Sass and Shenanigans! [Open Thread.]

[i]Her and her big fat mouth, although it was her hardly her
fault this time! If not for her these two meat heads would of
actually succeeded in their scum ish display of theft, and it
would have weighed heavily on her conscience if she’d just
strolled on by or worse witness what was happening and simply
stood idle. Sure things seemed really bad for her now, she was
sprinting through the almost deserted streets of mobius with two
bulky six foot men on her tail, and judging from the occasional
flicker of her ear, seemed to be covering the distance faster
than she anticipated.. she did have shorter legs. “Oh bloody
hell!" grumbling this compliant instantly under her breath, the
feline took a sharp and sudden turn, into the nearest alley
their shouts now beginning to ring through her ears with
alarming clarity. “There she goes!” “Ha ha not so smart now are
you love?! There’s nothing but dead end down here!”
Teeth sinking anxiously into her lower lip, Felicity shrugged
off her backpack, launching it over sliver the wired net fence
at the end of the alley way without much trouble, before she
made an admittedly slightly clumsier attempt to follow suit,
only to have a large hand snake out to snag the back of her
dress roughly mid leap. A distressed eep forcing its way past
her lips, the feline fought off the in the moment panic that
threatened to overwhelm her, and instead her defense mechanism
attitude took center stage. “I’m only going to say this once ..
so listen carefully, kay? ..put me down, or I’m going to make
you both regret that you got cocky.” As expected, it took the
thugs all but a moment before they both erupted into laughter.
“You?! harm us? Yeah right .. oh god that’s gold sweetheart..”
Her small ears lowering a fraction on either side, the grey
furred aspiring hero sighed.“OK.. but for the record I did warn
you guys." Not bothering to grant them the luxury of further
explanation, she mentally braced herself for the impact, before
she slammed her head backwards, making direct contact with her
captors nose with an effective sounding CRUNCH sound, luckily
her enhanced durability covered most of her backlash even if she
did feel a little woozy with her rather abrupt landing, but oh
on the other hand .. not so much. The second that guys screams
started, her ears were folding over to block the sound out.
Jeez.. they really should have listened. “You little b*tch!
You’re going to pay for that you hear?!” Watching the second
guy snap, scald, and really put on the suffocating amount of
masculine display now it was apparent that she was actually a
potential threat, it was funny. Backing away from her second
assailant, the tiny cat raised her hands in a mock surrender
gesture. “Listen, i don’t want to hurt you, but I will.”

Maria took a deep breath and locked the clinic for the day. She
would come back and rest in her apartment above it, but right
now she needed to get out and stretch her feet for a bit. The
cool air was just what she need to get her mind taken off the
stress of her day. Even if she saw minimum traffic and only
treated those less fortunate that knew she did it for free. No
matter, she had to stop thinking about her work, a little stroll
in the park was all she'd need and then she could head back to
rest.
Her nightly stroll wouldn't be so silent though as she passed
down along the road. She wasn't afraid of the dark, it was when
she was off-duty and could relax. But she couldn't deny she was
nervous at what could hide around the corners.
That was when someone screamed and started to throw profanity
around, which made Maria jump on the spot and pull out her
pistol as a reflex as she turned around 360 degrees to check her
surrounding. It didn't seem like it was someone coming for her,
but who had done it then? It was likely a drunk couple... none
of her business. None of her business at all.
Even then, the shock didn't allow her to holster her weapon as
she continued down the road and tried to ignore the voices as
they got louder. However, as she got close to an alleyway, she
figured out the voices came from there and she couldn't help
herself and sneaked a peek around the the corner.
She instantly wished she hadn't as she saw a large bear, who was
on the ground and clutching his snout, and an ox who was moving
against a little cat. Even though they both scared her senseless
as she looked up at them, she couldn't just stand there and let
the child get crushed. Even if she was a coward, she couldn't
stand down as she came around the corner and raised her pistol.
"H- halt, stop right there!" she stammered as she tried to
steady her voice and aim, "stay- stay away from the child! If
you don't i- i- i will not he- hesitate to fire!"

