Amy was panting a bit as she wiped some sweat from her brow. She
chuckled a bit at Shadow's boasting. "Heh hehe. Not all of us
are ultimate lifeforms. Whew, oh man, that was scary." She
giggled, placing a hand on her chest. Her heart was sure racing.
Her eyes glanced at the chaos emerald when the black hedgehog
asked her what her plans for it were, and she walked towards
him, gesturing to her backpack. "Well, I plan on taking this
little blue idol back to the museum, take a few photos of the
new area, type up a report on the happenings, and call it a
day."
"As for that," She touched the emerald in his hand. "Well, I
was thinking you should keep it. Think of it as a souvenir for
your first archeological mission. Besides, it might come in
handy later on, plus it needs to be kept safe, and I can't think
of safer hands." she used her other hand to close his fingers
around the legendary jewel, and smiled at him. It was a few
seconds that she realized that she was holding his hands and as
casually as she could, pulled her hands away and busied herself
with getting out her camera and started taking pictures of
anything in the room that struck her fancy.

Soft gentle fingers enveloped over his own, scarlet eyes
parallel of the girl's emerald green. Somehow Shadow's
expression matched Amy's emotional mask, a tingly feeling
uplifted inside his black temple, this state of being is
something he couldn't comprehend. He isn't granted any chances
to try and piece together this feeling, shortly the pink
hedgehog broke her grip, deciding to leave the chaos emerald in
his care. "I'll take this back to G.U.N, we will guard it under
tight security" assuring his history partner, they will take
good care of it.
Shadow held the jewel steady in the palm of his hand, its still
crazy to know it served as a battery for a Chaos imitation of
all things. "I will drop you off at the museam, once you are
finished" he placed the emerald away in his "pocket" and crossed
his arms, mentally he hoped they don't linger around too long
before this place get any funny ideas.

Amy pursed her lips at the mention of G.U.N. She had been hoping
that he would keep it for himself, but she supposed he was right
and that agency could protect the emerald, but what if Shadow
needed it for something? Would they let him have it? Amy shook
her head and then turned to the black hedgehog. “Alright, if you
think that's for the best. And I'm ready. Got my pictures, got
my statue, I'm good to go.” She said picking up the light device
and started making her way down the hall to the secret door.

Shadow nodded and exited the secret door following Amy, he
pulled out the glowing gemstone of power intending to use it as
their ticket out of the ruins. He may not need the chaos emerald
in the long run, there remained a use for its power. The black
hedgehog raised his hand, the gem begins to glow brighter.
"Allow me to use a shortcut to get us out of here, Chaos
CONTROL!" the pair vanished in a flash, reappearing at the
entrance of the museum, fulfilling his promise.
"We're here" He tucked the emerald away in his fur, deciding to
stick around to watch Amy enter the building safely, or in case
she needed something else from Shadow before he returned to
headquarters.

The trip back to the museum was a surprise, to say the least,
'This was a lot quicker than driving.' She thought to herself,
making a mental note to call her ride and let them know that she
didn't require their services. Amy turned to Shadow and smiled.
“Thank you for bringing me back, Shadow. And for tagging along,
I had fun, and you were a great help in the field. If you ever
have an urge to pursue a career in archaeology, let me know, I
can hook you up with the right people.” She said with a wink,
only partially joking.
In all honesty, even if he had no interest in this sort of
thing, she would be okay with that as long as they got to do
more things together. It made her wonder what his interests
were. 'I'll have to ask him sometime.'

He shook his head "Tempting, but I'm contempt with my current
position, I can fulfill my promise to Maria this way" in truth
he didn't really care for the organization, he may no longer
harbor amuch hatred towards G.U.N, they still sent their troops
over and slaughtered his family, the reason he joined in the
first place is to avoid rotting in prison. If life was kind to
him, he would've took Amy's offer in a heartbeat
Shadow's communicator beeped, he checked its ID showing the name
of Abraham Tower, it is time for the agent to head back. "this
is where we part ways, until we meet again.." he zoomed away in
a flash leaving behind an orange speed trail. Skated through
town, zipping past traffic a curved smile sprouted on the left
cheek. Shadow not only learned more about echidna history, his
own origin, he found a chaos emerald before the crazy doctor got
his greasy little hands on it. [Not bad Amy, I wasn't bored in
the slightest..] to be honest...he didn't want the day to end.
He returned to base through the hangar, he met up with his
commander in the control room and greeted him with a salute.
"I hope you rest well agent Shadow, we just got word from our
investigation team another base has been spotted in Chemical
Plant, I need you to go down there and shut it down, and try not
to cause a nuclear detonation, we don't want people growing an
extra head or two" Towered advised knowing how reckless Shadow
can be on demolition jobs.
"Understood, permission to speak freely sir, I want to show you
something" he pulled out the chaos emerald from out of his
quills.
"A Chaos Emerald?"
"Yes, I want to leave it here with the agency, I'm confident it
will be secured in the vault" handing the jewel to the
commander.
"You have my word, now go" Tower watched his subordinate depart
for the mission, he examined the chaos emerald, contemplating
whether or not to keep it locked away, or use its power for new
wepons to defend their country. "Hmmmm.." Suddently the gem
glowed a bright hue for an estimate of five seconds, when its
light dim, the chaos emerald is no longer within the commander's
grasp "!?!" he couldn't process what just happened.

Amy smiled and waved as the hedgehog disappeared from sight and
then went inside the museum. She called her to pick up and
informed them that they didn't need to get her as she was
already back in the city and left it at that.
As she hung up, her boss came up to her, he did not look
pleased.“Amy! Why are you here back so soon? Did you go dressed
like that? How did you get here so fast? I told you not to come
back until-”
Not wishing for him to have a stroke, Amy reached into her
backpack and withdrew the wrapped item. “Here you are, Mr.
Curator,” Amy said, holding out the statue of Chaos. “Found it
in an unexplored chamber.” She placed it in his trembling hands
as she headed to the office. “I'll type up the full report, but
then I really need to get off at 5, I have someone I'm meeting
and I'm covered in dust.”
The curator was speechless as he stared at the blue jade. “Ah-
uh- um... y-yes of course, Miss Rose.” the man said before
carefully carrying the priceless artifact to the archives for
study.
