Arriving at the clinic later he'd settle the unconscious thug,
"Oof..." he muttered upon setting them down and took a stretch,
swinging his arms back and forth, after carrying the massive
thug. Afterward, he'd greet the doe for her kind gesture in
letting them settle in the clinic temporarily. it was small but
felt so warm and comforting, as if she was ready to help. Taking
a glance he would, however, notice the "Free of charge" terms
for her service. "Wow--how were you able to keep this open
within a month?" he would ask curiously, unlike most Clinic's
that had a little payment for expenses such as employees,
electricity, equipment etc. However, this was quite different it
wasn't until he heard her mention "war".
It felt silent the hedgehog stared into the deep space, war
flashback memories were surging back. The look on his face
showed what he had gone through was not good. He was about to
ask her but felt like it was insensitive for him...upon noticing
Maria's speech pattern since back. His lips opened up but he
shut them as soon as he could knowing it might trigger the poor
gal, instead of resorting to another thing to say instead "Do
you have any other helping hands around here?" he would ask as
an added question to the first rather than just blurting out war
memories.

[i] The sudden shift of uncomfortable vibe settling over the
room, once the war was brought back did not go unnoticed by the
usually optimistic feline. Her ears folding flat against her
head being the only visible sign of her discomfort, she sunk her
teeth anxiously into her lower lip, as memories of her own
participation in the war come flooding back, fiercely depressing
ones at that. Only snapping out of her own miniature haze when
she heard her new cyan friend ask if Maria had any other people
to help out around her clinic, Felicity took to wandering
curiously around, call her rude for making assumptions.. but
from the general surroundings this place looked pretty
singularly inhabited to her. No double amount of coffee mugs, no
other desks in the room, heck if there were others working at
this clinic they must of took personal belongings home with
them. Then again that was her trying to balance things out
kindly for Marias sake.
Felicity was again saddened by the realization that Maria was
probably all alone here, and more likely than not struggling to
get by. Pausing, the kitten rummaged around in her backpack,
before finding her purse and hoisting out £30 pounds then and
there to discreetly slip into the does donation box, when she
thought that the other two were occupied with the current
conversation. Sure she’d given Maria the last of her monthly
wage, [she worked part time hours as an ok ish waitress] but she
needed the money more than she did, and they grey furred cat
hoped that the sudden extra cash would make her life a little
easier, if only for a short period.
Adding onto what the hedgehog said, she tried to lighten the
mood.
"Assuming you do have the help here, they're lucky.. this place
has a really homely touch."

Maria sighed and looked down, not noticing what Felicity had
been doing with her money. She too had many bad memories from
the war, things she was suppressing and would keep hiding away.
"You'll be surprised what you can do if you dedicate yourself to
your vision with everything you have," Maria sighed as she
gestured at a collapsible bed she had deployed and prepared for
the night, "but no, this is a one person operation. I work
alone, i live here and i rely on donations from those who think
i deserve it and my personal savings. I will do anything to keep
it running. It's my last gambit."
She then opened the door to the examination room and gestured
Felicity in, "come now, we'll have this over in a moment. Also,
is there anyone i can call to come and pick you up? Any guardian
or the like? They shouldn't be left in the dark."
Soul's compliment caused her to blush again as she seemed to
debate how to respond to it, she ended up going for the same
response as before, "i- i am so glad you both like it here. It
seems to be a common sentiment from the few other patients i
have. But yes... it- it is kinda homely... after all, it- it's
my home. Now, let's get down to work."
Maria took Felicity under her arms and lifted her onto the
examination bed. Then she got some of her basic equipment.
"Now, do you have any kind of pains that has remained since we
left the alleyway?" she asked her calmly as she put on her medic
facade, "be honest with me, please. Something around your throat
and stomach?"

Despite the negative mood a while ago, there was still a little
good that came out of it though. He was impressed at Maria's
dedication in keeping the clinic up and running, and that how
such a small ambition would eventually rebuild what they lost.
He eventually would want to contribute as such, reaching out a
few bills in his pockets he slid them inside the donation box,
hoping such a few would ease the burned that the doe has.
Leaving the feline to the doc's hand's he'd just sit by the
corner as she did her examination while doing so he did keep an
eye on the two unconscious thugs.

[i]Obediently wandering into her friends examination room, the
grey furred cat took another curious glance round, her tail
still swishing. Her posture again stiffening slightly, at the
mention of if there would be any guardians that would be able to
pick her up, the feline composed herself much more quickly this
time round. Again resorting to her go to habit to calm her
nerves, fiddling with one of her golden bracelets, she allowed
herself a few moments to think. “Oh .. there’s no guardian, you
see both my parents were only children so I don’t really have
any extended family.. but don’t worry I should be fine .. I ..
guess..” Purposely putting on a show for how an actual child
with no parents in this situation would react, Felicity hoped
that this would be convincing enough for Maria to offer to put
her up temporarily in her time of need.
The feline had decided, if she was going to help this fragile
doe she was going to need to stick around for a while. Releasing
a tiny meow, as the doe placed her onto the examination bed, she
watched her ready her equipment. Her expression slightly
uncertain, in truth nothing was really that wrong.. she was
probably suffering from internal bruising, but she’d let Maria
conclude that. “My stomach and throat do still kind of hurt
Maria..”

Maria saw Soul gave her money and tried to hide the reaction.
The fact that he was so willing to help her was getting to her,
she hadn't done much to warrant it. They handled the crooks and
she just stood there with a loaded gun and couldn't act. But
right now she had a patient and focused on that, "thank you so
much for your donation Soul. It means much more than you might
think."
Felicity's response gave her a good idea of what to look for,
but her response about her family was even more soul-crushing
than she had dreaded.
"Th- then what about your grandparents?" she asked as she
inspected her neck and stomach, "do- don't they have the ability
to care for you or are- are they dead as well?"
After a bit she came to her conclusion and stood up, forcing her
emotions back to remain calm, "well, you're lucky. No major
injuries outside of some bruising. You'll have to lay low and
not strain yourself while it gets better. One moment, i got
something for the neck."
She quickly left and returned with some ice in a towel. She then
carefully applied it to her neck, "there, i know it might freeze
a lot and be annoying along with a bit painful... but do keep it
there, it'll help a lot. I promise you that. This only leaves
the whole housing thing... where should you stay?"