[i]That split-second was all the feisty feline needed to make
sure the tide turned in her favour. Not wasting her opportunity,
she waited until her mugger briefly shifted his attention to the
handy new arrival an unexpected arrival at that. ‘Huh .. of all
people to have a gun I wouldn’t of pictured this chick with
one.. focus Felicity focus!’ Her next move may have been a cheap
shot, but with the now aggravated grizzly beginning to gather
himself back onto his feet, despite his impromptu nose job the
faint warning voice in the back of her head was reminding her
that sticking around long enough for both of these chumps to
recover wouldn’t be wise. So it was with all this in mind, that
she slammed her knee hard into the oxs trouser snake area,
ignoring the stream of vulgar commentary that soon followed.
Bless this stranger, Felicity hadn’t even looked at the doe
properly and yet from the glimpse she had gotten of her so far,
she knew enough to know that willingly putting herself in danger
like this wouldn't have been an easy decision, and it would of
without a doubt been easier to keep walking by and pretend that
she hadn’t heard the commotion but she’d come back to try and
help anyway. There was no way she was going to let anything bad
happen to this innocent female now. Shoving the now howling Ox
aside, the cat called to the fragile looking doe.“I appreciate
the back up really! but i’m good stash the gun away and RUN!”
Doing just that, the feline made a second attempt to get in the
clear, only to feel the sudden the vice like hold of the bear
wrap around her waist, what was it with thugs and manhandling
her today?! His hold increasing around her stomach by the
second, the bears snarled demands were all to clear. “DROP THE
GUN, OR I SUFFOCATE THIS WRETCH TO AN EARLY GRAVE YOU HEAR ME
LEGS, WEAPON ON THE GROUND NOW OR DO YOU WANT TO WATCH HER
WITHER AND SQUIRM IN HER LAST MOMENTS?!” Teeth gritting,
Felicitys entire frame stiffened, the more pressure continued to
be applied. “D-Don’t .. do it! GET OUT.. o-of here!”

Maria stood there and watched as the little girl fought back,
using the little moment her arrival had caused to get ahead. She
was certainly confident in how carried herself. However, Maria
soon found that she had caused more trouble than before as the
girl now was in a literal bear-hug, only it wasn't a friendly
one.
She stood there with her weapon raised still, trying to figure
out what to do. The cat was small... she could perhaps... but
the reaction could be fatal for her. Even then the cat tried to
convince her to get out of there. She didn't know how much Maria
would like to oblige her, however, she still couldn't just pull
herself away from this. She was one of the few out at night and
if she turned around who knew what would happen?
She concluded she had three choices. Two of them relied on how
confident she was in her aim... which wasn't much to be
perfectly honest. The third one was to just comply and hope for
the best. The other two involved her shooting booth crooks in
the knees or using her stim-pistol to shoot something to sedate
them. But then again... no, that wouldn't work, she couldn't
reload the hypo and it'd take time before the effect kicked in.
She only had one real option.
"D- drop her n- now," she tried to order back even though she
lowered her sights ever so slightly, "or i- i'll make sure
you'll both be im- impaired for the r- rest of your- your
lives."

Taking a stroll around town at nice would be nice but what could
be better than viewing the scenery from a high place, that was
what the cyan hedgehog "Soul" was thinking as he stood on a
nearby balcony. Not far from his gaze he saw Maria, making her
way towards an alley which made the hedgehog quite curious and a
bit worried for the stranger, not knowing what might happen. If
he took the stairs it might be too late to follow the doe, so he
booked it and jumped down the patio. Thrusting his arms down
below he used his powers to blast his flames and propel him back
upwards to the next building's rooftop. Using his flames for
boosting he jumped from rooftop to rooftop as he made his way to
Maria's direction.
By the time he reached the building nearby, profound language
caught his attention down below. Looking from a top view he
could see the stranger confronting two other assailants with one
hostage in hand, this smelled trouble as the scene looked tense.
He took a deep breath trying to come up with a plan to save
those victims at the same time minimizing damage in the urban
area. The cyan hedgehog would drop from the building delivering
a drop heel kick on the bear's noggin in an attempt to disorient
him from holding the feline hostage. "Oh these legs heard you
alright" he scoffed as he made his attack. Following his gaze,
on the second assailant he wanted to finish this off quickly so
he could get the two out of here, and so he made his attack and
slid forward attempting to deliver upward elbow strike at the
chin attempting to knock him back.

