyone
ride around on Extreme gear in Mobotropolis. Ever. Was it taboo
or something? Could it be illegal to ride within the city's
limits? Hachi shuttered at that last thought... the last thing
she wanted was to get in trouble!
With a deep breath, however, Hachi set down her board, and began
to put her hair up in a ponytail. After she tied her hair, she
switched on the board, and watched as it gently floated up,
hovering just above the ground. With a gleam in her eye, she
hopped on and-- woah! The board wobbled a bit as she tried to
correct her balance. Carefully, she tried to adjust her foot
when... SHOOOOOM! The board sped up too quickly! Hachi lost her
balance and almost immediately fell off her board and watched
hopelessly as it spun out and slammed into the side of a
building. Moving to her feet quickly, she scuttled over and
checked the board-- thankfully no damage.
"Dad did a good job building this thing..." Hachi sighed,
muttering to herself, "I just can't seem to get my balance
       right..."
Hachi brushed off her knees and looked around, hoping nobody saw
       her wipeout.
"I guess it's a good thing he gave me a board to practice on--
imagine if you went any faster than that." Hachi blushed as she
realized she was talking to her own board, but continued
mumbling to herself. "I'll enter one of those races one day!"
Hachi sighed, "Might as well have a different goal, since I
haven't been accepted as a Freedom Fighter yet..."

If Hachi thinks she can get away with extreme gear riding
through town without anyone watching her flew smack dab into the
side of a building, she thought wrong. A muscular canine mobian
was on his way back to the construction site to help repair the
damages from the war, until he spotted the daredevil riding a
hover board flying over his head. "Is that extreme gear? Haven't
seen one of those in a long time? isn't that illegal?" he
murmured, following the female wolf to the location of where she
       landed.
Getting a closer view, he realized this girl is isn't quite
dissimilar to a wolf species mobian but one thing stuck out in
particular, she has mechanical limbs, is she a cyborg? Only one
way to find out. "You okay? Don't you know its dangerous to ride
those things in the public streets?" he kept his guard up in
case this stranger is hostile, you never know what kind of
       people he will encounter.

Hachi felt a quick chill run down her spine when she heard a
voice behind her. She quickly turned around with a faint blush
on her face— how embarrassing!!! Someone saw her wipeout! Hachi
gently tucked her board under one of her arms and glanced away,
trying to advert her gaze from the Mobian.
“Uh- Yeah,” Hachi scratched the back of her head with her free
arm, “I’m fine.” In a huff she brushed back her hair and glanced
at the Mobian. Noticing the defined muscles on his body made her
grip her board a little tighter— he seemed really intimidating.
Hachi’s ears folded back... Something about his tone made her
feel like she was in trouble.
“I— I think I’m fine, riding around on an empty street y’know.”
Hachi began to walk out of the alley, attempting to walk past
him without making eye contact. Maybe with her luck, he’d let
her slide by without another word? She could probably find a
street to practice on somewhere else...

Ty more or less stepped in front of the girl to block her path,
he couldn't just let her leave, not without an introduction, she
broke the law after all, granted he doesn't work for the law
enforcement or anything, but why would he let it stop him from
busting troublemakers? Emerald eyes sharpen their daggers,
eyebrows furrowed until one can see a visible split in between
the eyebrows, its clear he doesn't plan on continuing let her
ride this hover board at her leisure "Don't you know riding this
equipment is against the law?" he calmly stated with a hint of
       cold stern.
       "Whats your name?" he asked.

Hachi flinched, stepping backwards and making direct eye contact
with the man. She could feel heat rush to her face as she began
to blush— not only was she being scolded, but she was being
scolded by a surprisingly attractive Mobian!
But... Illegal? Hachi’s grip on her board tightened. It couldn’t
be illegal completely! Why?! Since when?! Extreme gear was so
much fun— why would it be completely against the law? Sure,
those races she tuned into technically were... for safety
reasons... but it being completely illegal broke Hachi’s heart.
Her ears folded back again, and her brow furrowed as she noticed
something... he had no reason to be pestering her about this. If
he was a cop, he’d be in uniform! He had no place to be
questioning her... and if he wanted to, he’d have to show his
       badge or something first.
With a sigh, she slightly glared at him and spoke:
“If it’s illegal, like you say it is, I wasn’t aware.” Hachi
huffed, “Also, I’m afraid I don’t give my name away to strange
men who approach me in a dead alleyway.” She once more attempted
to step around him, her movement becoming more of a hustle.
       “If you’ll excuse me-“

Sage had been making the, perhaps extremely damaging,
mistake of paying little attention to their surroundings. They
had already deemed the area empty, at least at the time, and
wasn’t going to start spending more energy just being on edge
over nothing. Thus, they hadn’t spotted Hachi’s wipeout.
However, they did hear the faint sounds of other people nearby.
They turned the corner, finding a muscular wolf blocking a,
wolf(?) woman who was clutching some sort of board from leaving.
They weren’t exactly sure if this situation was warranted, or if
unwanted trouble was occurring, so regardless they voiced their
presence. “Um, hello? Is everything, okay over here?” Their
voice was steady, although their body was a bit tense. They
ultimately figured they could find enough loose rock to toss as,
at the very least, a distraction, if anyone turned hostile, and
they could probably provide assistance if someone was in trouble
with the other for shady reasons... Probably. They decided to
not pay attention to that, instead focusing on the two in the
alley, doing their best to avoid staring at the robotic joints
of the woman. It wasn’t the weirdest thing they’ve seen but it
did stand out compared to the buff, but ultimately normal
looking, canine that stood by her.

Ty didn't try to block her path a second time, she has a point,
in her perspective he is a random stranger harassing a citizen
riding on a piece of hardware, how would she know he isn't just
making the whole thing up, why does she need to give away her
identity? the cyromacner placed hands in pockets, glancing at
the girl in question. "Allow me to explain, there are official
legal tournaments out there for extreme gear races, so it isn't
illegal per say, you just cant ride those things into the city
with a lot of traffic, the same reason why you don't see people
racing cars out here because its against the law" He hoped his
explanation would put the girl at ease.
"We are in the middle of repairing the city after the war, its
best you get out of here quickly before the cops find you" he
wished her safe travels, though he couldn't help but look at her
mechanical arms and legs. He is about to question about their
origin until the sound of nearby footsteps flickered his ears,
did he spoke too soon? His muscles relaxed when spotting another
mobain not in uniform, are they a concerned citizen too?
"Everything is fine" he eyed the feline calmly.
