Digital Country Dash

G.U.N has been keeping a low profile ever since the war has
ended a month ago, dedicated to the task of finding Eggman's
location to make him sand trial for his crimes, if Shadow and
Rouge aren't doing field work as active agents, one would think
the organization became nonexistent. The research team spent
countless hours on their computers, refined poker faces never
leaving the screen, constant clicking of their keyboards, they
all work like machines on a mission. When was the last time any
of these guys received any fresh air and sunlight? the world may
never know.
Commander Tower is present to chaperone their progress, the
stern man walking back and forth, observing every staff member
to make sure they are doing their jobs. he stopped to examine
two subordinates who are working just like everyone else,
perhaps he detected their screen holds information different
from the others? "Any Luck?" wondering if they discovered
anything.
One of the staff members shook her head, "No Sir, we found a
lead to Eggman's location, however every time we try to decrypt
this signal, it will stop the process and leave other signals
across the map" to demonstrate she used the decryption program
on the a file with the Mad Doctor's signature logo. On the
screen, foreign numbers and letters gradually being translated
into readable text, suddenly the program halted abruptly, the
worldwide map popped up, showing small Eggman logos around the
map in specific locations.
Tower placed a finger on his chin "I've always hated that
brilliant mind of his, where did this file come from?" he often
wished the mad scientist would put his talents to good use, he
would've been a great asset to G.U.N if he isn't focused on
turning everyone into machines, reality is a b.itch. "We
received information from a anonymous tip, we don't know their
motives nor did they speak with us when they sent this file, we
can try to trace it back to its original source" the other one
reassuring the commander.
"Do it"
The pair cleared away the logos on the map, they right clicked
the file to open a command prompt page, they entered a command
that says "TraceToSender" to start the process, a window with a
big loading bar, showing the program is in effect. the map is
displayed again on screen, zoomed on a single location,
specifically a blinking dot, "they are in Chun-nun" one of them
concluded "Chun-nun of all places?, what are they doing there,?"
he puzzled, scratching his head.
"To keep a low profile, Chun-nun is a peaceful country, no one
there mind your presence or acknowledge you exist as long as you
stay out of trouble, whoever sent that file knew what they are
doing, iit makes sense to do it from that location, I will send
agents down there to investigate, keep up the good work" the
commander left the research team to continue their work, they
couldn't dig any secrets out of that file, yet all that had to
do is take a step backwards to forward their progress, Soon
Eggman will pay for everything he has done.
Shadow is in the training room having the spar of his life, from
outside people can hear flesh pounding against metal, powerful
blows trading among the combatants, eventually the loud noise
ceased, all that reminds is the sound of someone panting. The
ultimate lifeform is struggling to catch his breath, enduring
that painful workout, "!?"he watched his opponent shake and shut
down in pieces. Heaving breathing and sweat getting more
pronounced every time the black hedgehog glares at the broken
simulation robot "Worthles, piece of junk!" he spat.
He can feel his body prepared to unleash his power after
suppressing it for a month, getting rid of those rings is the
best decision he made in his life. Still he isn't given an
opportunity to test his strength because the training dummy fell
apart alter giving Shadow a decent run for his money, the staff
really need to upgrade this thing. He grabbed a towel wiping his
face, he took a sip of water and exited the training room
leaving the towel on his shoulders.
Commander Tower shortly walked through the halls spotted the
agent he is looking for "Shadow, do you have a moment? I need
you to come see me in my office" he walked passed him gesturing
him to follow. Shadow hesitated for a few seconds before
following suit, is he in trouble? If so couldn't they just
replace the robot with a new one? Its not like the organization
is short on resources. The pair entered the office, nothing in
the room stuck out as anything special, it resembled a typical
workplace, placed on the walls are medals, certificates,
pictures of his accomplishments and a photo of his family.
Abraham parked his bottom on a big chair in front of his desk,
across from the furniture is two more chairs, his subordinate
parked in one off the seats, the gaze of both men reflected off
each other, their emotional mask of professionalism are
identical. Being in this office sent a chill in Shadow's quills,
it reminded him of the first time he entered this room, being
told to either use his talents for the benefit of the army or to
spend his lonely days in a cell. He doubt he will get used to
this room anytime soon.
"I want to discuss something with you" Tower began
"Sir If its about the simulation droid, I can get it replaced
asap" he replied.
"At ease Shadow, that's not why you're in my office, I brought
you here because we may have a lead on Eggman's location" he
revealed, placing his hands on the desk, curled his fingers
around each other.
"The research team found a lead? About time, I was beginning to
think shutting down the rest of his facilities is going nowhere"
he folded his arms, getting intrigued by this discovery.
"We received a file from a anonymous source containing
classified information about the evil scientist, we couldn't
breach its firewall yet, however we traced the signal back to
the source who sent the file, they are located in Chun-nun, I
need you to go down there and investigate, report anything you
can find back to me"
Shadow nodded standing up from his chair. "Understood"
"I'm going to contact the country's prime minister to let them
know you are coming, I've also left a map on your device, it
should lead you to the right location by a rough estimate, if
not you will have to do some searching on your own, go to the
hanger to use one of our airships" he ordered, aware of Shadow's
chaos energy suppression training.
Shadow once again nodded "Yes sir" he began to walk out of the
room.
"One more thing Shadow, if things get tough down there, you can
call agent Rouge for backup, we don't know what we're dealing
with" he finalized as he watched his subordinate exit his office
while he prepared the phone call.
The black hedgehog zoomed towards the hangar bay, once there he
hopped aboard the ship, wrapped his hands around the control
sticks, he pressed a few buttons on the control panel to turn it
on, he drove the ship across the landing road, he pulled the
levels up and took off in the air towards his mission objective.
He arrived in Chu-nun landing outside of the village, Shadow
turned off the vehicle, approached the gate showing his badge.
"I'm here on official G.U.N business" the guards nodded to let
him in, they knew he was coming due to Abraham calling ahead of
time. Onlookers didn't seem to mind the dark hedgehog wondering
through town, some of them do give him looks of curiosity,
probably wondering if they had seen him before. Shadow looked
into his wrist communication device to pull up a digital map,
there he saw the signal flashing on a specific spot in the
country. He activated his shoes to speed towards the general
area of where the signal is coming from.

HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!

As Shadow raced onward through the countryside he'd hear a faint
snap somewhere at his side. In an instant: the horizon would be
replaced with a explosion of broiling heat and fire. A swirling
pillar of red hot flames would cut off his path and reach high
into the skyline. "Where are you going in such a hurry?" A
feminine voice whispered through the flames as a figure began to
walk through it. The shadow of a tall woman stared at the
hedgehog before it moved to part the burning fire like a
curtain. "You know...I'm quite new to this little world of
yours. I've been looking for a bit of fun you see, and you seem
just my type." The voice continued as the Ultimate Lifeform
would be greeted to the sight of the Hellfire Goddess herself:
Blaze the Cat.
The fiery feline was garbed in what looked to be like it was
some ornate naval attire from the purple coat to the dramatic
half cape she wore to hide one of her arms. She smirked and
tilted her head slightly back to show off her fangs. "You know,
looking at you...You remind me of someone I promised to crush
beneath my heel." Her tone turned almost bitter as she mentioned
said person but she kept that dark smirk all the same.
"Would you be a doll and help an Empress get all fired up? You
look to be a strong sort and I could use a little entertainment
after traveling here!" The feline purred out a sadistic giggle
as she slipped into what Shadow might recognize as a Tae Kwon Do
stance. Her smirk turned into a wild grin as she awaited his
response. She didn't seem to care that he had a mission to go to
nor did she seem to be affiliated with Eggman. It was clear that
this mysterious feline was just looking for a fight!

Shadow kept moving in a single direction on the road,
occasionally he checked his map making sure the signal is still
present, no one is around to hinder his progress, every citizen
tending to their own affairs, if there is trouble its probably
minor mischief, not enough to warrant any attention, so far so
good.
There is that old saying "spoke too soon" a mission involving
Eggman will never be smooth sailing, out of nowhere an explosion
of fire reign over the beautiful horizon, now it resembles the
rise of arrmageddon. A pillar of flames forced Shadow to halt
his speed, a woman stepped out of the inferno who looks and
sound very much like Blaze the Cat, only older and sinister
looking. He didn't expect this turn of events to happen today,
its no surprise he has dealt with his fair share of duplicates
in the past. "I know who you are, but you're not the one I'm
associated with" he folded his arms not easily intimidated.
He watched Blaze's nefarious twin prepare a battle stance
looking to pick a fight, sensing she wont let him walk away, he
prepared a battle pose of his own, a basic stance unlike her
version. "Blaze or not I'm running behind schedule, I'll finish
this quickly" he braced himself. In truth he wanted to avoid
being in confrontation until his body is ready to unleash his
powers again.

