An Outrider

In calm temperate forests and broken crags, far to the north the
self-proclaimed capital of the world that was called
Mobotropolis, there were others that lived beyond its influence.
Some were peaceful, or unaware of the greater happenings that
had occurred southward. Others knew well of them, and saw it as
a reason to act; some sought safety, and some sought control.
The quiet of the forested crags was then suddenly cut by a
sudden gunshot ringing through the air, akin to a small cannon
being fired. At the source, two figures; one dead on the ground,
bearing a primitive armor fashioned from scrap sheet metal with
a large bullet hole through it at the heart, and the other
sitting only feet away with a rifle in one hand, and the other
clenched tightly around the end of a jagged blade thrust into
his side, blood staining his clothes as he grit his teeth.
“D-Damn raiders...” the lynx mumbled to himself, taking the
moment to breathe and assess his situation, as painful as it
was. “I figured heading dead-south would be the safe option...
S-So much for that...”

You would think people didn't travel this far out of the main
city just for some R&R or just to get away from all the noise of
the busy city. Well one such hunter did just that as he sat
under a tree resting after traveling for quite a bit. He had
fallen asleep after sitting for so long that he had forgotten
the time of day. However the sound of a nearby gunshot made the
hunter jump up instantly with his sword drawn and on edge from
the sudden wake up call. It was pretty close by and the birds
flying overhead were a indication where he should head.
After putting his sword away he made his way towards the source.
A few minutes after looking around, he stopped midway as he saw
a mobian laid out on the ground dead while another stood near
the body holding his side. Had he been injured? Further
observation showed that this lynx was possibly the one who fired
the shot that woke him up.
Being cautious, he slowly approached by addressing the lynx. "
Hey everything all right? I heard shooting and came to
investigate. " he said as he approached with his hands up
signalling he wasn't trying to start a fight.

Almost immediately the lynx had already grabbed his rifle again,
aiming it at the approaching hedgewolf. "Sustabdyti!" he yelled
to make sure he was heard, eyeing the new contact up, before the
pain got back to him. "Plėšikas?..
[color=lightblue]R-Raider?.." he asked with shaky breathe before
he saw that the hedgewolf's hands were up pre-emptively. "No...
C-Can't be..." He lowered the rifle once more, clearly on edge
because of the attack.

Blaze froze when the lynx raised his rifle and spoke in a
language he never heard before.He waited a moment as the lynx
lowered his rifle before approaching again slowly with his arms
still raised. He wasn't looking for a fight and this lynx could
barely stand with the wound he had. He needed medical
attention....and fast.
" That language you spoke a moment ago....that was native. I
take it you're not a citizen of Mobotropolis. I'm Blaze. You
look like you could use a patch up. " he replied trying to be
friendly.

"I h-have my own methods for that; internal bleeding won't be
severe, the knife isn't serrated or bent... [I]Jie yra per daug
kvaili... Laimei...[/i]" The lynx set the rifle down again and
began searching through his shirt's inner pockets, pulling out
various odds and ends that he had as medical supplies. "I just
need to disinfect amd cauterize the wound..." He grabbed one of
his items, a thick piece of leather, and put it between his
teeth before grabbing the handle of the blade and pulling it
out, looking ready to scream in pain. There wasn't much blood,
but enough to show that there was a clear wound.
"[Color=lightblue]Y-You said... Mobotropolis, yes?
Self-proclaimed capital of Mobius?"[/color]

Blaze winced as he watched the lynx pull out the knife. While
the blood wasn't much, the wound was a bit bad. But he looked
like he was doing okay for the most part. He then nodded to the
lynx's question. " Yup capital of mobius and home to the acorn
kingdom. I take it you're a traveler of sorts friend?" he asked
lowering his hands but remaining a good distance choosing it
best not to approach until it was okay to do so. He looked over
at the raiders body a bit. Ever since the war finished, the
world was left in chaos. The resistance was already stretched
thin due to the rebuilding of mobotropolis as well as other
surrounding cities. This lynx must be from one of those
surrounding cities.
" You looking for someone there?" he asked.

The lynx shook his head as ue searched through his supplies.
"Ne... No one in particular... I come from far up north; scout
the lands and find possible allies... The Dominion is eager to
fight and protect Mobius from that man called 'Robotnik' or any
like him..." He carefully applied an antiseptic to his wound and
set aside what bandaging he had; he was more focused on the
gunpowder he had, normally for his ammunition, that he soon was
sprinkling onto the incision. The pain was obvious from his
grunting, but soon enough he pulled out a lighter and lit the
powder, screaming a bit as it burst into flames and smoke for a
short moment before cauterizing the wound. "D-Don't try that at
home; o-only emergencies..." Soon he had wrapped the little
bandaging he had around himself to cover it, gritting his teeth;
painful, but effective.

" Well that's good others are willing to put up the fight. Even
though nobody has seen him in quite some time, his robots still
roam the neighboring lands. I wouldn't be surprised if some
roots have reached up north. " he replied as he watched the lynx
apply the following touches to his wound. " I take it you're
part of the dominion?" Blaze asked.
He glanced about a bit wondering if the two were really alone.

He nodded as he finished bandaging himself, standing up slowly
as he took hold of his rifle. "We had been preparing forces to
assist in the "resistance" here, but it seems our Harbinger's
insistence in being prepared for the conflict made us miss out
on most of the war; the raider gangs that formed when news of
his tyranny reached us didn't help..." He looked around for a
moment, even looking through his scope at a few spots to be sure
they were alone for the time being. "We should move; this rifle
can be heard from several klicks away, and where there's one
there's more. No need to get caught and put in a real
ker-fuckle..."

" Hmm there's nothing wrong with be cautious and well prepared.
With someone like Eggman, nobody can be too lax with him. You
see what the war did to most of mobius. " he replied before
nodding to Ajax's response. " Sounds like a logical idea....any
idea where we should head to avoid any trouble?" he asked.
