Blaze caught Shadow's heel once more with her cybernetic arm as
if she were expecting it. Her burning eyes stared into his as
her smile grew to show off those fangs. Her fist clenched as she
was about to counter attack when a thought came into her mind.
It was a realization of something beautiful.
Something...Devious...Something...Wicked...Something...Possible.
"...I see you're still alive." The Empress uttered, her eyes
sparking with an intense excitement as she stared upon the
Hedgehog. She casually lowered his foot to the ground, so he'd
stand beside her rather than be forced to be held in such an
awkward condition.
"Perhaps, you are actually worthy of your life. Very well, if
you could survive that you and your little friend are worthy of
my attention." The Empress practically purred as she slowly
crossed her arms. "And so, our skirmish is over and you have won
an audience with the ruler of the Sol Empire. Though I need not
express how lofty such an accomplishment is, after all you seem
quite familiar with me." The vain empress purred in her throat
as she slowly extended her hands to her sides. Please, do tell
me of how you supposedly know me. Have stories of my conquest
really been so grandiose that they have breached the barriers of
space and time." The Empress casually questioned the hedgehog,
despite the fact that they were standing in an ashen crater that
used to be a forest path.

Veira dusted what little dirt was left off her face as the
fighting seemed to be over with for now. They had managed to
survive the fire and now they were being asked questions. Or at
least Shadow was. " little friend?....Someone's got a pretty big
ego.." she murmured to herself as her body still had the after
effects of lightning sparking from her body. To be honest she
didn't know Blaze at all. She simply stood and crossed her arms
waiting on Shadow to explain. If he planned on explaining that
is.

"!!" Shadow half expected her reflexes allowing her to
intercept his surprise attack, at this point the Empress has
proven to him speed is nothing but child's play. The onyx
hedgehog turned his head away shutting his eyes, preparing to
receive a nasty blow, until his adrenaline subsided as nothing
happened. He is parked next to this crazy woman as if they are
having a conversation. In a bizarre twist she wanted to know how
this hedgehog became acquainted with her counterpart. He dusted
himself of any remaining sood, if Shadow is going to answer her
question, he must choose his words wisely, this could be
disastrous if she isn't satisfied.
"Not really" he began his tale, "one day I was transported to
another world called the Sol Dimension, there I met your
counterpart Blaze the Cat, a princess who is a guardian of the
sol emeralds and a hero to her people, she helped me return home
after being stranded in that dimension, our paths don't cross
very often since that day," He recalled his battle against Metal
Sonic trying to aid his blue rival in the war against Scourge.

The Sol Emeralds. Empress knew them quite well. They were both
the source of her greatest accomplishments and the catalyst for
her greatest regrets. The fact that there could be not seven but
FOURTEEN of those magic gems around filled the Hellfire Goddess
with a sense of endless possibility. Her smile grew, and while
at first it seemed sinister it seemed to grow more and more
nostalgic as the hedgehog went on to describe what her home used
to be like. Before that day. Still, the cat let out what almost
seemed like a bitter chuckle as the hedgehog finished his tale.
"Princess eh? She sounds like she has a bit of growing left to
do." The cat slowly turned to look at her mechanical arm with a
distant expression. "...Perhaps she'll end up succeeding where
as I have faltered." That mechanical fist squeezed shut as she
once again readjusted her tattered shoulder cape to conceal it.
The purple cat then leaned back to look upon the two warriors
with a hint of disdain as she was seemingly evaluating them.
"I must honestly thank you for providing the excitement I so
desperately hungered for though. You two both impressed me." A
cruel smirk steadily grew as she bowed. "Perhaps I could
interest you in joining my army? I could certainly benefit
having some strong people with knowledge of this world to help
me set up a foothold here."

Veira crossed her arms as she listened to Shadow tell his
involvement with this other Blaze the cat. Clearly not as wild
and crazy as the one before them. This other Blaze sounded like
a certain echidna Veira recalled leading the resistance awhile
back. She rubbed her chin in thought before realizing Shadow was
done speaking.
This time empress spoke as if somewhat belittling her other
self, as she stared at her metal hand and closed it tightly. She
must have had a rough past to end up this way. This time, Veira
had a distant look to her face not sure how to go about an
answer.
Before she could speak, empress spoke up. She praised the two
heroes for the spar. And then she offered an invitation to her
army. For some reason Veira was curious about this so called
army. She knew Shadow would probably turn her down due to his
obligations as a agent of G.U.N. But she wasn't tied to the
law.....she was a bounty hunter.
" And what would you do with said knowledge.?" she asked.

Shadow observed his adversary's body language, and the
implications of her response. it would appear this version of
Blaze may have some regrets being lead astray on this dark path.
If given the opportunity he would've pry into her backstory
wishing to know the circumstances behind her lifestyle, alas
time is short. "I'm afraid I'll have to decline, I work for a
government agency and they sent me here to handle important
matters, until we meet again...farewell" he teleported out of
the scene in a flash of blue light, reappearing elsewhere in the
country to continue his search for the doctor.

The Empress gave an almost bored look at Shadow's response but
instead turned her attention to Veira. She considered the wolf's
words for a brief moment, but eventually formed a small little
smirk on her lips. Her eyes seemed to flicker with anticipation
as she parted her lips to speak.
"...I need to find my foothold in this land of yours." She
practically purred, her voice dripped with a growing excitement
as she held out an open palm to the wolf, almost as if she were
extending a helping hand. "If I am to burn away all the ills of
this world, I'll need help." She clenched that fist and let it
ignite with a furious blaze.
"That's why I came here after all...To find strong hearts in
order to help me cleanse this wretched place. While I do find
nothing more exhilarating than a glorious battle I promise my
intentions have been pure! I came to your world with a mission
in mind. I wish to free it from evil and under my absolute rule
no shred of wickedness shall remain! I am the almighty beacon of
light that all darkness fears!" The empress declared, her aura
steadily growing back to life as her eyes widened and ignited
with a fearsome glow.
"So it's not a matter of if you'll join me, but when. For if you
stand against me you're no better than filth I intend to
expunge. This world is wounded and I'll be the one to cauterize
it!"

As soon as Shadow left the two girls alone, Veira sighed while
rubbing her head. She expected as much from the agent. But now
she was alone with the fire princess herself. Just being around
her triggered something in the huntress. What was it though?
Hatred, excitement, pride? Did they share a common goal or was
she just saying things Veira wanted to hear? The more she
listened and watched the feline, the more she became interested.
The last statement sparked Veira in a way to which she felt
uneasy. The way empress sounded made it certain she would join
no matter what and if she was against her then she would face
being killed. A small smirk appeared as she crossed her arms.
" You know that's quite the threat there princess...many have
tried killing me so that statement is a bit played out for
me..." she paused a moment as she unfolded her arms. " But if
what you said is true then by all means. " she did a small bowed
to the empress.
" I Veira the wolf am at your services...your highness. " she
replied looking back up to the empress.