"Has my reputation preceded me?" The Empress grinned, those
fire-like eyes burning with a sadistic glee as the black
hedgehog seemed to recognize her. "I suppose it doesn't matter
anyway, you already know who I am yet you haven't begged for
mercy. You're either very stupid, or very confident that you can
win. Either way, I'm going to enjoy breaking you!" The cat
laughed out with a maniacal cackle as she let her body ignite in
a fiery storm of burning energy. Shadow would be able to see her
silhouette through the flames as she continued to to laugh. The
temperature began to increase around them as the flames around
her grew hotter and hotter before the cat shifted her stance.
"BLOODY AXEL!"
She called out as she suddenly shot toward the dark hedgehog.
Using the flames to propel her: Blaze spun toward Shadow with
her feet kicking out like a pinwheel. Her body was still coated
with that super heated flame as she left a trail of red
afterimages behind her. Unless Shadow dodged or blocked he'd be
struck by a blitz of burning kicks from the Empress.

"!!" Sweat glands revealed themselves in response to the rise in
temperature, body fluids dripped down from the skull as Shadow
girt his teeth, they almost never touch the ground due to this
excessive amount of heat. Shadow wondered if being within five
feet from her power would be enough to kill him, its frightening
to know there is a version of Blaze possessing a killer
instinct. The ebony hedgehog watched his opponent closely, he
deduced she is quite acrobatic judging by her cartwheel maneuver
barraging towards him. He has to think of something fast before
he is granted another reason why his body fur is black in color.
Using his gift of super speed he evaded by flashing a fair
distance over to the left, the naked eye wouldn't be able to see
his iconic yellow orange speed trail with the exception of those
who have a trained eye, Shadow leaped into the air spinning into
a black and red ball, he attempted to plow into Blaze using a
Homing Attack.

"You're quite fast! I have yet to meet someone that could exceed
my speed!" The Empress complimented the hedgehog honestly as she
met his homing attack with an explosive flaming knee, the
resulting clash created a bright flash that rippled throughout
the skyline. A crazed grin stretched across the Empress' muzzle
as waves of fire and raw force radiated between them. The impact
of their struggle both scorched and cracked the ground as the
two unstoppable forces collided violently. The lilac cat exhaled
a plume of steam as she broke away with a backward flip only to
effortlessly return to her stance as soon as her heels hit the
ground. She flipped back her wild ponytail casually as if she
were already waiting to go another round with the hedgehog.
"You seem to recognize me but I don't think I have the pleasure
of knowing your name." She smirked, her eyes burning with a
fiery determination as she began to swirl bolts of flame into
her hand. curiously enough, Shadow might notice that she was
only using the hand that hadn't been hidden underneath that cape
draped over her shoulder.
"Hellfire Claw!"
She screamed out, swiping that hand dramatically as she released
the charged flame, sending it toward Shadow in a vibrant wave.

Alongside the chaos stood a wolf mobian covered by a hood. She
had been standing there for sometime now as she watched the
fight between the black hedgehog and purple cat. A slight brow
raised at the fight brought the wolf's interest to a all new
high as she watched Shadow specifically. She noticed he wasn't
wearing his bracelets and from the look of things he had
resorted to using Sonic's signature moves. While he was in her
opinion a copy of Sonic, she knew he had more power than what
was currently being displayed.
As for the cat in army like clothing.....that one was a mystery
in itself as she seemed a bit off. Was she one of Eggman's
geneerals? or rather some whole new threat altogether? The cat's
flames were so intense that the air around her felt humid and
dry. Lucky them nobody else was present. A normal mobian would
have collasped at this point. However Veira wasn't normal....far
from it really.
"How odd..." she began as she had her hand on the hilt of her
sword as her tail swayed. Watching the two fight excited her a
bit. She wanted a go with the flame princess. With a simply
smirk she vanished in a blink of an eye and appeared in front of
shadow with her sword drawn and cut through the wave of fire
before looking at the two.
" Sorry for butting in but you two look like you're having fun.
Is this a private party or can anyone join? " she asked as she
stared at Blaze. Her hood covering a good portion of her face
but that smirk never left her face as she twirled her sword.