[i]“What the f-“
The grizzly didn’t manage to get much further because of the
cyan coloured males effective drop kick to his cranium.
Thankfully managing to land back on her feet without much
trouble, the tiny cat had whirled herself round, just in time to
see their attacker go down as easily as a pin in a bowling
alley, and a display like that prompted a wide grin on her end.
“Serves him right, thanks dude!” Tonight seemed to be picking up
for the better, placing her fingers in her mouth, the feline let
loose a supportive whistle while she watched the new comer doing
his thing from a reasonably safe distance. Whoever this hedgehog
was he had serious moves!
A snap, snarl, and a crunch later and that was the second mugger
steadily out of commission, for the time being anyway. Clearly
he hadn’t been expecting the hedgehog fella to actually be able
to hold his own, and so when he delivered that elbow strike to
the chin, it sure hit home hard, that and she probably broke his
nose prior.. so the satisfaction she enjoyed from watching this
second egghead drop cold was intensely refreshing. Briefly
turning her attention away from their cyan furred savior her
mismatched colored orbs looked towards her other hero of the
evening, her dainty features flickering with genuine concern for
the brave doe. Her hand resting gently on the other females arm,
her next words carried nothing but warmth for her. “Thanks to
you to Miss, if you hadn’t of come along when you did I would
have really been in trouble! I’m really sorry I got you mixed up
in this at all.”

Maria was left in shock as Soul came in from above and delivered
swift and physical justice to the two crooks, leaving the girl
with a window to get free and watch as he went to town on them
even more. Maria let out a deep sigh of relief, she hadn't had
to actually use her weapon, which was good because she didn't
consider herself a good shot anyway.
As she slowly lowered her weapon and applied the safety before
holstering it, she saw the girl come over and put her hand on
her arm as she thanked her for coming to her aid.
"Y- you're welcome, for what it's worth... the hedgehog saved
you. H- he is more deserving of your gra- gratitude," she
muttered and lowered herself to take a closer look at her, "are
you okay? Does it hurt anywhere?"
She also cast a look to the crooks. They both got a beat-down
and she was still abiding by her oath to help however she could.
But the girl took priority.

"Well that takes care of that..." the cyan hedgehog said rubbing
off the dust in his hands and clothing as the two hostages were
down for the count. Turning his attention back to the two
victims he approached them gently "Are you gals alright? Nothing
serious or anything..." he'd asked about their current condition
after what they had witnessed. Reassuring the hostages were
alright was the first step. Shortly after that he took a glance
at the two thugs as their actions did not go unnoticed, perhaps
it was best to call for the authorities for them to settle this
and an ambulance while they're at it too "We'd better report
this to the police...and probably call a nearby medic--" he
paused for a while looking at the alleyway for something to
restrain these thugs momentarily. "--Maybe there's some rope
here nearby we could use...or something to restrain them while
waiting."

[i] The does concern for her well being touching.
The feline did her best to deliver her most reassuring smile her
way, when she knelt herself down to her eye level. “I’m doing
fine I mean my stomach kind of hurts, but then that thug did
just try and squeeze out my bodily organs so.. “ A small shrug
later, her ears twitched, picking up on the females negative
reaction to her involvement, which the optimistic feline easily
brushed off, in favor of shaking her head and setting her
straight. “While that may be true, that doesn't mean you deserve
any less credit.. you’re both EQUALLY deserving of my gratitude
lets leave it at that okay?”
Turning her attention towards the male hedgehog, she offered a
thumbs up, in response to his question. “We’re fine thanks! You
totally rocked!” Listening attentively to his action plan, the
feline tapped her chin thoughtfully, while she scanned her gaze
around the alleyway, from the looks of things they didn’t have
much to work with as far as restraints went.“Rope would be
useful .. especially as we don’t want these guys potentially
waking up and trying to start round two.”

"I- i would disagree with that. In terms of contributing, i did
much less. You two did the hard work. You two are the real
heroes," Maria sighed in response as she looked her over again,
"those crooks could've caused damage though. W- would you mind
if i performed a proper examination after i tend to the two?"
She then walked over to the crooks and knelt down next to them,
"the- the medic won't be... nessecary. I- i am fully qu-
qualified... even if i don't p- perform like it. I- i will make
sure they're s- stable and then i will check on you, dearie."
With that said, she started to perform some normal health check
on the bear and ox. She had done this before and as such so she
was a bit more confident in it at least. She still couldn't let
go the thought that the girl might be wounded still. The
squeezing could do internal damage after all.
"You really put the hurt on them," she told Soul after a bit, "i
am horrified and impressed in equal measures."
