Re: An Outrider
By: Hachi Date: September 27, 2018, 4:45 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Not far from the two strangers, Hachi had been wandering in the
woods with a backpack she had stuffed with things she’d gathered
in the woods. From some mushrooms for dinner, to a few random
odds and ends she found sticking out of the forest floor, her
bounty for the day seemed good! Looking around, she barely
recognized the area she was in, however. She rarely came out
this way, as not far from here was the same spot she became
robotized. The memory left a bad taste in her mouth, and she
adjusted the straps of her backpack before letting out a heavy
sigh.
“Suppose it’s time to head back...” She mumbled to herself, and
turned— if only to hear some strange, faint sound from a short
distance.
"I wouldn't call myself thirsty, but I wouldn't consider myself
the opposite either, if you're offering.”
From where she stood, she couldn’t make out what was being
said... but it definitely sounded like someone talking. Hachi’s
curiosity got the better of her, and she attempted to quietly
move closer to see where the voice was coming from. Although she
wasn’t stealthy by any means, she moved behind the trees, closer
and closer.
“From what you told me thus far, you guys have been isolating
yourselves for sometime and now they sent you out here...by
yourself mind you. Was that a wise decision?”
Hachi’s ears twitched as she finally came upon another wolf, and
a lynx. She kept herself behind a tree, trying to make out the
situation. The lynx appeared to be injured... Hachi’s ears
folded back as she hesitantly reached for her bag. She had some
bandages her dad always told her to carry— she could easily help
with first aid! But could she trust them...? Hachi shook her
head. Now wasn’t the time to worry about that. Someone was hurt,
and although she was far from a medic, she knew she could do
something to help.
With a sigh, she removed herself from behind the tree and
approached the two of them.
“Excuse me- do you two need help?”

"They didn't send me out here alone without considering their
options; I'm supposed to act as a scout, and if needed, a
temporary emissary. A group would have been noticed more easily,
and risked drawing attention from... Unwanted sources." Clearly
he was referring to the bandit clans, but possibly also
Robotnik, if he was still out there, watching the area and
planning another attack.
The lynx's ears twitched as the second wolf tried to get close
unnoticed; he certainly couldn't tell who or what it was, but it
put him on edge again as he reached under his coat and pulled
out a black knife, holding it by the tip of the blade in a
throwing position. It wasn't until he saw and heard the
partially robotizised wolf speak. "Vietinis? he murmured before
another spike of pain from his wound made him grimace and reach
for the pain, dropping the knife.

Blaze nodded thoughtfully to Ajax's explanation. It did make
sense..a lot of sense. If put in the same position, he probably
would be in the same boat as him. He too had heard faint steps
close by but unlike Ajax, he wasn't quite ready to draw his
weapon. When the wolf came into view, Blaze tilted his head a
bit surprised at the robot wolf.
" A robian? All the way out here? " he pondered to himself. She
then offered her aid to patch up Ajax. Looking to the lynx, he
knew he needed aid but it wasn't his call to make. " I'd like
the help but sadly its not my call miss. " he said as he
motioned his hands in Ajax's direction. " We just met so i'm not
sure i'm the guy to be asking for aid. What's a young lady like
yourself doing way out here anyways?" he asked the girl.

Re: An Outrider
By: Hachi Date: September 28, 2018, 7:38 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Hachi’s ears flicked at the word ‘robian’. It wasn’t a word she
was entirely fond of, although half robotized. She was still a
Mobian, after all, and hearing such a statement never failed to
bother her a little— accurate or not.
Her attention was quickly drawn away from this statement,
however, at the sound of the knife that fell from Ajax’s hand.
Noticing the amount of pain in his face, Hachi scuttled over at
a bit of a faster pace, and after setting her bag down, sat on a
tree stump that was next to them.
”I’m Hachi,” She began, quickly rummaging through her bag,
trying to dig for her medical supplies. Grabbing her bandages,
she continued. ”I live about a mile or two south east of here,
closer to the outskirts of Mobotropolis.” She glances up at the
Lynx’s wound... it looked rough. Pulling her attention away, she
looked at the wolf, and with a hint of concern in her voice, she
continued.
”I think I have some Aloe Vera ointment in here, but sadly I
think that’s all I have.” She continued digging in her bag,
opening up a few inner pockets looking for it. ”If you don’t
mind me asking— what exactly are the two of you doing way out
here?”
Finally after finding a small bottle, she pulled it out and drew
her attention to the Lynx. ”Are you alright applying it
yourself? Or would you like some assistance? Taking mind that
the wolf next to them specified it was, in the end, up to the
Lynx to take the offer for help, but Hachi wasn’t exactly
planning on taking ‘no thanks’ as an answer. That wound looked
deep— and it was clear he needed professional medical attention
as soon as possible. She wasn’t even sure if the Aloe would
work, but she had to do something soon. Sonya would be much more
help than her in this department.