A powerful shock wave emitted from the two combatants, the
overwhelming force of power pushed Shadow a fair distance away
from his opponent, he back flipped to break his momentum,
landing safely on the surface. Shadow didn't know what to think,
too stunned to formulate any words, besides Sonic no one has
ever moved fast enough to block his spin attack. He wonder if
the Blaze he knew has always been this fast or this version is
more refined and experienced, unrestrained even. The latter may
be true, she didn't hesitate to fling a vicious flame towards
the black hedgehog, It seems she is toying with him due to her
usage of a single arm to attack.
"I'm Shadow" he introduced himself brushing away those thoughts
for now, adrenaline flowing through veins, deciding to either
speed out of the way or counterattack with another spin attack,
it was now or never. Turns out he didn't have to do anything, an
unfamiliar stranger appeared in front of him cutting the fire
with a sword, he didn't remember calling for backup so soon, did
she watch the fight the whole time, how long has she been here?
"I have it under control" he revved into a spin dash, launching
toward Blaze attempting to show her the meaning of pain.

"He says he has it under control but I think I heard a tremble
in his voice!" The tyrant hissed, her amber eyes narrowing to
slits as she looked to the uninvited guest. "I have no qualms
with breaking both of you, if anything this will be just the
sort of warm up I need!" She extended her hand, as she purred
out a mad cackle. "BUT DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU GET CAUGHT IN MY
HELLFIR-GUAH!" The cat let out a choke as Shadow's spindash rung
true. The Empress spat as her eyes shook from the shock of the
impact before she was sent skidding back. Her heels dug into the
soil as the spiny ball of hedgehog forced it's way into her
chest.
"BASTARD!" The cat cried out, losing her footing just as the
impact reached it's apex of force. She lifted into the air and
bounced off the hedgehog before being sent flying back and
through a tree that was unluckily in her path.
"I guess you are stronger than most, Hehehe...It's been a long
while since I've actually had to try! I'll make you beg for
mercy. Shadow." The tyrant snarled as she pushed herself to a
stand. "Perhaps I ought to take this a bit more seriously then."
She refastened her collar and pushed her long ponytail back as
she started to walk toward the two. One of her eyes began to
burn with an ominous glow as she exerted her pressure. The
countless years of war and death sharpened her posture to a
point that she looked unfathomably dangerous just from how she
casually approached the two. Yet even still, it was evident that
she was still keeping something in reserve.
Like a predator cornering it's prey: she walked with a sadistic
and hateful grin.|
"Burn."
The Empress simply ordered as her form suddenly vanished.
The cat suddenly appeared in front of the Hedgehog, an
explosion announcing her presence as she intentionally threw a
kick that would miss it's mark. A feint. She appeared in front
of the swordswoman in another explosion and swiped at her with a
claw, again missing. In fact, this continued in a dizzying
display of feints and explosions before she suddenly appeared
where she started with her back turned. A faint smile could be
barely seen as she looked back and snapped her fingers. When
suddenly, every flame from every explosion left from her
teleports was drawn together into a great ball of fire. She
snapped again as the great flame ruptured and exploded to send a
shower of firebolts down upon the two!

Veira scoffed at Shadow's response. Typical hedgehog like
response. Why did they always think they could do things on
their own? It mae her think to a strange show she recalled Blaze
watching a lot in the office. Something with monkeys who got
stronger while fighting and were prideful to a annoying level.
The huntress sighed as she simply shrugged before shaking her
head as Shadow managed to land his mark on the flame princess
while she was boasting about herself. " Seems someone needs to
pay attention more..." she began as she crossed her arms.
Watching the cat fly made Veira chuckle.
However that all stopped as Blaze got back on her feet before
muttering one word. In a instant, Shadow and Veira were
surrounded be a fury of fake hits and explosions. At first Veira
was confused a bit puzzled to say the least. Then she caught the
cat's smirk as she snapped her fingers and formed a giant sphere
of fire before turning it into a shower of flame.
Gritting her teeth as she gripped her sword, Veira began to
twirl the sword over her doing her best to try and reduce some
damage before warping in a flash of light right in front of
Blaze with her hands charged with lightning as she gave a smirk
of her own.
" Neat trick princess...here let me return the favor." she said
as she swung upward hoping to connect with the cat's chin due to
their current position. If successful, she had a fury of punches
aimed for the empress tenfold.
