Victory Day Celebration. Royal Palace. (open to everyone)
By: King Elias Date: July 8, 2018, 10:26 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
It's been just over one year since the Resistance defeated the
Eggman Empire and retook their cities from Robotnik's tyrannical
grasp. Ever since, the people of Mobius have spent the last 12
months rebuilding their homes and striving to make the most of
what they can. Rebuilding is important, but so is acknowledging
the accomplishments of those who made such a victory possible,
it was to this end that the King of Mobotropolis, Elias Acorn
had decreed a new holiday and celebration to mark the
       anniversary.
Workers swarmed all over the Castle grounds making preparations
for today's events, It would be open free of charge to anyone
and everyone, today was everyone's holiday, however there was
also various charities open to receiving donations from
partygoers. "I just hope Sonic doesn't make a scene about
getting his medal today." Elias said to himself knowing all to
well it was going to be a huge fiasco with Sonic involved.

A frail-looking coyote entered the room, he was wearing his
ceremonial uniform. The same he wore when he departed for a
mission overseas to establish a trade in between a foreign
nation and his. At least that was what he was told and such took
his mission seriously. Boarding the port this morning brought
him memories from when he left and he was eager to meet with his
king, Elias Acorn. He hoped would be proud of his
accomplishments, even if deep inside he was trembling nervously.
The idea to be back home was cheering the panicked Frenchy but
meeting with the king which to him was more than an honour was
in fact terrifying. ''Calme-toi Antoine, ce n'est que le retour
au bercailles...Non, It's the kingdom I serve and my home. I'm
gonna resume my duty as a royal guard, it's not a joke!'' He was
trying to keep his cool but his native tongue took over when he
got nervous. Especially when he had an upcoming important event,
it was usually the worst around Sonic the Hedgehog. Antoine
never could get along with the blue blur who was a favourite
amongst the royal family. While he was but a mere shadow around
them. Just a guard, no one special. ''Ressaisie toi Antoine!
Maybe princess Sally will be here, or anyone I know, right? Oui!
I must be impeccable and behave in front of them and make them
       proud.
Oui! exactement! Make them proud!'' He then walked shyly to the
king without being too loud so he wouldn't bother and anyone and
       stood straight saluting his liege.

The orange porcupine checking the morning mail found an invite
to the castle. Reading over the invite he lets out a yawn.
"Well, looks like there isn't a point to open the shop today.
Everyone is going to be at this celebration." Scratching the
back of his head Reck chuckles. "Maybe, I should go check it
out, or at least the food vendors." Reck continues still talking
to himself. He pours himself a cup of coffee to drink while he
gets ready. After taking a shower Reck gets dressed and holsters
his spell book under his arm. He locks up his home and store and
starts making his way to the castle. Normally he would teleport
but not wanting to make a scene if a crowd has gathered Reck
decides to walk. He lays his hands on the back of his head and
hums a tune. The distance between his home and the castle is a
       pretty long one.
After quite a while of walking Reck still manages to arrive
early. There are still workers setting up the celebration when
he gets to the castle. Looking around the porcupine sighs to
himself. "Maybe, I should have checked the invite for a start
       time." He buries his face in his palm and leans against a wall;
trying to stay out of the way until the festival begins. Reck
stares at the entrance waiting to see who all shows up.

While the castle was being prepared for the celebrations another
group was also preparing something for the day. Nicknamed "The
Party Bomb" by the faction members of the People's United
Coalition, better know as the PUC, they were busy setting up
several party tricks outside the city and one special surprise
       inside the city.
One of their spies had been working for days to get one of their
own positioned as part of the technical detail of the castle
party and, so far at least, everything had been going well.
While that agent did his part the rest was rolling a few trucks
into position a few kilometers from the city. The unusual thing
was that they were equipped with eight steel rails behind the
driver's cabin. Each of them could hold two rockets. This time
it wasn't explosive rockets however, it was just fireworks that
they'd launch over the castle when needed. The only issue they
really encountered already was that they'd have to abandon the
fly-by over the grounds with colored smoke. It would be suicide
for the pilots if they had any kind of air defenses in position.
Such was the price of being branded as anarchists and, more
often on the news, war-criminals. Oh well, they'd be in for a
surprise today. That should teach them to keep the PUC away from
       the party.
Petrov looked around and took a deep breath to steady himself.
Of all the things they had tasked him with, this was the worst
one to date. He had to play a technician for the sound team and
install a spike in the system while no one was looking. While
the spike was a harmless one, all it did was allow the PUC to
hi-jack the system for a five minutes without interruption, it
didn't make him feel comfortable to march straight to castle
alone without any means to defend himself. He hated the city,
though that was for personal reasons and the PUC could care less
about those. The others in the city were setting up in a sound
studio they had rented under the guise of doing some amateur
recordings, if only they knew. As much as he detested his part
in this, he couldn't deny it would glorious if they pulled it
off. That was the main reason he agreed to it.
"Alright Petrov, ignore the city and the memories, stay cool and
calm," he mumbled to himself as he reached the castle and
started to make his way through the workers, "nothing but your
wits and a smoke bag. Heh, they don't stand a chance."
James also arrived early to be there as part of the security
detail. Without people around, except for the workers and those
who wanted a good spot, it would be a good time to get a look at
it. Despite his job he did wear a formal dress uniform to blend
in better when it all started. Now, before he got to work, he
was going to either report to the king or the security chief,
however... he hadn't been informed who to go to... so the king
it was. Naturally he was nervous as he walked towards the throne
room, meeting the regent, how couldn't he be? All he had to do
       was keeping calm.

Elias was still busy overseeing the preparations, directing
workers on where to put decorations, going over security
reports, and instructing other government officials on their
roles and places for the ceremony. Running a kingdom was a lot
of work and this holiday was already costing the Royal Family a
small fortune. As he was scouring over a report a worker had
handed him the King caught a glimpse of a familiar Coyote.
"Antione!" The King called out excitedly as he walked over to
the Guard and pulled him into a rather informal hug to greet his
friend. "I'm so glad you could make it, I trust the negotiations
       went well."