"'Partially-roboticized' isn't the same as robian, mate," the
lynx corrected Blaze as he took a breath. "Still a traumatic
experience, I would imagine; watch the wording..." He quietly
took his knife and put it back in it's sheath under his coat,
holding his side gently. "To answer your question, miss Hachi,
I'm a scout from up far up north; a member of one of the clans
their tracked me and wounded me before I shot him... The wound
is painful, but not serious...
He noticed her reach into her bag for supplies and chuckled
lightly. "I-I appreciate the offer; aloe vera won't help, but
willow would be good. Good on you to be prepared, though."

Blaze rubbed his head a bit ashamed for the simple mistake he
made right away. Between the girl's expression and Ajax's quick
action to correct him alerted him that he had goofed. " Err
right...sorry about that. From a distance i thought you
were....meh forget it. I should really learn to watch what i say
around folks. To answer your question though, i'm a bounty
hunter. " Blaze replied with a small shrug.
" I go where the bounty takes me so to speak. " he added. He
noticed Hachi moving rather quickly to Ajax's aid and chuckled
lightly. " You've got yourself a fan buddy." Blaze chuckled. He
then turned to Hachi. " Names Blaze by the way. " he added.

---------------------------------------------------------
Hachi scratched the back of her head, managing to crack a gentle
smile. It wasn’t often she met someone who recognized what it
was like to be robotized. Not wanting to focus on it much
longer, she shook her head.
”It’s no problem, really. I appreciate the sentiment... thank
you both.” She smiled, taking a mental note of the Lynx’s
comments on Aloe Vera as she slid it back into her bag. ”I come
out here a lot just to forage for food and supplies... though I
tend to wander a little deep in the woods from time to time. I’m
glad I stumbled across you both.”
Hachi sat quietly for a moment before letting out a sigh. In the
end, there wasn’t really anything outside of helping the both of
them get to the city so the Lynx could get proper medical help.
The wound may have been cauterized, but leaving it like that
couldn’t be good. She knew Sonya would be more than capable to
help him, if he was willing. Not to mention if he had been
attacked, the attackers could be close behind... she had to be
prepared in case of an attack.
”It’s nice to meet you Blaze. And you as well, Sir.” She said,
nodding politely in the direction of the Lynx. She recognized
the Lynx didn’t share his name, so she decided not to press for
it. ”I do try to be prepared when I come out here... I’m sorry I
don’t have what you need, though.” Her ears folded back a bit as
she scratched the back of her head, looking nervously at the
wound. Looking up at the Lynx, and then to Blaze, she spoke up
again.
”We should definitely try to keep moving to get back to the
city... This area tends to be dangerous... and if those Raiders
are still out there, it’s best to keep moving.” Hachi glanced
over to Ajax, a concerned expression on her face. ”Whether you
think it’s serious or not, you definitely need to get it looked
at... I can at least help take you to the hospital.” She glanced
over at Blaze, as if asking him with a single stare if he would
help.

He smiled a bit as Hachi went to their side, showing concern for
him. "It's not as urgent as you would think,
the wound is superficial and didn't puncture any organs; a
little higher amd maybe that'd be an issue. Wound is cauterized
by gunpowder, which went in at least an inch, and antiseptic has
been applied already; dagger would have needed to be poisoned to
actually do anything." Thr lynx smirked and winked, to
reassure Hachi that he would be just fine, the pain turning to a
dull throb for the time being now that his mind had something
else to focus on. "Just helps to have something
to fight the pain, is all; willow bark and leaves can be used
for tea to numb it, is why I asked. A-And please, don't call me
sir; my name is Ajax, and I prefer not to be treated like a
officer; haven't wanted to be 'sir' to anyone just for being a
medic, heh. Gerai?" He extended a hand to shake,
seeming to be in improving condition.

Blaze gave a nod to Hachi's respond. He was cuious why she
didn't just get her food and supplies from the city? Then again
glances over her body a few times reminded him why she may have
a problem in that department. She did show great concern for
Ajax's well being. One would almost call it a sense of duty. She
even glanced back to Blaze as she spoke wondering if he would
help. He was gonna respond but didn't quite know what to say.
But Ajax was pretty much saying he was fine and offered his hand
as a means to friendship. The young hunter just place his hands
behind his head and waited. " If you think it isn't that bad i
won't stop you but if you end up feeling weak let me know. " he
replied to ajax.
