Her Sitting Room [Amy Rose's House]
By: Amy Rose Hedgehog Date: May 31, 2018, 4:53 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Amy Rose thanked the stork postman as she signed on the dotted
line then dragged the heavy box inside that contained a very
special old chest inside. Her cousin had sent her a letter,
informing of its coming along with the key to her family's
heirloom chest. Apparently, her uncle had kept it safe all these
years and it had been rediscovered within Mercia's castle
vaults. Amy was over the moon excited to learn more about her
heritage and history, and she knew the perfect place to put this
chest.
Grunting, Amy tried to get it up the first step on the stairs
and then strained as she tried to push it up the stairs. "WHOA!"
She exclaimed as her foot slipped out from under her and the
weight of the cargo went with her to the floor. "Ow." She pushed
the heavy box away from her and got to her feet. "Dang, why is
this thing so bulky and heavy?" She sighed and walked over to
the phone console. "Time to call for backup." She said, dialing
the blue blur's number from memory.
Ring Ring...Ring Ring...

Amy let it ring for a while until she got the answering machine
and sighed as she waited for the beep.
"Hey, Sonic, this is Amy, I was calling just now for a favor
but since you're busy, don't worry about it, alright? Take
care." She hung up and reached for the phone book looking
through the names for one she recognized. When she got to the
S's her finger stopped at a name she hadn't heard in a while.
She quickly dialed and waited for it to go through, when it
picked up she announced herself.
"Hello, Shadow? This is Amy Rose. Hi, are you doing anything
pressing at the moment? I'm asking because I need an extra pair
of hands in moving something heavy."

Almost as soon as she hung up her doorbell rang, Sonic had only
listened to about half the message before dashing over. After
one ding had no response Sonic started to rapidly press the
button causing the chime to loop over and over again. He tapped
his foot as he rolled his eyes acting as if he was about to die
from boredom. He begun frantically knocking before even two
seconds had passed. "Come on Ams open up." Sonic being wildly
impatient was the price one paid for having him show up so
quickly; if it was a good friend calling he always dropped
whatever it was he was doing to help their day along with some
super sonic help.

"What do you mean I cant order any coffee beans!?"
"Sorry bruh, its not on the menu.."
"Other places allowed me to purchase them!"
"Well that's them, are you gonna order some coffee or not? You
are holding up the line dude"
Shadow's goal to gobble down coffee beans for the day has hit a
brick road thanks to some stubborn cashier, he couldn't be too
frustrated at the guy, he is only doing his job. The brooding
hedgehog is about to place an order when his ringtone. "All Hail
Shadow" blared in the establishment. He pulled out his phone to
see Amy Rose on his caller ID, why did she want to speak with
him all of a sudden?
"One second" he told the cashier. He answered the phone, wanting
to know why she contacted him.
"Hello, Shadow? This is Amy Rose. Hi, are you doing anything
pressing at the moment? I'm asking because I need an extra pair
of hands in moving something heavy."
"Im on my way" he replied before hanging up. Disregarding his
beverage order, the obsidian pin cushion teleported inside Amy's
living quarters, he looked around noting how organized it looks,
not too shabby.

"Thank you very much!" Amy said as she hung up and then jumped
in surprise when the doorbell rang then smiled slightly. "Well,
that was fast. I suppose that's to be expected from someone
almost as fast as-" Suddenly Shadow teleported into her living
room and she blinked, "Wait if you're here then who..." she
opened the door. Uh oh. "Sonic? What are you doing- I mean, I
thought you were busy?" she was confused but let the hedgehog in
none the less. 'Well, now I have two hedgehog men. I can work
with this... as long as they don't break anything or kill each
other. "Thank you for coming over, both of you. It means a lot
to me." She smiled hoping to direct their attention to the task
at hand and not at each other. She went over to the cardboard
box that was about 1.5 feet high and 3 feet long ways. "I need
this box moved to a room upstairs." She pointed to the
staircase. "It's kind of heavy and bulky, and what's inside is
very precious to me, so please be gentle."

"Hmph.."Sonic is the last person he wanted to see, always given
him a headache about his ego. Judging by Amy's reaction upon his
arrival, it seems she expected for him to not be around so soon,
what would anyone expect from the fastest thing alive? Of course
he will be here. For now he will just have to put up with that
irritating hedgehog until Shadow's assistance is no longer
required. Amy instructed the boys to move a sizable cardboard
box upstairs, she also warned them to be careful as the box
contained something very important to Amy. For the ultimate
lifeform moving a box is a simple task.
Shadow approached the item, placing a hand on its surface,
teleporting himself and the box, reappearing upstairs "Right
here Amy?"

As soon as Amy opened the door Sonic flicked a two fingered
salute along with a smug smirk. "Hey there gorgeous, somebody
order a hedgehunk?" Sonic asked with a cheeky tone as he stepped
inside while looking around Amy's abode. Now that Amy had the
discipline and maturity to keep her obsession in check along
with the knowledge she had of him being in love with a manic,
Sonic finally felt comfortable enough around Amy to be playfully
flirty. He raised an eyebrow spotting Shadow and a large smile
sprawled over his face; normally Shadow's presence would greatly
annoy Sonic however due to his recent victory over the black
imposter he was going to milk this for all it's worth. Watching
as Shadow beat him to the punch by teleporting the box up the
flight of stairs he turned facing Amy. "Good call getting the
Ultimate Loser to help you out." Sonic then cupped his hands
around his mouth and shouted loud enough for Shadow to hear him
up on the second story. "Moving boxes is about all he's good
for. He's not cut out for battle as I discovered yesterday when
I utterly destroyed him!" Sonic has lit a fire that was sure to
boil his imposter's blood if not dent his pride.
Not long after Sonic rushed upstairs tearing the lid off the box
looking inside. "So what have you got stashed away in here?" He
asked curious what Amy found so precious she needed the help of
both the fastest thing alive and the ultimate lifeform. His ears
and tailed twitched with anticipation looking over the odd
object waiting for Amy to explain it's significance.

'Why does he have to act like that towards me? At least let me
know that I will never have a chance instead of teasing me like
you do.' She thought to herself, a bit disgusted about how it
sounded like a sappy love song. She shook her head and then
cried out in alarm when Shadow vanished upstairs with the box.
"WAIT! You don't know which room yet!" She scrambled up the
stairs, not meaning to ignore Sonic's remark about Shadow's
usefulness; she directed Shadow into the room furthest down the
hall adjacent to the master bedroom.
The room she called her 'Sitting Room' had a very different feel
to it than the rest of her chic modern designed abode. In this
room, dark blues and purples colored the walls carpet and
ceiling; dark wood furniture covered in rich colored fabrics
held various items mostly candles, crystals, incense, or books.
Fairy lights lit up the blue drapes around the large window
behind a dark velvet blue loveseat. It had the vibe of a fortune
teller's chamber, it was probably no surprise that the little
wooden box on the glass coffee table contained her tarot cards.
"Right here, please." She pointed to a spot beside the glass
coffee table she had reserved for the shipping box.
Once the package was in place she went to open it but Sonic beat
her to it. "Be careful, please!" She exclaimed, carefully
pulling away from the cardboard sides of the dark beautiful
wooden chest. Amy Rose took in a breath as she ran her hand
along the old carvings, admiring the craftsmanship. "This was my
parent's marriage chest. My cousin told me in the letter that
our grandfather had this made for them when they were wed," she
said, feeling a tightness in her throat. In very early memories,
she could almost recall seeing this chest, but that was so long
ago. "I'm surprised it survived, after all this time." She
fingered the old padlock keeping the chest closed, and pulled
out the old skeleton key from her pocket. With a click, the
chest was open and she raised the lid.
Inside was a collection of different items, each containing
their own special history and value. To name a few items, there
was a hand-stitched quilt, an old scabbard, some old
leather-bound books, a couple of old paintings, and some
dresses, and... was that a crystal ball? Amy carefully extracted
one of the paintings, looking upon the oils that depicted three
familiar faces.
"These are my parents, and me." She tilted the painting to Sonic
and Shadow so they could see. The little pink figure of child
Amy Rose in a white dress was smiling as she sat on the lap of
her mother who had clearly inherited her pink fur from the
woman. She had kind dark brown eyes and was clothed in a soft
purple dress adorned with gold trinkets and a veil covered her
long quills. Behind them, standing proud was her father, his
teal fur contrasted nicely with his clay-colored tunic that
almost matched the brown locks that fell over his bright green
eyes. It would have seemed that Amy had gotten his eyes.
Amy Rose felt a few tears prick behind her lashes and she
blinked them away as she set the painting aside. "This is going
someplace special. Now, let's see what else is in here. You both
can touch but I don't think I have to remind you of how fragile
some of this might be." She was glad they were wearing gloves,
otherwise, her inner curator would have thrown a fit.

Sonic took a moment to look around the sitting room it was
something else entirely; for as long as Sonic had known Amy he
was aware of her passion for interior design she'd frequently
offered to do something with Sonic's shack but he always
declined due to his affection for his homes rough and rustic
feel. Taking in the sights and cute furniture he was starting to
regret the repeated rejections this was some of Amy's best work.
When she draw both hedgehog's attention Sonic offered up a
sincere smile looking over the photograph of a tiny Amy. He felt
a sense of nostalgia wash over him eying the carvings in the
chest before he returned his gaze to the others. "It's great
you've managed to get your hands on this again. We need to hold
onto whatever connections we can to remind us those lost in
Robotnik's raids are never forgotten. Hold onto this stuff and
treasure it for as long as you can Amy. Uncle Chucks's old
recipe box has gotten me through some hard times and I hope you
can get the same joy out of your folks belongings." While he
never regretted being the hero Sonic often lamented for the
childhoods and family members his friends had during the events
that had shaped them into the battle hardened veterans they
stood as today. He noticed the veil over the pink hedgehog's
head along with the crystal ball as and asked Amy a question as
he scratched vigorously at his busted ear. "Say was your old
lady a gypsy?"

There he goes, if Sonic's plan is to get Shadow riled up by
referencing their battle, he is doing a good job.
[Gloat all you want cheater it wont happen again,
I'll make SURE of it] his inner sanctuary fueled by a
strong desire for a rematch, one day he will wipe that smug look
off his annoying face. He is grateful to Amy for reminding him
of where to put her belongings, she provided a much needed
distraction otherwise fists would start flying.
Shadow followed the spunky hedgehog who lead the boys to a room,
resembling the workshop of a fortuneteller chamber, or the
magical world of a sorcerer, he placed the box beside the glass
coffee table as instructed. Shortly the ebony mobian parked on a
wall crossing his arms, bearing no interest to peek inside the
package unlike his opposite counterpart. Amy revealed her
parent's marriage chest is crafted by her grandfather, the
information is passed over to her by a letter from her cousin.
Shadow's stern eyes glued at a painting of Amy's parents that
also contains an image of the hammer girl herself in her younger
days.
